Happy New Year, dearest of friends. My only resolution this year, well ever, if i'm honest, is to take better care of me. To allow those times when, mentally, i cannot cope with life. To slow down some and allow things to just be as they are. i worry a lot, i always have. But i'm tired of that. Tired of worrying whether i'm good enough, that i should be doing this thing or that. I've been watching lots of men who knit on youtube. they are teaching me more than knitting. They are teaching me, that it is okay to be me. to slow down and enjoy the processes of the work and of life. That a dropped stitch is not failure, not the end. The work does not have to be ripped out and started again ... you only need to stop for a moment and with some patience and care you can pick up that dropped one and bring it back. They are teaching me most everything can be repaired ... that it is not rocket science and life isn't either. i have zero desire to write. and i am strangely okay with that .. i will, or i won't. i worried about that too .. that people won't read, that i wouldn't have as many readers for this story or that one .. but at least i didn't sell myself out there. i wrote what i wanted to, my way. if that is done, then that's the way of it. if it is not done, then i'll wake up one day with words in my hands again. Covid is still with us. We will remain huddled at home .. the vaccine is months and months away for us. And if the flu shot F-up is anything to go by, in this province we may not get it until next year. We'll see. Ontario had over 3,300 cases of covid yesterday ... the highest ever and it doesn't seem to be getting better. i am disappointed, in our government for their lack of leadership and decision making, i am most disappointed in us, as Canadians for just being so damn stupid and thoughtless. i am tired of sitting in my apartment, doing the right thing, while others bring the devil closer to me daily. i love you all ...often i cannot be here, but don't forget that .. i won't either xoxo i hope that this year sees us all safe, healthy and together. tim xoxo

28f here ATM ... no heat on in the house.. we turn it on and off as we feel like it. But sweaters and blankets are needed. Work is ... work. I'm happy to be off tomorrow!!

We do celebrate boxing day ... which means i get Monday off ... i do work tomorrow, but that's okay. New Years ... i think we need to stay calm and real about the coming new year. Nature and disease don't care about New Year's... our mental health is important and so, personally saying goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021 don't mean much and things aren't going to change much. For our sanity and happiness, don't believe that it will change quickly. We have vaccines to look forward to but for most of us here, that won't happen to until mid to late 2021. Keep on masking, washing and staying socially distant.

We spent a quiet day together and had fun Zooming with family for a couple of hours. It was nice to catch up with them all. Hope your Christmas was a pleasant one.

Is it a little smaller though? Maybe for some, i guess each needs to deal with what we're handed. We, as in society, need to get over who i love and what is 'normal'. If you really cut away the top layers and look at the world around us, straightness is not 'normal'. It is just is one of ways humans live. Obsessed straight people should look at the life on this planet and find out just how un'normal' their lifestyle is. And considering that they say it's normal, they certainly can't make it work very often. They marry, then divorce as soon as possible in so many instances. Often due to breaking their own rules of monogamy and fidelity. Hmmm, maybe it's not so 'normal' then, eh? To me, families are not normal, they are not usually good. Family is always represented that they are the ties that bind. They are unless you mess with DA RULES. Then, not so much. That was my family after my mother died. I am better off out of it. I miss my mother, but the rest... not so much. Michael has a wildebeest family. They gather together, differences forgotten when they are threatened. Their love for each other is Mount Everest, a force 10 hurricane. And you are welcome there no matter what. With all that said ... Merry Christmas.
