This list would be great for my students. You can't imagine how many times I cringe when I read their essays. I think effect/affect are misused the most.Maybe I should make a poster, hmm...

[Andr0gene] Confounded Part II
arfic replied to Frostina's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Oh, yes! A trilogy would be great! Confounded was one of the first stories I read here and I loved the sequel as well! When I got the notification for the new chapter I was so excited I thing I'm going to do a little binge reading ! Keep writing, I missed your characters and stories! -
Well, I though I should post here my opinion on the Write 101 course, now that I am almost halfway through it. It is really worth the effort, which isn't much, since the hours required to go through the given material are few, and the assignments, which have to be in a blog post/essay form, are due a week after they are announced. I think it is plenty of time for a 300 word text, especially when you are given the freedom to choose the topic and the form in which you will express yourself. The only limitation is that it should relate to a point of grammar. Your work is then assessed by your peers, who provide feedback as well and will be reviewed by the staff at the end of the course. Now, the course material is really interesting, everything is presented in videos that are easy to follow and there are also links to articles and videos pertaining to grammar and language, that range from delightfully informative to funny while making a point. All in all, it is a great experience for anyone who wants to learn, not only the basics bu what are the grammatical requirements and the occasional faux pas in academic, professional and creative writing. They cover everything about grammar, from structure, wording, and verbs, to the correct usage of adjectives and punctuation. And its free, so you can enrol and even if you find yourself unable to finish the course, there's no harm done. Plus, the second assignment is due this Monday and there is plenty of time to catch up and submit it. I enrolled late and didn't have a laptop through the middle of week 3 but I went through the whole material and submitted my assignment in 2 days( and I had a book club course with a reading assignment to do at the same time). If there's anyone who wants more information, feel free to ask. I could also post my 1st assignment, to get a general idea looking of the essays that are submitted, if you wish(my grade was 10/10 though it was hardly flawless...). Anyone up for a challenge?

This story was great Cia! I'm normally not that into fantasy but you got me hooked with this series and Hypnotic is hands down my favorite. You artfully combined romance, action, passion and danger, plus the sex scenes were ...sizzling hot! And I feel lucky I got to read the story after it was complete as it was quite the plot twist and cliffhanger fest! And this is meant as a compliment; leading the story to unexpected developments repeatedly can sometimes feel forced and unrealistic but not in your case. Everything was orchestrated beautifully, reading this was a delight! Thanks for sharing this world with us, Iro

My sister enrolled in a European culture course last year and it was really interesting. There are some upcoming courses in August and September that sound promising and the workload is manageable I think- most courses require less than 6h hours of studying per week. And even if you stretch it to 1Oh( depending on the student's abilities) I think anyone can fit it in their schedule.

https://www.edx.org/course/english-grammar-style-uqx-write101x-0#! This is a course I found on "English grammar and style". It is offered from QA university through the edX site and it's free! It's labeled a " write 101" course and although it officially commenced on 7/26 you are still allowed to enroll! I though it could be good to share (sharing is caring

Adam, your story was the first I read here on GA, months ago. And it's my favorite so I feel I've been remiss for not having reviewed it. So, thank you for sharing this story and Andy and Matt with us. Their journey was heartbreaking at times, you portrayed them with brutal honesty and that shows in my humble opinion respect to your characters and to the reader as well. My heart went out to them both so many times while reading, and i could connect because we're all human, make mistakes, succumb to our fears and make assumptions . You captured the conflict between heart and mind perfectly and laid it bear before us in the final chapter. It is a great story, and you ended it masterfully; sometimes the one who asks the question is the one who has to answer it. So thank you again for a beautiful reading experience , brilliantly done. Sometimes You Get What You Need
arfic commented on Sasha Distan's story chapter in Sometimes You Get What You Need
I didn't want this to end... I really loved it Sasha! I already miss KIeran and Robin, they are great characters, a perfectly written story as always and once again you worked your magic and made me relate to a character I have nothing in common. I so enjoyed the BSUL "cast" guest appearance -I'd missed them! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful work! -
Unfortunately it isn't! I was just kidding, I can't reconcile my actual age and how ok I really feel I'm 30 really but I keep forgetting it! A stubborn young soul i think.

Hi everyone! I'm Iro from Greece, I'm 30 going on 23 and i teach English as a foreign language for a living. I'm a member since April but I think it's high time I introduced myself and stop feeling like I'm lurking! I've read quite a number of great stories here so far and I hope I will have the guts to post something of my own sometime in the future. Not that I hold a candle to the authors here! Other than that I've been to art school for a couple of years so if any of you wants their characters fleshed out I might just do it! I don't promise a quick delivery though, real life getting in the way and all. Plus there's so many great stories here for me to read here still and a stuck of books on my nightstand calling my name, you can't blame for that, can you?

Epilogue - Get Your Cowboy On, All Year Round
arfic commented on Sasha Distan's story chapter in Epilogue - Get Your Cowboy On, All Year Round
Oh god, I loved his story! Thanks for writing it Sasha. Those characters will stay im my mind and heart for a long time - I can tell... The best of your stories I think. Really balanced lighthearted and deeply emotional at the same time, heroes you can't help but relate to even if you've never ridden a horse, it was a delight through and through, read it in one go. Thanks again for sharing it with us , the love you pour in your work just shines through. Really great work!
