A good chapter. The guys needed a little time to recover, and to talk a little. Coy seems to have some things on his mind he's not up to discussing yet, but Boone is patient, if a little bit worried about what those things might be. But the feeling between them is a good one, so I think they can both move on from this camp successfully. I'll certainly be back to see! -

Ah. Ahhhh. What a great chapter. Good ol' Sheriff Willard seems to be a man with his heart in the right place. Funny how a third perspective can sometimes help to iron the kinks out of another two! Good to see Boone and Coy back together. Sometime you need to miss something in order to realize how much it means to you. I think that's happened! Looking forward to seeing where we go from here. -
Harrowing chapter, but with a gift at the end. Boone both survived, and Coy found him. Good that Boone had a smart horse, that went looking for some help. I am only wondering how close Coy was when the horse found his camp. Great tale, Gary. Makes me want to haul out the box with the old westerns in it, and get ta readin' agin!

So...wait. Is a cliffhanger that takes place on an actual cliff a double cliffhanger? Or a cliff cliffhanger? Or are they the same thing? I am sorely tempted to get to the next chapter now...but I can't. Just means I'll have to get back as soon as I can. I think it's safe to say you've caught my interest, Gary! -

Amazing, that so much more got broken than just Boone's nose in that punch. These two are acting about like guys do everywhere. Talking, but not quite saying everything they're thinking. Friendships should just be damn hard to kill. These two seem to be doing their best to amicably separate when neither really wants to do it. That's sad, and there seems to be so much that they're both thinking that is remaining unsaid. How could either of them be anything but ambivalent? But my feeling is that this split is not permanent, and so I am going to trust the author and be patient. Ahh. That feels GOOD! 🤠 -

I think it's wonderful for you the express a feeling of not having the words to define the moment by painting so many striking pictures instead. :) We all need more things to enjoy with our eyes right now, and a lot less to assault our ears. Thanks!

Definitely a less than happy chapter. But that's the way it is sometimes. Boone has a right to look for happiness, and Coy has a right to feel a little bitter at the split coming. These two have been together and shared a lot, but not all for the same reasons. But...splits don't have to be forever. So I'll just wait and see what happens next. -
Always liked Brian Keith. Wasn't he the gunsmith mentor that called "Max Sands!" to Steve McQueen in Nevada Smith? Grew up watching westerns with my dad, too. Yup. 🤠

Like your sheriff, Gary. I can almost see an older Slim Pickens in the role, with maybe some Richard Farnsworth and Brian Keith tossed in for good measure. Good chapter. I kind of appreciate the justice of Boone and Coy winding up with the gold. The sheriff obviously has his hat on straight! Back for more, soon. Wondering where our boys will be off to next, and whether it will be together...or not.

Glad to see that Coy made the right decision on Will's ill-gotten gains. Makes a better epitaph for Dan, too. And, the decision makes Boone happier. Just hope the sheriff sees it thatta way!

Agreed that many classical pieces were written for harpsichord or organ, but they can still sound well on piano. Maybe I'm not quite the purist you are! Hope to see you at Christmas, CG!
