  1. For once, I went on to read this story as soon as I read the review. Thank you, @Parker Owens for pointing me in this direction. Many thanks to @Drew Payne for having the courage to write about things so close to him. Everyone should be able to find their way in life without the damaging, twisted efforts of groups like Drew describes.

    Summer Riches

These fruits have personalities- some more mischievous than others. Blackberries should know better than trying to evade capture.
  3. GA (and @Parker Owens) made me into the writer I never knew I wanted to be. It was also the starting point for me discovering who I am. My writing has branched out and not all of it appears here, but GA is my home. Thanks, @Myr and thanks also to whoever asked the question. ❤️

    On Display

Yes, a hobby that takes you out of yourself is a good thing. The past few months have been a good demonstration of that.

Thanks, dugh. Maybe a teen romance would be more fitting for the times we live in. This is what my brain presented me with.
  6. Trying to resist @Carlos Hazday's prompt. Trying very hard. *I'm going away now.* Other things to write first.

    Just Desserts

It wasn't that long ago that salted caramel was the outer reaches of ice cream flavours. Not sure I'd want meat in any form.

    Old and New

Thank you! That's what an author likes to read. I hope you enjoy Part 2 whenever you start to read it. Part 3 is in the works currently.

On the surface, it may seem black and white. It is very rarely so clear cut. Domestic abuse is a complex subject - one of the main things is the person being abused must want out. There are likely to be a whole range of psychological, physical, and financial barriers in their way.
  10. Thank you for caring enough to ask. It's been a while since I've thought about this story. I think any author will tell you they write to those characters who speak to them. Geoff and Tony have been pretty quiet. Have I given up on them? I don't know is the honest answer. Having re-read this chapter has stirred a few thoughts. However, I must concentrate on finishing Never Too Late - those characters have been demanding my time a lot. I expect that to take the next several months. Then there's whatever I decide to write for the next anthology. I promised GA's admins a story for Premium after that, but given I unexpectedly offered them one now, I can hang fire on that. So maybe next year? Certainly a COVID-19 limited winter will create more time for writing (and so keeping sane). Sorry I can't be more definite.

    Making Plans

I do when they're distinctive and offer service and/or goods I can't obtain elsewhere.

    Tough Love

That's a little unfair, I think. Andy needs to temper his undoubted enthusiasm with training and knowledge.

    Expectations

No, not at all. I think they both had expectations which were unlikely survive a first meeting. Yet... time may tell.
  15. It is an option. The system assumes you'd like it visual but you can click on the banner at the base of your post (often obscured by the virtual keyboard) to make it present as a link.
  16. Hi Ron, posting a link and expecting it to morph into something visual only works for stories, not chapters. For example, my collection: works from the link, but not Icarus, which is the fourth story in the collection: https://gayauthors.org/story/northie/shrunk-to-fit/4 Does this answer your question?

For Ted and his collie, Sal, life secluded in the wilds of Yorkshire appears perfect. That is until one day when the world around him changes. What direction will Ted's life take now and how does Jase fit in?
  21. Purging... hmm. I hope you feel better for it, Gary. Writing can be a good vehicle for getting stuff out of your system. The 'fat rat' made me smile. If it's a real crossroads, here's to you taking the right path. And 'positivity'. Yep, like every difficulty, set-back, defeat is a 'challenge', something to be relished. Look after yourself.
  22. Excellent, both. Particularly glad to have technical prompts back.

My random chapter read for today. And it was great. Kept me reading straight through (and that's no mean achievement ). Dissing donors in the fine art world is like committing professional suicide. Was the skiing holiday really that great?
  24. Glad to have you join the ranks, Wayne. Congratulations! 🍾
