  1. Today your leaves are yellow and gold And some shine in burnished red Soon autumn’s winds will coldly rage And trees will then give up their dead Nature will cover us in her skirts of white Protected from the ice and snow Life harbours safely underground Waiting for spring’s relief to blow The world turns not only for trees Putting behind us mistakes and pain Every year we begin anew Our souls nurtured in life’s refrain
  2. sorry you had a hard week ... Sunday is the beginning of my week. i work sunday to thursday ... it's hard to be lazy sometimes, but i'm told it's good for us to just do nothing. it's nice to work from home ... but my job is stressful and i'm tired of it frankly. but right now, there's not a lot of hope for change. i'll try to make the best of it. you have a good day, spyke.
  3. i hope you all have a pleasant Sunday ... no matter what you can and/or choose to do
  4. Yes, it will be up to you. i don't sort my appointments or meds, Michael does. He does to take pressure from me. These things are often too hard. I'm grateful He does this. Does your son want more therapy? Is he open to it? i know i fought it for a long time ... i did stop for awhile, but figured out i was getting worse without it.. If he can find the strength even when he's in pain or pissed off...it's better to go. i wish all of you at least moments of peace
  5. someone stole his life ... he stole his world the abuser took things your son will never have again, not wholly. life is hard when pieces of yourself are missing or held together with bits of stitching. when you've been used and abused things are removed from your toolbox ... things we need to get by, to control ourselves, deal with shit ... usually we are depressed and or anxious. those things make life so hard. there are days i simply cannot function, days when, if i speak i will just crumble away. your son wants to be 'normal' but he is not ... not anymore. learning to cope with that is very hard and takes a long time for me, this is my life forever ... therapy, meds, depression, anxiety ... maybe for your son too i don't think about who did things to me, or what they did so much anymore, the nightmares are very rare now, but the holes they left in me, they will never heal. but there is hope ... time eases pain, albeit slowly ... he does likely blame you two in some ways, but he also loves and needs you. maybe more therapy with you all is needed ... i'm no expert on that, but talking openly and honestly hurts and is hard but it helps if you can do it. he will remember that you are with him now ... somewhere inside. and right now, that's all you can do for him. give him love and time. depression is thought to be a time of healing by some ... and maybe it is ... many who have been in long bouts of depression come through it and write books, or start new careers. maybe he needs to explore other opportunities or paths . jobs or careers he's never considered ... you likely know all this stuff i've just rambled on about ... but it's taken me years and years to finally accept myself ..i have Michael and i am safe here. i hope your son finds his way to this same place. Does he read? Sometimes reading about other's journeys and coping with depression helps ..... when he's ready to look at his issues with interest rather than self-hate. i can now ... and i read about the things that plague me and how others handle it sorry ... i'll stop
  6. hope you all had a nice Sunday.. have a good evening/night
  7. it was cabbage roll day... lots of work.. but we have nine nice meals in the freezer now and that's Saturdays dinner too. Also made chili so another six meals there. Next week we will make some spaghetti sauce. Hope you all had and will have a good day.. xo
  8. haha no it wont ... i promised to knit it a nice cover! lol
  9. you can tink them.. or back knit.. tink is knit backwards. or frog them.. which is ripping out stitches by the row. i rather support local jobs since they make these pillows and forms right here in the city. I agree, Amazon is over priced most of the time.
  10. yessss ... i have a chart yet, still manage to mess it up sometimes..lol
  11. oh. i drop stitches .. luckily i know how to fix them ... or lots of times i have to tink them...undoing row by row until i fix what i messed up. Believe me.. a good knitter can get these blocks done in under an hour ... it takes me a lot longer. But that's okay. I enjoy doing them. I found a local place that sells pillow and cushion forms and other things like that. And the prices are so much better than Amazon. Geez. 4 of the polyester filled cushion forms at HomeTex.Ca are $21.28 and the same from Amazon is $45.10.
  12. Thanks, but really, it's not. it really is easier than it looks, you just have to give yourself time to get comfortable carrying the colours, and remember to pick up the floats (the colour that's not being used) so you keep them short on the back. I've started another and have decided to use 3 colours. Mine are far from perfect but they are okay and look nice enough. The patterns are charts on graph paper, where each square is a stitch. If you can knit, purl, and count, you can make these. The charts are all online. And believe me.. i have undone them, and redone them more than once, but it is how you learn. Here's the back of the Love block... those are the floats... and you need to keep them short. it's very simple and done as you knit by picking up one colour over the other sort of picking up the not in use colour as you go, to keep the float short. I'm not sure about some of the beautiful sweaters made with stranded colour work or fair isle as it's called. Clothing is another kettle of fish where your tension has to be very good. i need more practice before i even go there.

  19. We work, cuz i am usually cold. He will be sitting there in winter with a fan and shorts and i am under a blanket with His old cable cardigan on. He just shakes his head at me. oh no worries.. i wish i was that good!! LOL .. but maybe one day. i enjoy watching them too, they make me feel happier and calm.
  20. maybe but He wouldn't want it. He has a fan on Himself and wears shorts and a TShirt all year. He is literally hot all the time.
  21. it was really nice, thanks, chris xo
  22. just to be clear.. that lovely thing is not my work.. it is done by Arne of Arne and Carlos. Mine is gray and white and i'll post it after i've blocked it. Michael's mom has sent over blocking foam boards, lots of bits of yarn and pins, a bunch of spare knitting needles and crochet hooks... and a ball of yarn which is over 2000 yards.. it's actually just over a mile of yarn. plus some brown and light brown and some multi coloured stuff... i'll be busy for awhile. LOL
