I'm loving this story. But I think I forget that Nick and Jack are only 15 years old. I couldn't have handled all the problems that these boys have handled when I was 15. I realize that this story is fiction, as well written as it is, and I give them, and their creator, a pass when they don't act like mature adults. Carry on Nicky and Jack. May your story have a happy ending.

I don’t have the words to add to the accolades already presented, Gary. This has been a beautiful story beautifully written. Mondays will be a little emptier without a new Bearpaw chapter to look forward to. Thank you for the loveliness you add to our lives. I’m already looking forward to the next one!!!

Chapter 23 In the Bright Light of Day
Ford48 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 23 In the Bright Light of Day
As always, I was thrilled when I learned this chapter was posted. The way you tell a story, the characters you draw, the vernacular you use just speak to me and make me want to know more about every aspect of your stories. I envision the settings so that with each new chapter I feel like I’m coming home. Thank you for doing that, Gary. What wonderful stories you tell and what a gift you have telling them. Be well!!!- 77 comments

This is a beautiful, poignant chapter in a beautiful, poignant story. There was a time before all the craziness that Lucas and Reid walked alone to the farm house leaving Jubal to tend the horses, as I recall. It was a small moment but Jubal didn’t like it. Reid then rode off but didn’t seem upset. In my mind I think Lucas told Reid of his growing affection for Jubal…clearing the air between them and setting the stage for Lucas and Jubal to be together. Thank you again for this story, Gary. I hope you are recovering from the loss of your four legged friend. I feel like this chapter, in particular, was written from your heart.

I offer my condolences for your Sky, Gary. The love for an animal, especially one that is a close friend, is a beautiful thing. This chapter is also beautiful and captures the growing connection between Jubal and Lucas. Thank you for your stories.

Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Ford48 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
I’m loving the story and your descriptive way of writing. Lucas and Jubal are real, the ranch is real and I’m sure their relationship will be real, once they get around to it! A week is a long time to wait…but worth it. Thanks!- 80 comments

I'm currently on a trip to London and one of the most exciting things on this wonderful trip to an amazing city has been to get the notification that you had posted another chapter. I continue to love the story, the characters and the playful/serious interactions between Jubal and Lucas. I look forward to the time they really open up to each other. I know you'll handle it beautifully, Gary. In the meantime I'll keep reading as soon as you put the chapters out. Many thanks.

I don't know that I can add anything to what has already been said...but I. too, love your stories and your writing style. It's hard to describe but I get this sense of being home, being comfortable and being excited all at the same time. Your characters are real people in my mind...people I admire and would like to know. I get real satisfaction when a new chapter pops up. Thank you for that. Don't ever doubt your writing skills...and keep 'em coming!

As I frequently am...a late arrival to the party! Your writing and your ability to tell a story are amazing. I have been off this website for several months but felt the need to read a well written gay-related story tonight. I have so enjoyed your other stories so looked to see if you had new ones...and found stories that I hadn't previously read. Thank you Gary!!! You have provided this reader several hours of much pleasure.

Chapter 7 Changing the Rules
Ford48 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 7 Changing the Rules
Gary...I am several chapters further in and I am loving the story. But...even more I am loving your writing style, the word pictures you create and the sense that I am being carried along with Kendall and Michael. I fine that I resent being pulled away to tend to other matters. Thank you for the many hours of pleasure that you are providing me. I am so happy that I stumbled onto you (!!!) and I will probably continuing reading your stories for a long while. I love the fact that they are such varied lengths. -
Chapter 7 Changing the Rules

So many years later and I'm just now reading this beautiful story, which is driving me crazy. This particular chapter has such sensuous expectations. I can't imagine that Kendall and Michael don't get back together. I ALMOST want to stop reading and just coast on my dreams. Such romance! -
Chapter 1 Sentimental Journey
Ford48 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 1 Sentimental Journey
I'm kind of on a Headstall "read-a-thon" and enjoying every minute of it. This story is so different from your western themes but the carefully drawn word pictures are the same. I could see the woods, the tracks and the aftermath of the accident then could both see and feel the two men coming back to life. I love your ability to create such wonderful, believable stories. Thank you for sharing them with us, your friends and your audience. -
What an interesting, lovely story. I love the dialect, as usual, and the names of the characters sound authentically "western." Plus the connection between Virgil and Dr Jergens is a nice touch. I would love to follow these two on their travels to Larkspur and then see them settle in. Thanks again for a wonderful story.

Chapter 16 Roped and Tied
Ford48 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 16 Roped and Tied
I always feel sad at the end of a beautiful, well written story. It's like a friend or a place of refuge and escape has been taken away. This story is no exception. Thank you for your attention to detail, your lovely terminology and "folksy" prose and the wonderful characters you have created. I'm so happy I happened on your site. I will be reading more of your offerings...with the hope that you will take us back to Larkspur and the boys. Thank you, again! -

Chapter 10 Praises for Blue
Ford48 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 10 Praises for Blue
Gary, Just to check in and let you know I'm still reading (actually glued to the screen all afternoon). I don't see this chapter as dramaless. I love the way Coy and Boone are interacting...feeling each other out, as it were...and rediscovering the reason they have fallen in love, even though they can't acknowledge it yet. It's just a lovely story, despite the trauma, and I am still loving it. -
Like Lt.Mac I'm new to this site. I read Our Bar to see if I liked it and I enjoyed it immensely. I'm now winding my way through Sidewinder and am loving it. The sparse dialogue seems so appropriate to the time, scenario and characters, who, also seem very real. I am really hoping that Boone and Coy find their way to stay together. Thanks.

Chapter 33 - Coming home - Part 2
Ford48 commented on unilive's story chapter in Chapter 33 - Coming home - Part 2
It's Christmas Day 2022 here, I have just returned from my last family gathering and have just read the last chapter. As I said in my earlier posting, I realize I'm late to the party. Maybe I saved the last chapter as a Christmas present to myself. I have loved this story and the personalities you have created so beautifully. You have developed an entire world that seems plausible. I was able to feel the fear and the tingle of the first tentative steps when Robbie and Mark initially got together. I was able to understand Mark's strength when he insisted that Robbie needed professional help to get himself back on track. I reveled in their successes and in their love for each other. So...thank you for a wonderful, engrossing journey. I can't believe English is not your native tongue. I hope you write more, either about Robbie and Mark, or some of the other characters that I'm sure you have stored in your creative brain. I send my best wishes as we approach 2023. Alors!!! -
Doctor Rusty, At Your Service

What a silly story! Or just a flight of fantasy? Fun and enjoyable and a stretch! I'm enjoying it in spite of myself.- 29 comments

I'm two years late to the party, I realize, but I feel that the intensity of the encounter with Damien had to result in Mark "acting out." I'm happy that it was with the twink and that it wasn't the true betrayal it would have been with Damien. I have grown to love the characters in this story. I know virtually nothing about the world of Rock and Roll but find it encouraging to feel that there are REAL people behind the incredible talents and personas that we see on stage. I think this story is incredibly well written and I am thrilled that I happened onto it via Mrsgnomie, I think. The characters are so well drawn and each is so deftly different. It is all so real that I have trouble believing it is fiction. Thank you, unilive. Now I'm going to read the rest of this delicious story!

Very scary as we drift in and out of Novo's mind. I don't understand it all but I'm enthralled by my mind's pictures...and I hope there is more!
