We warn dog parents before they leave their beloveds with us... think kids at the grandparents.. the dog will get their food, and toast and cheese at breakfast. Depending on the dog, some cabbage or carrots. Pizza crust is guaranteed. LOL They also have access to the dog sofa. You may have to retrain your dog once they go home. And Brutus always checks out the floors. haha.

yes it's Brutus ... he's an old man now.. he's 12.. and a bigish dog. He will come .. say high.. look in the kitchen for water and then he'll go to sleep unless i'm in the kitchen. lol

Who knew? I like the odd heart or smilie face, but that's about it. Have a good Thursday... i have been "Early to bed and Early to rise.. not wealthier but maybe a bit wiser. And getting out for an early morning walk. It's too hot to walk during the day here or in the evening. Last night at 10pm it was feeling like 95 outside. No, thanks. But this morning at 6am, it was 78 and very humid but i walked. Today we have our friend's dog so she can run off for a long weekend. So that'll be nice. Michael loves to walk dogs. haha He's about the only one other than his owner who can walk him. Have a chill day everyone!

Okay, honestly… now some are saying white meat chicken causes cancer. Can we please stop giving animals crap and each other to eat? Maybe we need to live with less meat...fairly sure we can...and just have natural food. We stopped buying highly processed meat and foods. Shopping trips are at the edges of the store, with the rare foray into the middle. But no more ham, deli meat, bacon etc. I buy raised without hormones chicken and turkey. Eating as unprocessed as possible means a lot of cooking (yes cooking is processing) . But i got nothing but time, and it would be much harder to do if i was working still. Anyway... the reason for my blah blah blah is that I was thinking about what day it is.. World Chimpanzee Day and the day the amazing Jane Goodall set foot in Gombe National Park in 1960 to study them. What are humans doing to themselves. Where will it all end? But i saw the face below and thought, they and we, deserve a whole lot better. I will never meet Jane or a great ape in person, but i'm glad to know they are out there. And that's enough for me. Have a good day.

i like cucumber salad.. i just slice it for that but however you prefer... it's very nice and refreshing.

greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice and zest, grated garlic, bit of black pepper, grated cucumber (then squeezed until dry as possible). i dont use salt because of health issues. I think that's all .. mix it up. let it sit for a bit.

it's so humid and i decided to clean all the fans...but they work better now. Then i made tzatziki sauce to have for dinner tonight...chicken souvlaki, rice and grilled tomatoes and the sauce. MMmm should be good. Right now, we are having a massive thunderstorm. It's not meant to cool anything off, though.

Really? Huh, these creatures are so popular over here for sure. They are rather cool animals.. all other animals seem to like them and accept them. There are some interesting vids on YouTube if you feel like looking...these guys are peaceful, chilled out rodents. My Husband is willing to dig up the backyard to make them a happy home. He loves them. lol Have a good one Gary. Wildone writes scary stuff.. huh.

Happy Capybara Appreciation Day ... i need to be this chill..lol

Yep, he makes some excellent stuff. I bought his bread cookbook last year. My fav hot cross buns are from a lady from New Zealand ... which reminds me! There are still six in the freezer. Not for long. haha Have a great day, spyke!

It's Nunavut Day ... And another of our Canadian only chocolate bars, the Jersey Milk will not be made any longer. I still miss the PeP. I loved those. I know… There are other dairy milk choc bars and other peppermint patties... but it was a giant peppermint patty and was so nice. I know… tim don't live in the past... give up pining for old things that are gone, and you are not supposed to eat chocolate anyway. Okay, there is that.

Recipe is from John Kirkwood on YouTube. He was a professional 'cook' and the bread I make is his recipe. I make two, I use regular all purpose whole wheat flour and blend it with some Canadian white bread flour. About 400g of the white and 800g of whole wheat. I add some salt about two teaspoons, 4 teaspoons of yeast and about 3.5 cups of warm water and 4 tablespoons of oil. It mix it in the Kitchen aid with the dough hook. It makes two 2.5 pound loaves.

I like Him too. He's a very sarccy Englishman at heart and loves a good pun. All the time. haha i am waiting for the oven to heat up… So i can bake bread. Today is the coolest day this week, so… Time to do it. They will sit in the freezer until needed. Plus that increases the resistant starch in the bread which is better for diabetics.

It's World Allergy Day… Michael said: That's not to be sniffed at. (see what i have to deal with?) i am not allergic to anything that i am aware of, but Michael is and so are many other folks i know. I hope you all don't feel too bad today!

Thanks @Reader1810 and @chris191070. You're right, spyke it does look like that. They are fun to make but i really should be finishing other things but i manage to get them all done eventually. i have a couple of things to finish for Christmas gifts.

i asked to have a little table in the dungeon ... but my request was declined, so i had to steal the dining table. haha

When ya can't write...make afghan squares... these are currently being blocked while they dry. Just makes it easier to crochet them together. Wool has 'memory' so keeps it shape better than most acrylic yarns. But i use that too for various things. These are made with wool sock yarn. I just need to make a couple of hundred more than shown here. I do have other projects i should be doing .... oh well.
