Thank you for the wonderful compliment, Raven. In the edit and rewrite, Carlos kept trying to get me to simplify things and I kept adding with Jean-Pierre. He was more fun for me then I planned. Casey is probably the only person other than Aiden who could have brought Ethan out of it.

The rogue alpha was going to be a simple throw away character, then I started having fun with him. As for his beta, why kill someone you can use as an example of what happens when you cross the boss. Death would be an easy out.
-
Thank you, Raven. At least the first half I gave you was fun at the farm and an enjoyable Halloween fair. Ethan even got to carve some pumpkins and win a prize. As for the rest, it was bound to happen at some point.
-
Thank you, Raven. Yeah, Casey has always attracted men of all types, both human and shifter. He was also top man and could get most anyone he wanted to bottom. His attraction to Darius is a surprise to him, let alone his desire to bottom for the first time.

The pack as a whole is one large family, maybe a dysfunctional family at times, but still family. Rafe and Mary had become his parents in every way that was important since he came to stay with them. It made sense for him to finally take their name and make it official. As Ethan uses his gifts he learns how to direct the energy in his body. Similar to a baby rattlesnake being more dangerous than an adult since it doesn't know how to meter it's venom and will release all of it in a single bite.

Thank you again, Raven. Unlike when Ethan got bit and turned, I wasn't going to share this chapter with anything but his shift. I hoped readers would see it the way it appeared in my own mind, and from the reactions in the comments, I'm pleased they did.

Thank you, Raven. When I was editing this with Carlos, I realized the opening with the feral was almost identical to the previous chapter. The rewrite gave me the opportunity to have some fun with it and build a little on the bit part that wolf plays. John having lost his son sees a terrified adult whose mind is still little more than a child and the dad instincts kick in. The house was fun and opened possibilities for writing that staying in the apartment wouldn't have

Thank you, Raven. I had run with this chapter, especially with Darius toying with Casey.

The gang operates with the view of never trust and always verify. If the information turns out, who knows what could come of it. Aiden has too much respect for his alpha not to tell him or redeclare his allegiance. There is much he can still learn.

I think I learned more about cardiac arrest when I wrote this than I ever wanted to know. It was a violent reaction, but they were able to restart his heart. If it would have happened a few days before the full moon, I'm not sure he'd be recovered enough to survive. Luckily he's got some time. I knew before I posted this it would get the reaction it did: loving Ethan and Aiden finally mating, and dislike for Michael's portion included with something so special. But it's about two very different people getting exactly what they wanted. It might not be how he envisioned it, but Michael was smiling at being taken by an alpha. Still I did struggle with putting them together. If I did it over again, I'm unsure if I'd do it the same, but likely would.

Action chapters are nice, but sometimes it's more fun writing ones like this. Unless it's something I can workout a good cliffhanger for

Knowing death is one mistake away is a powerful motivator for Chris. Tyler, Connor, and Kevin were never actually enemies, but not friends either. All four of them out from under the thumb of Michael's blackmail can try to build new lives. Each time Ethan uses his gift another feral shows up, so there is likely some way they can find him. A wild animal sensing help or picking up on something in nature to guide them.
-
For two wonderful people who wanted the best for their son, as well as their entire pack, it is sad that it's come to this. Also that Michael is their only child
-
But is he ready to make?

I thought only gingers were soulless (sorry for the joke to any redheaded readers ) As I was writing this, I tried to do my own research to come up with the best description for what I wanted Ethan to be, and annoyingly at the time something on World of Warcraft was as good as it got. Not only was it a life Ethan took, but it was the life of a wolf, something that is most dear to his heart.
-
Thank you, Raven. Rafe likely would have killed Robert. Both his human and wolf side would have wanted to protect and avenge his new son knowing what that person had planned to do. I'm going to have to check out Percy Jackson now.
-
It's likely the bond between the two helped bring about Ethan's gifts strengthening. They might have developed over time regardless. Or the situations he finds himself in are forcing them to the surface more rapidly. Tyler was never a bad person. He just fell in with a few bad people and couldn't easily find a way out just the same as Connor and Kevin.

It's good to know when you're too close to something to be involved in the investigation. Normally the sheriff or others would try to protect the son of the alpha, but with the orders issued it's clear their boss knows what's coming for his son. He also knows there are times the pack must come first, even above family, and with what's been done, now is one of those times.

Thank you, Raven. I'm very fond of mythology, so working this into the world of shapeshifters was fun to do.
-
That's a beautiful waterfall. The electric look in the second picture is great. Meeting additional shifters is a good way of helping Ethan along with his education. The fact it's a gay couple of different species lets him see that isn't a reason to hold back in a relationship.
-
Ethan had to learn to protect himself on the street, so taking while taking on a wolf was a new experience he was going to do what was needed to protect himself and Aiden. It's fun for me as a writer when I can make some of the jokes work.
-
In this case Ethan, like the author, is simply short and because of his size it makes him look younger than he is. I enjoy the speculation as well. It was an aspect of writing I didn't think of when I started, but it's a fun form of payment for what I do. Caleb is in a position outside the pack he can say or do anything without repercussion. Ian on the other hand is a wolf who reports to the alpha. As is pointed out, caution is advisable when any potential deficiency in a member of the alpha's family is suggested or questioned. The alpha is a reasonable man, but questions could run the risk of someone challenging for control.
-
Ethan has the potential to be like a wild wolf. Friendly around others, but easily spooked and likely to bite. Easing him into the pack and family helps to calm him and not overwhelm everything he's known before.

Rafe and Mary were fun characters to create. The Tucker brothers as well. Aiden had always been an additional son to them so being asked to help his mate was a no brainer to them. The knowledge he'd been homeless meant they were going to make sure he knew he was now home. The alpha sees the powerful wolf Aiden has grown into. The leadership camp out only reinforced what he thought of the young man. Brief observations of Ethan, plus how Aiden was with him tells him this will be a good addition to the pack.
