    Crumbling

Thank you for the long chapter. Reading it was soothing "it was like aloe for my broken soul" Donovan would say. Another little thing (among many) you captured so nicely: "Or, I thought to myself, I could burn the house down." This is exactly what my late mother would say every two weeks after her attempt to clean the house... I really love your writing. And the koala/Donovan leitmotiv is nice too...🐨
  2. And how confused Simon will be, and Mark... this is so messed up, I love it!
  3. It's your story, our comments are just that: comments. You have all the power to make your characters as miserable and obnoxious and loveable as you like. Don't waste your time on worrying, just write and be creative, treat me/us like some backseat driver(s), we are all here for the ride 🖖
  4. Maybe I used a word, that is too strong, but with a tag like "light-hearted" I have some expectations (not many but still). Of course, I love a great plot with many twists and turns and I love to watch, how a writer is maneuvering him-/herself and the characters in and out of it. And speaking bout realistic, hmm, let's just say... not where I live. Here this could be a fantasy nov 🖖
  5. Well, if there is any chance for a happily ever after (and we, the readers will feel cheated if there isn't any after all the building up in the story) and with only 4 chapters remaining, this will be hard work. The boys have some serious growing up and maturing to do. I'm afraid, as you are obviously wicked, you will have no scruples to kill some character off to help the development. I'm actually a bit scared, what you have in store for us. But as always, great to read.

    Just Friends?

  7. " I like your 'eg hatching' analogy, it sums up the process in many cases. And sometimes you just have the inspiration and everything just falls into place perfectly. Thank's again for sharing these pieces of your mind. For me, they are just like pralines that leave you satisfied without eating the whole box (and getting sick in the process). I believe in less is more, to cut down to the bare minimum/essence and what stays is really potent and just perfect. (thanks Grammarly, it catches some of my mistakes).
  8. Thank you so much for sharing, these poems are beautiful. They speak to me on a very concrete level: just this morning I was looking through the window as 'my' woodpecker was visiting and sparrows arguing with pigeons... It really is a gift to see beauty in the smallest everyday things and it takes a real talent to put together simple words and make them sound so beautiful. Your writing seems so effortless. (Sorry, English is not my first language, not even my second one, I apologize if I write something weird.)

    Just Friends?

For distraction and not to ruminate too much about the sad situation Donovan and Shane got themselves into, I mentally go through Donovan's wardrobe. What is Shane going to pick, hm... My best guess (for now) is the romper aka chastity belt. Or maybe Shane in the romper too? My imagination is going wild again. To say nothing about the gorgeous surfer dude with two dolled up pygmy goats...
  10. And now the real fun begins! This will be precious. The real Alex will be pissed as hell...

    Just Friends?

I guess, deep down he knows, he was raped, it's just his head and his dad's words messing with him.

    Just Friends?

Thanks for the new chapter! Shanes trying to minimize his being raped was heartbreaking. He desperately wants to have some control over this, like the tough guy he wants to be. When reading about the wager, I imagined Shane dressing up/down D. in some kind of lumberjack outfit, but obviously, you have other plans, which I'm sure will be equally delighting. And I couldn't help myself and just had to google "pygmy goat dressed up". Now I can't stop imagining Drew (poor guy, does he even know, what he got himself into 😱) and the crazy twins. This will get out of control quickly I'm afraid.
  13. Preparing the stage for the big reunion/ showdown/intervention from friends & family? Can't wait to read, what troubles you are throwing at the boys this time! 🖖
  14. Just wanted to add: I will never be able to look at the pigmy goats the same innocent way as before…
  15. This actually made me very sad. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned or just plain old but I don't understand this kind of friendship. To cure every booo-booo with sex, to take advantage of a friend who's feeling down, I just don't know. You were right about Allé, he is something else. But then again, feeling guilty can do wonders for one's humility, maybe this is what D needs. No speculations, just waiting (not very patiently) for the next chapter. Well, to summarize, your writing is great, and I feel old 🧓

    Catchphrase

If we understand what yesterday night means then it is correct. I vote for yesterday night, it sounds lovely.

    Catchphrase

You are so wicked! In a matter of seconds, you sent me from being content with developments to my personal black hole, I have a big anxiety attack😱. I have to go back and read everything that Allé said and did to anticipate his moves. But I guess, he is in love with Donny (or Shane) and has his own agenda. Asexual my ass, sorry ... 🤭

    Catchphrase

Thanks for the new chapter, there is a silver lining. Allé is a really good friend and a bit of a shrink too. about ‘yesterday night’. I had to read it twice because the first time around I couldn't understand why it's supposed to be weird. As you can tell, I'm not a native speaker and in my mother tongue, yesterday night would be exactly what one would say. BTW, from now every time ‘yesterday night’ comes up in a conversation I'm going to think about this story, for sure.

    Family Reunion

Nooo! I'm a benevolent reader, I look for clues that I missed, not for your errors. Everything actually fits very well, reading your story is like assembling a big jigsaw puzzle. A beautiful one. If you write so well unintentionally as you put it, I would really want to read something you put together intentionally. You are talented so deal with it, my friend!

    Family Reunion

Just had to read the whole novel again and would just like to say, that your writing is great. Every little thing you write about has some meaning later on in the text. You are really good, your characters are so alive, as you can see, we, the readers, are really passionate about them. Thank you for sharing this with us. So, about Davis... is he some business partner or something, whom Shane would like to impress? I can see some big developments ahead, poor DAKS have the whole AARP group against them, closing ranks for Donny A.. There will be some serious ass-whipping of the bad grandsons (I hope/expect/fear). Love your writing, you are really wicked! 🖖
  21. So powerful and so sad. Memento mori... Thank you for sharing these beautiful poems
  22. Don't crack under pressure! We are just showing, how captivated we are with your story. But I still just can't stop obsessing, my imagination is going wild with redemption scenarios, like in DAKS' apologizing in full drag in a straight bar... Can't wait for the next chapter, 🖖
  23. Confession time: I have a big work-related deadline coming at me super fast (as in tomorrow) and I can't do anything, just thinking about this story. I read the whole story again in one go and am still kind of baffled about Drew & Co. Where they too drunk or drugged or under a spell? Is Davis some dark force like a Dementor , sucking the happiness, decency, and loyalty out of everyone? Just wondering and hoping that the next chapter will put me out of my misery. Fingers crossed and sweating towards my own deadline...
  24. Shane was actually honest, he likes a tight ass, he proved it, and is too macho to be a fag. So, no surprises there. I'm not disappointed in him, he is, who and what he is. Is Davis maybe his "straight-best-friend-crush-from- before-Donovan" and he wanted to impress him somehow? The real disappointment for me is, like for many other readers, Drew. How can you recover a friendship from stuff like that, I'm not sure. With Shane, I can see a scenario (Shane giving his ass up in a major redemption scene, telenovela vibe is rubbing off on me...), but a friendship is a different kind of animal. BTW, your writing is really captivating, I just love it. It takes a lot of skill to write about so complex and intriguing /infuriating characters. And your cliffhangers are great too!
  25. You just made me smile. Another hug from across the world
