A couple of things. Check your Followed Content as well. Following a Member (from their profile) and Following an Author (From their Story Listing) are two different things. Under the Managed Followed Content in the Stories Section, check for "Story Author". You can then verify if you are following whom you think you are following. I don't recall for certain, but I think following the member profile alerts you to member type things (Status, posts), following Story Author alerts you to new stories and following a Story alerts you to new chapters. But you can see exactly what you are following and what the settings are in the Managed Followed Content section for that type of content.

You know, I couldn't help but immediately think of "Red Shirts" when characters used to move a story forward that don't serve other purposes. The Original series is infamous for killing the guy in the red shirt in the first part of the episode. I like your use of salt and pepper as enhancement of flavor vs changing it. "Drawing On the Power of Resonance In Writing" by David Farland is a quick read. As I continue my tour through books on writing by other authors, I stumbled across this one. It makes a pretty good point with several modern examples. Such as how Fantasy novels tend to resonate on Lord of the Rings. Pretty much all of Dungeon and Dragons and rooted there. Avatar has echos of Dances with Wolves. Everything we do builds off the zeitgeist, so to speak. This book is a nice look that gives you perspective on it. If you are aware of it, you can take advantage of it to make your story more relatable and hence more popular. It's worth checking out... though, for some reason, he admits to having Stephanie Meyer as a student.

I just happen to be in Amazon Prime striking some crap off my watch list, when I noticed that the 8 episodes of season 2 are up. so, I do have something on my watch list.

Well, I managed about 10 seconds, heard it was all men's fault and promptly removed it from my watch list. I have enough Karens to deal with without adding magic Karen to the list. If you're into that, enjoy.

As I stated, "Entertaining" and "lack of nagging". Hollywood is paid to entertain. No entertainment, no pay. Certainly there is plenty of agenda driven past stuff, that also happen to be entertaining. Such as Star Trek on television paving the way. Multicultural diverse cast with first interracial kiss on Television back in the 1960s. That was certainly an agenda and a message. Compare the same message pushed today. The current version of Star Trek is just STD. And as popular as one too.

I have been very turned off by the lecturing nonsense that's been released from Hollywood the last few years. The hack Millennial moron writers that have taken on scriptwriting and laid waste to subtlety and entertainment have virtually destroyed an entire industry and murdered my hobby of video collecting. I have over 1300 DVD's and Blu-Rays. But I've only bought 5 in 2021. And 4 of those were 80's and 90's movies on 4K. But I heard Nobody was both good entertainment and lacking any obvious karen nagging on some agenda or narrative or another. So, if you like a good action movie with an interesting little twist, then Nobody is a great movie. It's entertaining with no obvious agenda. Finally. Now if those clowns could keep doing that, I might start buying movies again. I'm not holding my breath.

Another book I'll be using for reference in that endeavor is the Infographic Guide to Grammar. If you are a visual person, this book is the one for you. It's colorful and straightforward. It's worth keeping around if you are the type to keep reference material on hand.
