    Thanks! I guess this could be categorized as flash fiction. Marcus and Andy are characters from another story I wrote a little while back, which you may have read at one point I've been editing and re-working that piece, so these boys were fresh on my mind.

    Sasha - I am so impressed with the level of detail you've woven into this story (and other stories). I can only imagine the amount of research that you put into your writing, and I aspire to be as detail-oriented as you are. Details about Toronto, northern Ontario, train schedules and travel times, Emmett's research area, Jian's Chinese heritage--all feel authentic and accurate. This is coming from a Chinese-speaking Torontonian. I think that's why this is one of my favourite stories of yours. The only question I had was this term Jian used: "Tángguǒ." I don't recognize it and have been racking my brain guessing what it is in Chinese. Help?

    azaroth noted in a chapter 3 review that Erik's tattoo was difficult to imagine. So I asked Google what it had and these are fairly close approximations, particularly the shading in the first picture, and way the smoke travels in the second picture. Hope that helps!
