When a reader picks up on some of the small stuff in the chapter, it makes me smile.

Amos was kind of fun to throw in the mix. Especially with Dorian making the comment about the guy fathering a son with his own daughter. It may have been a stereotypical comment about the deep south, but... Well, Dorian did get his ass handed to him a couple times at the conference. Ethan beat the crap out of him. Maybe he's just on his best behavior, or maybe it's something more.

Lake Louise is on my list of places I want to visit. Someday... Many of the wolves tend to think a lot of themselves and their superiority. If a species isn't around them to be seen, it's a myth rather then competition to be an equal.

I don't sleep well away from my husband now. At first I didn't think I'd get used to him being beside me. Now I miss it when either of us is gone. The fact both of us have jobs that take us away for sometimes months doesn't help.

Thank you, Bft. I sometimes get accused of being too cavalier about what happened, but ultimately it's part of life on the streets. It's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It's also something that will happen over and over to countless others in the same situation. Some survive while others become a statistic if their body is found.

You're right. He should have gone to the Navy or NCIS and wrecked the man's career. Fear, pride, uncertainty about his situation, and a host of other emotions held him back from doing that.
