gender & sexuality My Gender Identity
MacGreg commented on Thorn Wilde's blog entry in The Fantastic Mr. Wilde
Thank you for telling your story, Thorn, especially on this day. It is a tragedy what is happening to our trans family, and your story brings some light into the darkness of the community. I applaud you your decision to be YOU. Nothing is more important than accepting who you are first, so that you can motivate and inspire acceptance in others. I've had Carl Jung on the mind lately, and this quote is a good one: "A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them. As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being. Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves." Continue being brave.- 23 comments

My comment was meant in a general sense that harmless words can make people cringe. I suppose, though, that if a word conjures up a painful memory for someone, it's understandable that it would make them cringe hearing it again.

Absolutely.

People shouldn't be offended by such benign words.

Good night, s.b.

Maybe he sent you the link as a hint for a gift for him.

I'd wanted to see it in theaters when it was released, but I didn't pay attention to when that was. Glad to have seen it now.

The entire movie is comprised of paintings, done by 100 artists in Van Gogh style.

Watched this film today. Brilliantly executed. Puts the "C" in creative.

Have a good night, Def.

@Solivagant I'm sorry you went through that. But I imagine the experience made you a stronger person. I wouldn't travel back in time to change anything. Like molly, all of my choices, good and bad, make up the fabric of who I am. Maybe the one event I wish I'd handled differently is my father's passing. We were estranged for a long time, and when my brother informed me that he was dying, I didn't drop what I was doing to go see him. Hard to say if I would have been better off saying goodbye to him, but it still nags at me that I'll never know now.

Yes, on air quality action days. But many wood or pellet stoves are exempt.
-
With freezing drizzle. Really wish I had a fireplace on days like this. How are you, molly?
-
It's cold.

Sounds like graupel.

There are plenty of people named Mike, Michael, Mikie. Doesn't mean tim should change his name. But, not up to me.

Hello everyone.
-
Hello molly.
-
Are you really considering changing your name?

This was on my radar last year to read. Thanks for bringing it to my attention again, puppi. -
I'd say you've made your position crystal clear, A.
-
You got this, A. You've been doing great in your courses so far. You should not be this hard on yourself. Just buckle down and get done what needs to get done. If you'd like a kick to the booty, you know I'd be happy to assist.

Hello, Zen.

Excellent.
