    I'm On a New Drug

You'll have time to do what you love. You're not going anywhere yet. And if anyone can fight through this, it's you, s.b. Keep writing it all down and sharing it with the world.

    Punctured Hope

Thanks for the comments. Just needed to expel a few things.
  3. I couldn't handle this one, Gary. Too nerve-racking, emotional, anxiety-ridden. When Kellar took Tobyn's pillow just so he could keep his scent nearby, I got a major lump in my throat. OK, more than that. Ugh. Too much. But incredibly good, like all of the other chapters before it. You're the master of story-telling.
  4. In dreams… Subconscious turns acute. Time becomes irrelevant, And distance won't refute. In dreams… Grand illusions are misspent. Betrayal becomes rampant, And desire turns discontent. In dreams… Surrealism darkens night. Troubled images expand, And rationale takes flight. In dreams… Visions mirror self-doubt. Transgressions flatten truth, And malice stings throughout. In dreams… Crue

    In Silence

Your poem captures the essence of D/s beautifully. I'm sure your man is pleased. Thanks for sharing it with us.

    Unwary

Good, or I'd have to come up there...

    Unwary

You are never alone. Got that? Never.

    Pandora's Song

"Lost seasons" - you mentioned it twice, which is poignant. Sometimes, we must go through the seasons, even through drudgery, to find the summer sun. Your poem is heartfelt and relatable. Thank you for sharing.

    A Moment

A poem that tears at the heartstrings. Took me a while to get here and comment. Well done. As always, you are the adroit poet. I feel honored that my poem provided you inspiration for yours, but sadness compounds sadness. It's a good thing writing is so cathartic. Cheers, my friend - Mac

    Cursed

I can't imagine anyone deserting you. But I can empathize with the sentiments of your poem extremely well. You always weave emotions into your words so well, Gary. Skillfully captured. Wishing you solace and a chance for sleep - we all need it around here. <hugs>
  11. Dreams encased in shadows, Echoes punctured by distance - I catch glimpses of your winsome figure In the periphery of my yearning. Spectral images turn transparent Amidst the recurrences of futility, Following broken paths of misfortune I’m forced to navigate alone. Cursed be the happenstance which bonded, Then dismantled our hand-in-glove affection, Like a cruel jester performing its final farce On participants resistant to th

    Breakable

Your prose stings. Punctures the heart. I don't want to even imagine... That's why your writing is so powerful.

    Chapter 1

Love it so far, Hudson. You've already woven a mystery (and a sensual one, at that), causing us readers to crave more. Marcus and Andy are both interesting and complex characters, and I'm itching to read the next installment to discover more about them and what transpired at Marcus' place. My favorite sentence: "Evergreens, that’s what Andy smelled like pressed up against him; he smelled like a trek through untainted woodlands." Great job, my friend. Cheers - Mac

    F.U.C.

I'm very sorry about your mother, JP. Cancer is an untamed beast that affects everyone in some way or another. F.U.C. <hugs>
  15. Geron, you picked up on all of the nuances of these characters. Don't discount Ben's backbone quite yet (not giving away any spoilers). As for Curtis - those who demand the most control are the ones who feel the weakest. That's how bullies are, and he's the king of that. Thanks for your comments, my friend. Greatly appreciated. Cheers - Mac

    Hypnagogic Dreams

If I told it all in the beginning, then it wouldn't be a very interesting read. Thanks for your comments, Geron. Baggage not yet placed on the platform - I love the expression. It's apropos. The "baggage" will come up soon enough. It's kind of weird, reading comments from older chapters, because I feel the story has progressed so much farther, and yet, you don't know those parts yet. Hope you'll continue to read and enjoy. Cheers - Mac
  17. We close doors, we build fences, we encircle ourselves with protective walls. It's what we all do, at one time or another. Recognizing that you have barriers that need removal is a step in the right direction. Let fresh air, and new experiences, in. You're at a turning point with the end of Morningstar and the beginning of something else on the horizon, whether it's writing or going on an adventure or delving into something altogether different from what you've done in the past. You said it well: Of spring glory Somber and lulling A time for reflection Moments for peace I rise And open the blinds To a new day Cheers, my friend. Great poetry, as always.

    Mother's Day

I know it all too well. Been through that one already.

    Mother's Day

Anyone who says you should be over it is a piece of shit. You don't get over losing a parent - even ones you didn't even like.

    Mother's Day

I got a little choked up, too. Fifteen is too young for any child to lose a parent, especially one that is so loved. I'm sure there are many memory-triggers that you experience regarding her, and undoubtedly Mother's Day is one of the hardest to deal with. I'm sorry, tim. Definitely, she's proud of the man you've become. xo

    Hospital Visit

Whether in a hospital room, in a hospice room, in a bedroom, or anywhere, being witness to a life expiring is heartbreaking. You captured the sentiment. I'm sorry for your loss.

    Confrontation

Hey Skittles - thank you for your in-depth comments about this chapter, and the story itself. I managed to touch on a few readers' raw nerves with this chapter, and I won't exclude myself in that statement. You're right, life is not all happy, happy, joy, joy. Bad stuff happens. Shitty stuff happens. Finding a path to healing is crucial. We all want Travis to heal. I had to read your comment a couple of times, just as you had to read the chapter a couple of times, before I could respond, because your words punctured me a bit. Thank you for being a supporter of this story. xo
