Yes, they aren't really that much use except to lift an otherwise pedestrian suit. Like ties, they're a chance for expression. Felicity is one of the darker threads to this tale. She's taking quite a chance meeting someone new. It understandably makes her nervous if also excited.

The attention is certainly more than he or Andy might have thought reasonable. As to being spoken to by strangers, that might be partly generational - the young are much more receptive to starting random conversations. At least his in-person encounters are all pleasant ones.

True. Perhaps it makes the insults more personal in a way? It avoids the moderation that will be in place on the website. Less likely to be traced if there's criminal content? And of course, there are still plenty of elderly people who don't really have anything to do with the internet.

I think that's right. Having spent a lifetime being anonymous, it must be quite a shock to be the object of curiosity. I suspect Eric agreed to the videos without anticipating the interest there might be.

I missed this post somehow. My favourite is the great horned owls. I read it, then considered AC's comment, and read it again. The layers of meaning, of word painting, slowly reveal themselves. I love owls. They can be seen as creatures of ill-repute, but not here. Thank you for these. They all bear re-reading.

While I agree with AC, I also see the stifling, constricting effects of religion. A faith which might profess love but only the one that fits. A visual, thoughtful poem, like so many you offer us. 😘

Before the latest system update, it was possible to get status update notifications from people I followed without also receiving a tonne of notifications for other things they posted. Am I right in thinking that's no longer possible? I realised I'd missed a few status updates recently and went looking into the Notification settings. In Followed Content, I toggled this section: So just now, I logged in to find, yes, a status update but also a raft of other notifications. Am I missing some other way to sift through what gets notified? As an example: One's a status update, Dead Composer's I follow, the other two are surplus. Laptop, Windows 10, Chrome
