King and the Dragonflies, by Kacen Callender. Scheduled for February 2020. Hopefully, it will be more epic than their last book. Twelve-year-old Kingston James is sure his brother Khalid has turned into a dragonfly. When Khalid unexpectedly passed away, he shed what was his first skin for another to live down by the bayou in their small Louisiana town. Khalid still visits in dreams, and King must keep these secrets to himself as he watches grief transform his family. It would be easier if King could talk with his best friend, Sandy Sanders. But just days before he died, Khalid told King to end their friendship, after overhearing a secret about Sandy---that he thinks Sandy might be gay. "You don't want anyone to think you're gay too, do you?" But when Sandy goes missing, sparking a town-wide search, and King finds his former best friend hiding in a tent in his backyard, he agrees to help Sandy escape from his abusive father, and the two begin an adventure as they build their own private paradise down by the bayou and among the dragonflies. As King's friendship with Sandy is reignited, he's forced to confront questions about himself and the reality of his brother's death.

Yeah, Mickey is a sweetie when it comes to his nephews. And Rory, too. But Grant is only a year-and-a-half. Too young for kayaking yet. 😀

We're doing well, ourselves. No mishaps occurred while my nephews were visiting. Mickey changed a couple of diapers after dinner. He and Grant sat on the sofa and cuddled while Mickey read Grant a story called Seven Silly Eaters. Morgan is watching a movie with Mickey right now.

Glad you saw your favorite butcher, Clo. Shame about the zipper, though. Mickey helped me make sure that the electrical outlets were secure before the nephews came over. I also did some laundry before going to the market, and I got some writing done.

Hey, Clo. It's 53F/12C here. Pumpkin donuts and apple cider were bought at the farmer's market. I also bought a good, sharp Wisconsin cheddar for the fondue. Grant and Haley are doing fine, so I hear. No colds or sniffles yet this season. Haley is....five months old, I think? And Grant is a year and a half. I'll pass on the sentiment to Mickey and Remy.

We're all doing well. Morgan went to bed early tonight. Deirdre is bringing Grant and Haley over on Saturday. Mickey called me today, and he's so excited to see his nephews. I think Remy is probably going to be busy with something this weekend, and IDK about Rory. What are the girls reading?
