Thank you bundu for the kind and wonderful compliments. Through Alone in the Night, I've found others who have going through the same life as me, that write about their experience as a way of self healing. I know several have found this through RWTP. During my time on the streets, letting my mind wander to fantasies of Lycan, dragons and other creatures of myth was an escape from my reality. I don't think I would ever think of myself as a hero, however like others I've gotten to know, I'm a survivor. Again, thank you so much for your kind words.

Centex, Thank you for the continued support and encouragement. Ethan was walking a tightrope over an abyss from his loss. One wrong move and he could have potentially been lost to his grief and perhaps gone feral. Figuring out the dreams and putting them to use would give them an advantage that can't be understated. Since Ethan doesn't have anyone that can train him or an owners manual to go by, his mind relies on instinct to guide him in using his gifts. Between his human side, the elemental side and his wolf side, it gives him a lot to draw on. The healer in him realized that one at a time just wouldn't work from a safety perspective so he created his own way of dealing with the situation. Jean-Pierre had issued orders that the hostages were strictly hands off, for the time being. Though as the saying goes, 'when the cats away'... That said, the culture of the gang would allow for the rough and abusive treatment of the hostages under normal conditions. Jean just sees that they are in anything but normal conditions with the botched attack. Aiden's actions are the new mystery. He may not even realize what happened since just like with Ethan, this first use of extreme power left him out cold on the floor. The rogue guards that were killed had never had any direct contact with Aiden, so they would have had no reason to think he could potentially be an Alpha. When they looked in the cell and saw his wolf, they just figured someone screwed up and he was a lunis instead of a lupus wolf. Even Jean-Pierre hasn't figured it out on a conscious level, though he feels he can talk to Aiden as an equal. Aiden is still coming into his own and not necessarily exhibiting all outward characteristics of an Alpha. Not sure if there are cameras in the cell block or not. It isn't like they are in continual use normally and that would be an added expense if not regularly utilized, but it is possible

Thank you lux. Aiden has shown remarkable restraint, but he also realizes what the situation is and that his actions could have an impact on the other hostages. Take action if able or if required to protect.

Thank you Gary. I'm happy you enjoyed it. The eyes of a Lycan glowing or flashing is fairly normal (in my Lycan world at least), for a human, not so much, which gets people wondering about Ethan. Michael's friends are having to figure where their loyalties lie, with the current Alpha or their friend who is expected to eventually become the Alpha. BTW, Thank you for being the 200th review.

I don't know what I could say beyond what all the others have said, so I'll just leave it at, "Another great chapter!" I do have to remember not to get started on your stories late on a work night. That, "oh, just one more chapter before bed" is a killer the next morning.

I love how Craig started out appearing weak in the first chapter and now his strength is coming out full force. It's great the way he figured his sister out and put her in her place and the mother is wonderful. This is a truly wonderful story!!!

Thanks Centex for the continuing support The interaction between Aiden and Jean-Pierre was fun to write. The other two deputies just want to get free and do as much damage as possible while trying to escape. Aiden, either from is very nature or the fact he is an Alpha in his own right wants to escape to get help, but also wants to insure the safety of the other hostages. I would say even Jean-Pierre is impressed by their conversations as he's not use to finding anyone that can converse with him as an equal. This has been exceptionally hard on Ethan, but equally hard on all those who care about him. He seems out of reach as his emotions have shut down, yet in his mind he wants nothing more than to sleep but is afraid of what he'll see if his eyes close. Short of Aiden coming home, Casey is probably the only person that could have given Ethan that lifeline to make his way back and not be lost forever. Lets hope that Darius can convince the other Solaris to help. The fact that he began speaking is definitely progress.

Thank you Gee. In a lot of ways, the rogue gang is like a criminal biker gang. They have a lot of the same element in their ranks and when I first created Jean-Pierre he kind of exemplified that with his treatment of Michael, however that was one rich kid walking into his domain thinking that flashing a little money around could get this gang to serve his wishes. As leader of the gang, he’s also the head of a business that exists to make a profit in whatever he does, be it drug running, slave trafficking or kidnapping for ransom. As the plot grew involving him, he too had to grow beyond my first introduction of him. If he hadn’t continued to factor into the plot, it’s likely he would have remained more like he first came across. You’re right though, even with his treatment of Aiden, Jean-Pierre is a heartless dick, but he’s one that as studied war, understands guerilla tactics, and knows when a fight is not in his best interests. I think I misunderstood your previous question. Even though it was never talked about in the story line, I would guess that the Alpha and Sheriff both had some thought that Michael could have had something to do with the ferals that began coming in with tracking devices. While no one in the pack knows where he actually is or what he’s doing, it all started after he violated is release and exile.

Thank you for finding that for me since it would have taken me forever to run across that. I knew I should have made a note of that in my character bio file when I wrote that so I didn't screw up the continuity of the story. It seems I made reference both ways to the parents being killed as well as stepping down. I had never really planned on using the Alpha's parents in the story until recently. I'll be going back and modifying the earlier chapter to adjust for the mistake I made.

Centex, as always, Thank You Even though the rogue leader was considering going full in early on, he's enough of a business man to not made hasty decisions especially when he's out numbered. Now one of his lieutenants trying to build a reputation for himself has committed the leader to a course of action he was hoping to avoid. Aiden would probably love to lash out the first chance he gets, but he's keeping the hope that Ethan is safe and the safety of the other prisoners in his mind to stay focused on what needs to be done. It's unlikely anyone in the Lycan Council knew of the attack before it happened, but there are members of the Council that do business with various rogue groups under the table. I would love to post more than once a week, however I'm just managing to keep about two weeks ahead on my writing to give me time to edit. I really wish I hadn't had writers block for several months at the end of last year
