  1. @Comicality Desi is a kid is after my own heart! "My favorite food to cook is mac and cheese...and stuff!" 😂
  2. Sounds like a nice vacation, Clo. It's really too bad that your mom couldn't be there, but you can still remember the happy times you had with her on vacations past. Reblochon cheese....I think I'll cook some veggies and potatoes on the grill tomorrow, and make a Raclette. It's supposed to get colder after nightfall this week.
  3. Hey, Bertie. How are you and Steve? Hey, Gary. How are things with you? And Cookie and Falkor? Hey, Dugh and Thistle. *scratches Thistle behind the ears*
  4. I wonder about the story they have to tell?
  5. My dad called the other day and mentioned that a turkey has been roosting in a poplar tree in the backyard recently. Not every night, but on-and-off, for the past couple of weeks.
  6. I hope your family stays safe. Sending lots of hugs to you and your cousins!

  11. Floating Twigs, by Charles Tabb After Jack Turner finds a starving dog while fishing with friends, he talks his alcoholic parents into letting him keep the dog he names Bones, provided Jack can earn the money to care for him. In the process of finding work, Jack meets Hank Pittman, a middle-aged man who lives in a dilapidated school bus at the harbor. A friendship ensues, and Hank becomes the caring father Jack lacks at home despite the fact Hank is hiding his own secrets as he tries to escape his past. When Jack meets Mrs. Mary Jane Dawson, he starts working as her gardener, but trouble brews in the form of gossip and lies that threaten Jack's relationships with Hank and Mrs. Dawson, as well as Bones's life. After initially ignoring the gossip, Jack finds he must face the lies and discovers love carries with it a responsibility to others. When Hank is accused of a crime he didn't commit, Jack must find a way to convince a jury of the truth, a difficult task when even his own parents refuse to believe him.

  14. Well, I hope they're tasty. Just don't expect me to be your test subject.

  17. No, things are great at home. I won't go into details, but I had to report a new member
  18. Things are alright, I suppose.
  19. Hey, Marty! Hey, Albert!
  20. One of my favorites growing up was called the A to Z Mysteries, by Ron Roy. The Absent Author, The Bald Bandit, The Canary Caper, etc...those really improved my retention ability. Another one was The Boxcar Children mysteries. Four children are orphaned, and live in an abandoned boxcar because they believe that their grandfather is a cruel old man. After one of the kids falls sick, they seek help from a doctor, which leads to a chance meeting with their estranged relative. As I recall, there were at least 200 books in that series, not including "Special Edition" stories. But then I stopped reading after I found out that the author, Gertrude Warner, had passed away after writing Book #19. Every book published after that was penned by a "collective" of writers using her name.
  21. They definitely looked too old. 😛 And I'm aware that 30 isn't too far off for me, so maybe I sound hypocritical, but it just turns me off when actors have such a drastic age difference from the characters they play.
  22. Watched a movie on Freeform called The Thing About Harry. It's about a young gay man forced to drive cross-country with his former high school bully, owing to the fact that they each have been invited to a classmate's engagement party. The snag? His ex-bully is gay, too. What could possibly go wrong? All of the actors are 10 years too old for the roles portrayed in this film. The protagonist and his "love interest" attend the same college, but appear to be 30-something. It was very awkward to watch a grown homosexual man spoon with his heterosexual gal pal in the opening scene as if they were still teenagers. The scripting felt weak and the characters were flat. It had all the mediocrity of a Hallmark movie, with none of the charm.
