  1. There's only like 6 of us here.
  2. i choose laugh.. thanks for sharing that.
  3. Thanks chris.. yes we are both doing okay. Hope you and your hubby are also.
  4. You are very lucky ... it hasn't been that nice around here. The hoarding of certain food stuffs, toilet paper, etc ... is unnecessary but people just don't seem to get that fact. So.. they will happily screw thy neighbour.
  5. Well ... they sent us home.. E-customer service .. then offered it to other phone agents ... they had to meet certain criteria ... like achieving 90% on the various measures they use, having been working there for 1 year plus and having no security issues in the past year. I have all of that for many years. At home i act like i do at work.. i lock my computer when i leave it, i follow all the procedures. We do have a lockable room i could work out of, if needed with a desk and chair. Some of us are reliable and can be trusted. I hope they do offer this.. otherwise, honestly .. i'm not sure i want to keep working there. I sleep more, i'm healthy and happier, i dont spend so much on transporation.. bus or uber. I am more likely to work through days i'd normally take off because i dont feel super .. often it is the trip that keeps me home. Fingers crossed.
  6. So, i got up and worked a couple of hours overtime. Mostly I like work a lot more now that i do not have to waste 2 hours of my day travelling. I have done more overtime in the last month than i have in the last two years. Because i can work from 4 to 5 and not have to wait for a bus and get home by 6:30pm. This is such a win-win thing. There is talk of making it permanent. I hope they do. I really do hope so.
  7. I'd like any kind of whole wheat flour ... my Husband is a diabetic and well white flour is poison anyway but worse for him. I don't bake a lot anymore, not as i once did for us, but i like to have a little bit around. This COVID 19 mess should be remembered as the Screw Thy Neighbour pandemic. Good luck with finding flour.

nope it doesn't ... and that it forgives and heals so easily should make us want to be kinder to it ... it is our home after all. Thanks for reading and i hope you are doing okay, Thorne .. xoxo
  9. hehe, sounds like we ate the whole thing ... we didn't quite .... lol But yeah it is good, if you have flour at home or can find any, anywhere...

  13. ASHI !!! hello i've missed you. i hope you are well. yes yoga for seniors.. but my knees are nearly 80 .. and i cannot kneel or sit in weird bendy positions, so i needed something gentle.. and i found it, otherwise it is the same things younger people do.. no downward dogs or other contortions! You will always be Ashi .. ageless and perfect. xoxo
  14. Thank you, Wayne for gently pushing until i tried it xoxxo
  15. This is a great online magazine ... it is free, and would love donations if you're able. I have it delivered weekly. Something to get your brain moving and thinking.
  16. Well, someone explained to me, that we should be okay if we stay home and stay away from others when we are out. No one is coughing on us, and no one is sick around us. So just stay home, and stay away for now. It is all we can do. Try to keep calm and keep healthy. Practice a bit of the yoga, even just the first bit at the beginning. It does help. i do it throughout the day just a few minutes. I also take Calm Balance. I have taken it for some time and it does help me. I take it in the mornings, it's all natural. I also continue to take vitamin D which also helps with depression. You can read about natural calm balance here. molly uses it also and would be better able to tell you what it is called in the USA. If you take any medications, you should ask your doctor before taking oral magnesium. 👨‍⚕️
  17. During this time, lots of us have more time on our hands, more time at home. That can be both good and not so good. Working from home is great, it is a distraction from the news, from what we know is out there. At first i was very afraid of catching this virus. I did not want to die this horrible struggling-for-air death... or linger on a respirator. At first it is all i could think about. i was so stressed i was having chest pain. The yoga i wrote about in my blog helped. Doing something helped. But right now also NOT doing things is good. We need to be calm, we need to eat well, drink water, and sleep enough. It is okay not to be working all the time, or to be busy all the time. It is okay to watch tv (The Split with Nicola Walker for some family drama) or find your fav comedy. Have an afternoon nap, or a nice long soak in the tub. Read something, write, play scrabble. Did mention naps?? I recommend them. Be good to yourselves now ... care about you like you would for others.
  18. i hope you can get your work outs done, or do a few yoga moves. i sometimes just do the first few moves.. because it is simple and relaxing. Anything is better than nothing.
  19. Modify it ... do what you can of it ... the second link is seated yoga which can bring the same peace. We don't need to do all the moves, we just need to try.
  20. Do what of it you can ... i sometimes dont do all of it.. sometimes just the first few moves and i will do them during the day when work is getting to me. If my knees are bad.. i just do the beginning.. but i do something. That is what is important.
  21. So, i have been home since March 16, 2020. I think working from home, really brought home to me really how serious this virus is. Yes, i'd read about it and all the deaths in China. Read about people trying to get back to Canada and people stuck on cruise ships. But the Bank doing this huge about face and letting us work from home, really made it real. The first few weeks i really struggled. i felt lost and afraid. i could feel it in my back and shoulders, in my chest. It felt like someone was standing on it. I became borderline obsessive reading the online news over and over. i would read stories of people who had suffered through this and told their stories. Stories of surviving it, of losing people who had been young and healthy. i was absolutely terrified. Michael knew of course, and did His best to calm me. He protects me the best that He can. Friends did the same. I began, at a friend's urging, to try yoga. I have issues with my joints so i found a short yoga program designed for seniors. No kneeling, and it was short; 7 minutes. Frankly i am amazed at just how much doing that short routine has helped me. I feel calmer, and more centered. I no longer feel trapped. If you are feeling alone and afraid, do something. Here is the link to the little yoga program i do. I also like this place. https://www.yogajournal.com/videos/joint-freeing-series I am no yoga master and i do not think i ever will be, but these short times i spend on myself right now are huge, even with the small investment of time. It somehow makes me aware of myself and the inner strength i truly do have. Spend a bit of time on you, try it, allow it. I think you will feel better. Hang in there. We can get through this ... reach out and talk. You are welcome to join us in the Drop in Centre anytime.
  22. Some advice from the newspaper advice lady to some one feeling the same.... You are part of a greater purpose to help your community and beyond by slowing down the spread of COVID-19. You’re not just avoiding getting sick yourself. You’re contributing to a scientifically derived plan to lower the surge of more infected cases. You’re involved in this effort so that there are enough hospital beds, ventilators, and most crucial, enough medical personnel to care for those who, vulnerable or already sick, can be treated. You’re also doing this for cancer patients and others who’ve had to cancel long-awaited surgeries to make room for virus patients. Hopefully, with all of us making this effort, those patients can be rescheduled in time to have successful and healthy outcomes. Take comfort knowing that your own contribution matters, and that the more people who follow this plan in the way that you’re doing, the virus news will become more positive.
  23. night rick ... glad you got outside for a bit xo

Aw, thank you Wolfie. It is quiet, lately i've been less anxious about it .. more resigned. We do this for a common goal, for everyone and we need to remember that. You take care.
