Maybe Reed is just misunderstood. -
What Happily Ever After Really Looks Like

I am a firm believer in a damaged relationship usually has two people responsible, though to different degrees. I didn't want Brandon to be a perfect angel victim; I wanted his willingness to drift without paying close attention to be one of his flaws. -

I'm glad you like it. I was inspired by a series of stories on Nifty that I enjoyed. However, one problem I had was that the breakup/relationship issues happened so quickly (usually in the first three paragraphs) that I didn't get a real sense of loss. I was hoping, by focusing on the happy early days, to get readers to feel what Brandon was losing. -

thank you. I've been toying with ideas for a sequel, but nothing stuck until recently. I much prefer this site to the other one (literotica), so I decided to rework this story and post it here first. I plan to get the next part out in the next day or two. -

I really was hoping that the reader would be as blindsided as Brandon, so I'm glad I pulled it off. -
When Love Takes Over Chapter 2 November, 2014 I planned on going straight to the office after leaving the job site, but after thinking about my first meeting with Reed (and, if I was willing to admit it, a bit horned up by the luscious Rob), I decided to go home first. I knew Reed planned to work from home this morning before heading out of town on a business trip, so I hoped I could catch before he left and maybe, just maybe, convince him to give me a little afternoon delight. Sadly, I

You are right, this is very different from Mr. Brightside, but even romantic comedies need some angst, right? -

I'm glad you enjoyed it. There aren't going to be any major changes, but I've been thinking about cleaning it up for a while. The reader comments there did help me see some of the weaknesses in character introduction and development that I hope to improve. What lead me to actually do it, is that while I've been thinking about a sequel since I finished, I've never been able to really take my ideas anywhere. but in the last few days, I realized what I wanted to do. Therefore, I decided to go ahead and polish this and then I'll start publishing the sequel. -

i love Brandon, but, as you will learn if you continue to read, one of his biggest flaws is his tendency to act impulsively without considering possible negative consequences. sometimes it works out okay, sometimes, not so well. -
When Love Takes Over Chapter One November, 2014 “So when did you know you were gay?” Ben asked me. It’s a common question when gay guys get together, and one I had been asked before. In any case, I knew the answer. “May 13, 1991. At approximately 3:45 pm.” Ben choked on his drink. To be fair, I was used to this reaction, and had timed my answer for maximum impact. After Ben had recovered, he said, “That is very…..specific.” “Why yes it is,” I replied, taking a sip of my white wine.

After suffering devastating loss, Brandon has to put his life back together. Faced with a second chance at happiness, will he make the right choice?

I think I see where this is going, and I'm kind of sad unless poor Nathan gets his own happy ending. Team Nathan. Sigh.

thanks for reading

Don't worry, Thomas will suffer. What's a GA story without some angst?

Thanks so much for reading. I tend to read for wish fullfillment, so I decided to give the boys 10,000,000 and a destination wedding.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I actually had the epilogue planned since early in the story. It's how I wanted it all to end.

Thank you so much. It will be a while before I return to this world...I have some other projects I want to work on....but I am tentatively planning a sequel featuring Thomas.

I really intended the gun scene to be more about Jason's complete realization that the Shane he knew and the current Shane and the worlds they live in are different. His sweet, innocent, thinking the best of everyone friend is now someone who deals with the reality of how dark the world can be. As for how rush this chapter was...in retrospect, I do see it, and may go back and rewrite this as two separate much longer chapters. In all of my creative endeavors, I tend to start strong and get a bit bogged down by the end; I was afraid if I didn't just plow through, I might never finish. Still, even with it's flaws, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading

I'm so glad you liked it. And I really did enjoy writing the scene between Laurie and Denise. As far as the gun, I now realize that I've violated Chekov's advice that if a gun appears on stage in act 1, it needs to be discharged by the time the curtain falls. Honestly, I just wanted Jason to be freaked out by Shane's owning and requesting the gun....that this makes Jason realize that not only are dark forces at work, that they are not random, and that Shane is aware of them. So, in other words, an acknowledgement that danger is all around them.

honestly, I was going for a soap opera, slightly over the top vibe, so I'm happy with the label. Sorry if the ending felt rushed. I didn't want to drag it out artificially, so I might have erred on the other side. And it's still in the early stages, but I'm tentatively planning another story focusing on Thomas in the Witness Protection Program.

The sun was just beginning its descent, crimson and lavender bleeding from the sky into the azure water. Guests of the luxurious resort had already started to gather for dinner on the platform overlooking the private beach. Torches, chairs, a small gathering of guests, and a minister standing under a flowered arch showed that a wedding was being held there. The plaintive opening strains of “Somewhere over the Rainbow began” as pretty strawberry haired woman in an emerald green dress was l

Mr. Brightside Chapter 23 Refresher of Chapter 22 ending: At the name, Shane gasped audibly, interrupting the detective, who smiled grimly, “That’s right, your friend Thomas’s daddy. Among the associates they’ve been looking at is a certain Judge Caldwell. They’ve been going over his dealing with a fine tooth comb. That’s why this,” Venturi held up a photocopy, “caught their attention. It’s an order for protective custody, that’s basically involuntary commitment, for a Jason Reid. It was
