There's a lot more books being published for middle school kids, with "quiltbag+" characters, which is pretty sweet! I mean, gay people don't just spring out of holes in the ground as full grown adults! It starts earlier than that. We need more representation of LGBT kids in the media, and not only as teens and college students! Like with Danny and Elliott in A Million Little Things. So, whether Billy meets "Teddy Altman" or somebody else, I would love to see that!
Whether he's gay or straight, the jury is still out, since he doesn't talk much about his personal life. As far as anyone knows, he's single. So, you can still hope.
I thought we might go for a drive and pick some apples from a local farm. Maybe we'll stop for burgers or a pizza on the way home.
The lessons are going great! It's been almost a year since he started, and the teachers are very impressed with his progress. He's gotten a few compliments from the other dance families and his classmates, which he accepts with grace. He's very passionate about dancing. Some kids at school gave him a hard time when they found out, but one of the older students has a brother who is in Max's ballet group, and it was quickly shut down.
