  1. If you use the ADD/SET tags from the story drop down menu, you can add more than twelve tags. I know because I had thirteen before editing story/tags to remove one. Probably, you don't have a limit set for using the ADD/SET tags menu option?
  2. Only it's open to interpretation as to whom, are we talking same sex marriage or hetero? Big difference!
  3. What do they call it when you start to feel good again because the whole school has stopped talking about you, but it then becomes a million times worse when you discover the new thing everyone is telling everybody else? It doesn't matter, but if I was edging on paranoia before, now I was totally gone. “You heard the latest?” Stewart Evans was as usual accompanied by Enzo. Made me wonder where James was, because the three of them were always together. They were grinning and giggling like a
  4. And it's not getting better quickly... school life can be a bummer!
  5. “You know that weird feeling that there's something going on, and it's about you?” John-boy looked at me strangely. “That's paranoia, Alex.” “No. I definitely got the feeling. People are talking about me.” “Talking about what exactly?” Perhaps John-boy was right. I was becoming paranoid. I needed things to make sense and they didn't. “It's all such a mess. I don't know.” He was being sympathetic. John-boy knew about the stuff with Matty. He had told me I had to com
  6. The past has a way of catching up with you and it can turn your life upside down. When you haven't faced things completely, but hover in between, it is easy to fall into a complex of lies and half truths. You may think you know what you want, but life has a habit of throwing a curve ball. Will Alex and Matty come through unscathed or will events prove to be overwhelming? Whatever the outcome there will always be a sense of doubt.
  7. The author has a very good style of narrative, carrying the story forward with the essential moments which are marvellously described. There is just enough information and never too much. It is a writing style that keeps the reader engaged and turning the pages whilst also wanting more. The story itself evokes the different lives of two teenagers growing up, going to the same school where each boy has their own challenges to face. There is a message in this story about, love and forgiveness, but also about harassment and survival, privilege and wealth versus poverty. It is an emtional tale of first love and triumph through adversity. I highly recommend it.

    Chapter 5

The story was great, a very enjoyable and easy read. The characters were real, their lives as well. You wrote a wonderful story and yes I'd like to read more about these characters, but only if you feel you have another part of their lives to narrate, because there has to be something important like coming to terms with being gay and a first kiss/relationship.
  9. This is a great story in which the author weaves a wonderful tale of young love and finding oneself. The characters are very relatable and the story realistic, full of emotion, and very well written. It was the review by @W_L which allowed me to discover this gem. A very good read which I highly recommend.

    Epilogue

This was a great story which I am so glad you finished and which I enjoyed reading. That it was in some part, or in a large part, based on real life and real people is rather like a lot of my own stories and I think adds another dimension of emotion and credibility. Excellent story.

A brilliant exercise in misunderstanding from both sides, Valentín and Lauti, and a great resolution, a long, deep kiss, in front of the rest of the boys. Wow! Great chapter.

I don't know how this story got chosen to be reviewed some six years after it was first posted, but I'm glad it was picked. You asked: "What did you think of chapter 3?" It was excellent, the story is engaging, the characters are real and relatable. The new relationship between Valentín and Lautaro is a slow burn and all the better for it, because we feel the tentative moves towards an emotional bond. They are young and the world is just unfolding before them. Your writing is very good, a very enjoyable read.
  15. @W_L wrote: "It pushes back against the “true love” framing that can sometimes dominate teen gay romance, despite the fact that many gay people don’t end up with their first love." I would say most people don't end up with their first love. Maybe an interesting story to check out, I'll take a look. Thanks for your review.
  16. This is a story which Aiden, Marshall-Lee's, best friend, his boyfriend, might label, "A Slice of Life - Our Lives." It's different from most stories in this genre, because their lives are different. Marshall-Lee's older brother Axl is seventeen, and carries the weight of his own family and Aiden on his shoulders. Luckily, Orel and Finn, an unusual couple, because Orel is... unusual, are there to help, along with, Ollie, Orel's brother. You cannot fail to be drawn in by these characters, to love them, and suffer with them, a bit, along the way. This is a gentle story that is full of depth and emotion which might easily make your eyes a little damp by the time you reach the end. How can one not fall in love which such a wonderfully oddball family who are actually survivors of terrible events? They say that every cloud has a silver lining and this story embodies that expression of triumph in adversity. It is very well crafted by an extremely talented author and an excellent book which I highly recommend you to read. Don't miss out on a wonderful, emotional, enlightening story written with the feather like plume of an accomplished storyteller. If you laugh and cry along the way, it just proves a point.

    Chapter 2

The glasses thieves have struck again." "There are no glasses thieves." "That's what they want you to think." I appreciate your little touches of humour, always makes me smile, as does this whole story, crafted with a gentleness that's almost painful because it's so real, the characters live off the pages.
  18. The story is a millennial story, written around 2012 and set in the era of the end of the twentieth century, beginning of the new millennium. A lot has changed with attitudes and life in general over the time between then and now, in particular the last ten years. Today around 1 in 4 young people between 18 and 25 identify as LGBTQ, back when this story was written we lived in another world. I hope the story is an honest reflection, but I also hope we have made progress, greater acceptance, recognition, and support.
  19. I wanted to call Matty, but I was frightened about his phone ringing and his parents being there. Same if I sent a message. I wasn't sure if he'd got his phone hidden. I supposed he had. I would just have to wait to hear from him. After breakfast I was talking to Michael in my room, telling him the story. What happened, the people we'd met, the party at Linda's. I left out the details about getting stoned and stuff, but otherwise he pretty much got the whole picture. "Wow Alex," he sai

    Prologue

Believe it or not, but I don't get to read a lot of authors even on a site titled gayauthors, mostly stories, some good, some less so, but here we have a good book, a proper book, which is what? I did like Marshall-Lee did, I Googled it: Five adjectives that describe books could be: intriguing (mysterious and captivating), well-written (skillfully crafted), informative (factual and educational), unputdownable (impossible to stop reading), and disappointing (unsatisfying). Well this was not disappointing, unsatisfying, quite the opposite, everything but unsatisfying, a very good read by a (I suppose) gay author. Nice!
  23. The British version was excellent, (making love to the Dr Who sound track, an unforgettable clip) never watched the American version. I wonder what anyone thinks who saw both versions? Never found anything else Russell Davies did matched this first dramatic, raw, and upfront series. Just watched Get Real (see link before except US/Canada), can recommend it. A movie of its time.
  24. Sometimes little things can be very important and by pure chance you do something you wouldn't usually bother about, but it turns out almost like you'd had a premonition. That morning everything changed. There was a loud banging on the farmhouse door. At first I paid it no attention, what I mean is I thought I was dreaming, but it didn't stop. It was still dark outside as I dragged myself out of bed. I met Gareth on the landing, he too must have been woken by the noise. We looked at each ot
