haha, i shared all this with Dan who said, "Geez tim, throw me to the wolves why dontcha. I didn't think about fecking donuts .. I'm sorry! Do you want me to walk to the mall while we are under an air quality warning to buy you a donut? Our air quality has been 'unhealthy' the past couple of days, with warnings to stay indoors (windows closed and air purifier on if possible) or wear n95 masks if you need to be outside. It's lessened slightly today, but it's getting very hazy from wildfire smoke again. So, I told him he's forgiven and i can live without donuts for the time being. LOL

Sasha is my hero! yay. It's too hot to make em though. LOL
-
We used to be friends and deviant donut devourers, however, i am now alone.. It used to be Dan who'd sneak me out for devilish donut delights, but no more, it seems.
-
Dan does the laundry... i fold. They must have thought of that already. LOL

i'm grateful but somehow still feel let down. Danny went to the store today and i told him just now it was donut day... he said, "Oh, I wondered why they had donuts everywhere. They had lots with rainbow sprinkles for Pride." I just stared at him and shook my head.. "Didn't dawn on you Pride was a good reason to buy me a donut?" He just patted me on the head. He's learned too much from someone else who shall remain nameless.

Short stories are an excellent way to elevate your writing skills. It's more difficult to write a good short story, as you need to be efficient and a little ruthless. You've done so here skillfully. Keep writing short stories and vignettes such as this. This was a sweet story of hope and friendship. Thanks for sharing it.

I don't suppose there is any way to grow safely?

Oh, it's a quiet day. It's chilly.. Michael has decided i do not have to cook. He will look after dinner (think pizza or chicken). Glad you had the gloves! The toadstools sound nasty. The only strawberries we've seen here are from the USA. Nothing local. I have a huge bundle of local asparagus in the fridge. Looking forward to eating that.

Happy Saturday… And World Parrot Day!
-
OMG… You and Michael. He's always loved them, but they have become very popular. He has always wanted several and is willing to dig a pond and winter home for them. LOL They are chill though, you're right.

It reminded me of his strawberry bars too. Very similar, I think. The blueberry ones were delicious, and the Men enjoyed them with the skyr/maple syrup laced topping. I haven't seen those strawberries in the stores around us, here. Sadly. If they ever stock them, I'll try them. Shopping was a bit of an adventure yesterday. There was a lost sparrow in the store, and something (a rat most likely) ran in front of us, kinda creepy. We reported it. I hope you have a good day, Reader!

@Reader1810 Trying this recipe today. Metro had pretty nice blueberries for $2.99 a pint. I needed two.. less about 10 which i volunteered to eat. My decision was accepted as there was only myself, me and that annoying I in the kitchen. LOL ******* Haven't eaten them yet, however my lovely fresh blueberries did not turn all nice and jammy as shown in the picture. No bubbling goodness.. So i stabbed them with a fork and put them back in for a bit. Next time i will mash them a little before when using fresh ones. Frozen would likely give you the result shown above.

We ate potatoes often until my Husband was diagnosed with Diabetes. It's been downhill from there. lol So moderation is our family's fav word.
-
oh? Is it your mum or your dad who's Irish? i never cared how many i ate, but now i'd rather keep my kidneys healthy. i'm glad i get to enjoy some.
-
Enjoy your potato ... i can eat a little if they are boiled for a few minutes, rinsed and then boiled until they are done. There's a lot of potassium in potatoes. Sadly, i love them and especially baked. So, like most things, if you're on a special diet of some sort ... moderation is the key. So, i eat nearly everything but in small amounts.

i seem to have a reputation for banning people. No idea where that comes from since i've never done it. And this place is all about terrible puns. @mollyhousemouse used to share some awful ones... lol. Hopefully, she will feel like doing so sometime in the future. So keep up the good work!!

Hmm, animals cannot be trusted to not lick, bite, or scratch places they shouldn't. Hopefully, @chris191070can be!! LOL. We've looked after our own dog who had to be coned several times in his life, and our part-time dog recently needed a cone when he split his ear open while rolling on something sharp. I always feel sorry for them in those things.
