  2. Ripley is in a tiny blue urn.. with his name engraved on little wooden heart. It's a comfort to see him there.. well he is beside my mother's urn. Hers is nice gray marble with wheat sheaf on it.
  3. So my knitting saga continues.... currently i am finishing off the 9 blocks i need for Peter's pillow. Then i decided i want to knit some of Arne and Carlos' Christmas Balls ... however that means getting my head around 5 double pointed needles. I've been practicing on four but to knit the Balls i need 5 ... so after a few false starts, questions, watching youtube, and finding help in How to Knit in the Round for Dummies it finally made sense. Here is today's practice session so far ( on the far left). I need to add another colour so I'll practice that: What i want to make:
  4. If you are then i am too ... we had a list, went to the store, came home without cream or honey. Michael will go back tomorrow. Note to self.. make a list, and glance at it now and again. .. LOL .
  5. You also, Sir. Thank You!!
  6. Happy Thursday, everyone!
  7. Never if you're lucky. I hate winter and snow.
  8. Yeah, i felt that when someone nearly back up over me, i went to work and then I told Michael and he said, did the car touch you? I said yes. He called the police. Even if the cops talk to her only, they should have been called. I'm sorry people can be so rotten. Talking to them can help even if she decides not to do more.
  9. Snowing here and some on the ground from last night ... have a good day all.
  10. She should have called the police if this guy threatened her.

  14. Michael (my Husband) cleaned a bit on Wednesday. I am off until Monday. We went shopping today. No other plans. Our covid cases are surging again here in Ontario. We are worse off than we were in March. So we are staying home like they want us to.
  15. Wayne is a wonderful person and a talented writer. He's written some terrific stories. We're fond of him...

    The Story

i'm really not one for writing more about the same characters. I did it in Changes and Changes, Again but they were wonderful characters. But we'll see. There needs to be a reason to write, at least for me. Right now, @Wayne Gray and i are working on our second co-authored story, but it's a big project, not too sure when that will be done.
  18. aww thanks. You're welcome here anytime you want to drop in. We are a friendly bunch and these people are very dear friends. i love them all. Even @Wayne Gray !!!

  20. Michael is 40 years old. In twenty years He has had 3 chest freezers. The latest one we bought together (maybe 6 years ago). It died several days ago. Luckily, friends upstairs had space for most of the food we had in it. We discussed it and decided that after the fridge fiasco last year (we had our own. It had been a gift to Michael from his parents, it died about a year after he got it, but he had a new compressor put in, which He paid for. It died again last year. We tried to have it repaired, it never was and it cost us nearly $1,000) we are not going to purchase another freezer or get this one repaired. Our new fridge freezer is self defrosting or frost free (whatever its called) and pretty big. So, it will do. This week we are eating a lot of stuff that we could not get into our friends freezer. As thanks, we are sharing the cabbage rolls we made with them. As we emptied it to take things upstairs, we found stuff in it, that we'd forgotten we had. I think we'll be better off without it, frankly. It seemed we bought things to make sure it was full. We decided to hang onto it and see how we manage without it. i am going to do my best to make sure we don't need it again. I hope those with new appliances have better luck. We have proven to ourselves we do not. The apartment supplies our fridge and stove, so if anything goes wrong, they will give us a new one. We are not going to buy anything more, at least not in the near future.
