I agree the "it's magic" or "It's psionics" is enough in most cases in Fantasy and SciFi. Those two genres were made for Infodumps as well.

It's playing havoc on the asthmas as well.

I disagree somewhat. When I read a story, and it has too little detail, I'm usually put off by it. I'm thinking to myself, "What the hell man, this is your story, your world, paint the damn picture." There is a very fine line between not enough details, and too many. Trying to find that happy balance is the main objective. Yes, let the reader use their imagination to fill in the gaps, but you need to put stuff in there to get them to see it as you see it. Setting the stage is what I call it. For Example: The Acela Club lounge was not like a lounge found in airports, with their fancy dressing and overabundance of hedonism. Instead, it was a simple affair, slightly dated but functional. The hallway from the check-in counter held a row of semi-private desks, with another hallway branching off to club exclusive restrooms. Walking into the main area, a table laid out with individually wrapped snacks sat just off to the side. On the counter next to it was the soda machine, ice dispenser, and hot coffee station. Scattered around the medium size room, was a scattering of sitting areas made up of comfy armchairs and couches. Small tables dotted between them. On the back wall was two arrival and departure screens. Mount on the wall in separate areas was two flat-screen TVs. One was showing Headline News, while the other had a remote near it. It currently was playing NHLTV. The four teens sat there with drinks and snacks already, when Jeremy, Travis, and the two dads walked over. Just my opinion on it.

Yeah. The go to bed between 11:00 and 12:00 and up fully wide awake at 4:00 was getting old quickly.

Classwork is done for today. Did some writing for TC4. Read a chapter for an off-site story. The hands are starting to cramp up, so I am about to take a break from typing. I can still use a mouse and a few keys... so off to play some Skyrim, on my Laptop. Even though I know I can hit " ` " and type in "tgm", I will refrain from doing so. God Mode is a cheat I will never use. HOWEVER... player.additem 0000000f 999 a few times will make my life easier. But I won't do that either. Unless it's going to take me forever to gather up 5000 gold for my first house in Whiterun. Just got the title Thane last night. Peace, Love, Recycle. EDIT, only joking about using the gold cheat. My first run through of any game, is pure. After that, I'm a cheat using bastard.

I think I need to start using more sexy avatars. LOL. The first one I used to use, I called the naughty angel. It was a hand-drawn male torso, with angelic wings, and the guy had red hair. However, where the torso was cropped, you didn't see wang but you did catch the pubes. Myr took it down, and sent me a PM saying why, and said I could re-upload it if I cut the pubes off. Really sorry to hear about your day @CassieQ, and I totally agree about fraking cancer. Too many in my family has had it.

My paganistic-self understands the reason for a live tree, but, yeah, it's a lot more wasteful now. What Kitt's family did/does with the recycling and planting two for every one cut, that's the right direction to go. Both the Rockafeller and White House trees go to a lumber mill and get turned into building material that is then donated to HUD. We used to do live trees until the cat started drinking the tree water, and eating the tinsel. Which is not good, and when they don't pass all the way, pulling it out is a chore. Plastic trees and I like the pre-lighted ones. Stopping by to catch up on notifications and a PM or two.

So... I "found" a copy of Skyrim - Legendary Edition, with the 1.9 patch and all DLC. As long as I play on the laptop, I don't get sick. AWESOME!!! I'll see everyone tomorrow. Need to get some stuff done, before I head to bed.

It was an enjoyable story. Good to see the use of other paranormal creatures, aside from shifters. I like what I saw of Jody, and how he and Chester reacted at the end.

@AC Benus and @dughlas, I once made the statement that, "tim has the ability to write his hand into your chest, where he grabs your heart and squeezes it for all he's worth." Which, I believe is a good thing. I can't remember how I knew when I Beta Read it, but I knew tim wasn't talking about himself in this story.

I ended up talking to my uncle earlier about this. I forget how it came up, I mentioned mom already knew. His response, "We all knew. If someone didn't they expected it. You were flaming back then." LOL

Another good one to write too. Can also be used for meditation, and sleepy time music.

I can't say if you should or shouldn't tell her. It took me years to tell my mother that I was gay, and she already knew. Listen to your gut... if it's saying this is not the right time, it may not be.

Good morning, DiC'ers. I just looked at the clock and saw that it was still morning. It feels later than it actually is. Read a couple of Anthology Stories, and I do believe there is a good crop of them this time. (Not just saying that, because I have one in the collection, and one of my Favorite Authors has one as well, see a couple of posts above. Hint, Hint...)

This was a fantastic story. I liked how you used some current events to add a little depth to it. Now I am wanting a story on the aftermath, and the 'grandchildren' momma knows about.
