When you complicate things, it makes them fun. I'm still grateful to the bridge climb that they made it free to firefighters. Can't wait to do it with the husband. If you need an adoption service for one of them to get a new pet, I've got a list that are single and house broken.

I thoroughly enjoyed writing Thorin even though I don't really like the character. More specifically, I liked him getting slapped down in front of the group. Sometimes you need a guy that to his friends is a total standup guy and fun to be around, but can be a total dick when he perceives a threat. Adding another D/s relationship among my wolves, and having Dainen being a former boyfriend of sorts to the alpha add to the fun. I saw Dainen as someone who caught Brody's eye and when the younger wolf became legal age made himself available for their mutual pleasure. Both knew they weren't mates and enjoyed it for what it was. Bring in Brody's true mate who is also a sub, but territorial. A part of me didn't like putting Dainen though that, but it was still fun to do. And Brandon had a good time doing it. I'm going to leave it to the readers imagination on how Brody deals with his mate. I wasn't sure how this story would be received, but I'm pleased with the positive response. The best part of writing is hearing from you and the other readers. After spending nearly three months on various fires in both Southern and Northern California, I hope this year isn't as bad. But I won't hold my breath. We'll hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Thank you, Mike. And thanks for comment #400. Rest, relaxation, and sightseeing where much needed after the fires.

They've been working on it. The pair are talking and are getting acquainted.

When a character slips off his leash, it's time for a padlock. Or handcuffs.

LOL. His probably won't be the only one, but I'm guessing not in the same way.

Thank you, Kris. That's the best part of writing. I can take people with me. I think it might qualify as fan fiction. I'm sure he has a spreadsheet like I do. Mine covers all the characters I've used, cross referenced with who they interacted with, what chapters they're in if not a main character, and other data that might be needed later.

Thanks, Centex. Love all the reactions to Thorin. Lets me know I wrote him just how I wanted. Also pleased with your reaction to that scene. There's a lot of great things to see there. Sydney is a wonderful city even if it is bloody huge. I'm scared of heights. I am short and prefer being close to the ground. I won't walk across a glass floor and if I'm in a tall building like the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas I won't stand near the windows to look down. The Giant Staircase in Katoomba didn't bother me since there was something solid under my feet and I had a railing I could hold. The bridge climb was about the same. Even though I could see through the steps, it was solid enough it didn't bother me. The view was incredible and when I go back, I want to do it again with my husband.

Thank you, Dughlas. Hunter Valley has some damn good wines.

Chris, it's great to have you back with us. I've mentioned before, since my first assignment was in the Hunter Valley, when I started writing this, I knew I wanted to try and include the winery if possible. It was fun for me crossing the two worlds.

It gets interesting when the lines between reality and fiction become blurred. When I knew I was going to Australia, I tried to write down all the spots around Sydney that Carlos had CJ visit. I even joked with him at the time I was talking the CJ tour. Places from CJ's second visit were unexpected as they were related to firefighting instead of sightseeing. Ultimately, Carlos is responsible for the guide.

It's a pleasure to have you have, Reader. I think the Liston Winery scene was the first thing I wrote with this book. Toyed with it for a while before sending it to Carlos with the question, "Can I?"

Thank you, Wesley. At least with this hated character, I can promise he won't get his own book later.

Both Brandon and I enjoyed the surfing. Brett and CJ did it, so we had to. Ironically if it hadn't been for your and CJ's travels, Brandon and I probably wouldn't have visited as many places during our free time. It's fun writing a character just to be disliked.

“I can’t believe how clear everything’s today.” Brandon and Dainen left Toto’s Café and walked through Taylor Square towards Oxford Street. “Is there a tunnel under us? I’m hearing traffic.” “Yeah, the M1’s down there.” Looking up, Dainen smiled. “The rain cleared the remaining smoke out. Seems like forever since the sky was blue.” “So where are we going first?” “It’s a surprise. But I think you’ll like it. I’m glad we’re on foot. This is Oxford Street, which you saw a little of l

Fortunately in fiction it would be easy to arrange for leave time so Austin, Dean, and Dainen could all get together for a well deserved break with Brandon. Though I'm not sure how much resting would be done. I'm sure my husband and I could write up a pretty good scene for that.

I was thinking something for the cartoon version. It's anime if I remember right. I could just google and probably will.

Fires like what Australian had created tremendous updrafts at times, as evident by the size of the smoke columns. The hail can do a lot of damage to people caught in it too.

Since dialogue is written in present and narrative is written in past tense, laid would be correct as it's the past of lay.

Thank you, Will. What can I say, I didn't want Ethan to be the only short wolf in my world.

I still haven't seen that movie. Ethan might have and felt the name was appropriate. I like your way of thinking. Anything is possible.

Ok, I give you the detailed scene of Brandon spending some time with his husband, and a sexy Aussie, and you want to blame Ethan for the mouse and snake explosion? Shakes my head. lol. Actually Ethan can't be blamed. He left Oz long before the the crazy amount of rain hit this year. They just can't catch a break there.

What? Win Bender, even in his rodeo days, never went to Australia? He could have put on a good show for them.

It's just the nature of his relationship. Austin is his soulmate, husband, boy, and probably pup when they go wolf. It probably wouldn't have been something he'd see in himself.

Most definitely! It's weird being in someplace like the Hunter Valley, around vineyards and the wineries and then realizing the line of trees that seems out of place next to a road is to block the massive open pit coal mine.
