Myr's post in Can emoticon list be altered slightly? was marked as the answer
You can just type code for emoticon, by the way. Also, the ones you use the most often appear in the "Recently Used" section.
The Emoticon system is... a legacy system in the software and I suspect will be finally replaced with Emojjis in a future version in the not too distant future.
Emojjis work now, by the way. All the modern operating systems have them built in, as far as I can tell. 😎

Myr's post in Editor and beta lists was marked as the answer
Just go to the Editors list:
https://www.gayauthors.org/stories/browse/editors/
Then click on your own name. Yes, you can type your member number in the link I gave above for Tim... but that's hard for a lot of people.

Myr's post in Notifications not populating for story; Twelve Days of Christmas, by @lomax 61 was marked as the answer
If you follow the story and your notifications are set to notify on Like, then you get two notifications.
The follow system in the old software relied on likes. Now they rely on Follow. The Like notifications in the current software are simply legacy support.
Now, having said that, the 4.1 version of the forum software had a limited notification function that artificially cut off the number of people it would notify. This was fixed in the 4.2 forum software, but not yet fixed in the Stories software. We are beta testing some of those changes in the Stories software now.
Current workaround if you are not getting chapter notifications on stories you follow... Like them and toggle your notification for the "Notify me when a chapter is posted to a story I like"

Myr's post in Changing Text For Images was marked as the answer
Somebody would have to title it that way. The default title for images is the file name...

Myr's post in "Gay" Authors? was marked as the answer
"Gay" authors because 15 years ago when we started "Gay" authors, "gaystories.com/.net/.org" were all taken. And "gay" was pretty much what everything was. Then something called GBLT came along... then LBGT... then today's alphabet soup.
All stories are welcome. I just don't think straight ones will have much of an audience here. It is true that our audience skews towards gay teen male stories... but I'm not sure if that is a chicken and egg problem or not.

Myr's post in Former Member was marked as the answer
Per our Terms of Service, we do not remove old posts as a general rule. People that request account removal, generally get changed to Former Member.
As we've seen, removing content has implications that we try to avoid.

Myr's post in Notification Bug - Clubs was marked as the answer
When you follow a forum, you only get notified of new topics.
You must follow a topic to get notifications of replies.
(This single level down of notifications is what has been giving us issues with chapter comment notifications, btw)
I'm getting them.
Is there a time they stop for you?

Myr's post in Feature request - Active/not active was marked as the answer
That is not a built-in capability and we're not really looking to expend our limited resources on creating that (and then maintaining it through updates). We're struggling enough getting the story software updated in a timely manner.

Myr's post in Notifications link goes to top of page was marked as the answer
I think it is a factor of chapter size, whether you have it in cache, and how the browser loads the page. Basically, it jumps to the anchor point (ie the comments), then the rest of the page finishes loading, leaving you in the text. I think.

For the first, you should have options on the image to set as...
As for moving it, I think it probably has to be a request to staff.

Myr's post in Feature Request: A way to Delete a Story/Chapter was marked as the answer
Absolutely not happening. We do plan to put in a request queue in future revisions though.
Here is why:
1. Removing stories messes with the search engines.
2. We get a lot of support requests from readers asking what happened to story x?
3. The Drama Queen problem. Sometimes people throw a hissyfit and delete something and then throw another hissyfit when we can't fix it.
From 15 years experience, I can state unequivocally that allowing unrestricted deleting is a very bad idea.
In the future, even unpublishing will act differently. Unpublish will make chapters unavailable but keep story listing saying author chose to unpublish with reasons given. Again, this is to address the near constant "What happened to story x?" requests we get.

Yes? The error is clear. You hit the search flood control limit.
Wait a few seconds between searches.

Myr's post in Was there a recent behind scenes update with stories section? was marked as the answer
There was a minor update to stories on Sunday. But it shouldn't have done anything with titles.
I'll ask someone with apple stuff to look into it.
