    Chapter 234

Ouch. Didn't see that PRT, SEPTA or PA city bus coming. Just kidding. Without winter tires it won't make it to NNY, let alone this far north ❄️ 🎅🏼. (Snowball fight?). Jogging option disappeared a few years ago BC. (Before Covid NOT the OLDER period 🦖.) Some parts no longer under OEM warranty. Last week's 3-week Post-Surgery check-up revealed 'surface' things taking longer to than expected to "bond". So I get to repeat visit in 3 more weeks. Good news is I am dealing directly with head of surgery at University hospital who has a great "Bedside Manner". 🤞🏼'Day Surgery' had me up, out and walking (flat & some stairs) that afternoon. Then the anesthesia wore off. Before snow, freezing rain etc arrived last night, average was .5 to 1.5km / day. (1/3 to 1 U.S. miles). Plan to double that weekly with caution. When you are young and carefree, winter for most can be just another playtime. To quote my nieces "M'eh". Take Care Cal. 🫂

    Chapter 234

I gladly echo the comments, sentiments and compliments of those who have already posted @CLJobe. As to your statement above Cal, regarding the pending (?) conclusion of this epic 'tour de force', (and forgive me if I stated it earlier, somewhere along the way); this 'Never Ending Story' reminds me of the 'Winchester Mystery House*' in San Jose, CA (at 160+ rooms, it's a 'mansion'). It was built, renovated, torn down and rebuilt numerous times over 5 decades from 1884 to 1922 by Sarah Winchester, who was born in New Haven, CT. (the connection to this story and 'Angel's Home.' ) The most prevalent story is that Mrs. Winchester was haunted by the spirits of those killed by Winchester rifles, the company owned by her husband. After his death, a psychic told her that to evade the spirits, she would have to move out west, buy a home, and build nonstop. Hence the house. * https://winchestermysteryhouse.com/sarahs-story/ Ergo, if this story continues forever, so will you Cal. Am I overreaching ... a bit? Literary or Poetic License (or both)? Hey, these stories are all about fiction (although our dear friend Carlos Hazday would beg to differ). Back to the story, I love the secret path the peanuts took from Ivan's farm to Angel's Home and the kitchen. BTW, does Ivan own shares of Apple, because each new generation of his family starts with an 'i'. 🙄 Thinking of Ivan's Grandfather, Armand hears a rocking chair. And while that creaking sound is synonymous with GG 🐦, that's only because if each of the dearly departed is happily rocking away, then Heaven needs a big supply of WD-40. "And yes, I had to share my dessert with not only Richie and Ronnie’s children but all the little ones who sat with me in the game room. I was surrounded by kids, and I loved it", pretty much sums up Armand's raison d'etre. To those of you between the 32nd and 49th parallels (stop looking it up, it's the USA), plus Alaska, Guam, Hawai'i, PR and all the troops and others serving abroad, have a safe, Happy Thanksgiving. (and if you can, help those less fortunate during the holidays. Sometimes a hand out really is a helping hand). Take care Cal. We'll be here waiting patiently. 🫂

    Grant Chapter 7

Very informative chapter Preston. It answers most of my questions and comments and raises a few more. Hmm, somebody planning some highjinks, adventures, and mysteries for coming chapters, and some new questions; like if Mitchell / Sebastian (M/S) Dad is 'Peter Pan', is his Mom 'Wendy'? Guessing NDHQ is 'Neverland'. MIA are Piglet, Roo & 'Tink'? Although Dad said the rest of the ship's crew was unaware of his true work, (other than being from 'old money' with a career in linguistics), M/S must have a 'Minder' or two. The plot thickens, like a simmering pot of ... Magical Manx Beef Stew*? * https://www.iommeats.com/recipes/recipe/?id=15
  5. Perhaps misread your 'name', or a spelling error? Is it DrSEESall ? Not casting asspertions. As for the 'winfall' $450K each from evil Waste of Skin fathers liquid assets (bank accts, funds, CD's etc), GA PoA gives brothers immediate access. Once the house is sold, it's just a matter of division. IF their mother died without a will anything she had went to husband including ownership of house. Since Georgia has no Inheritance Tax, they owe nothing that way. Probate does not apply as dear old dad is still alive. It's a simple transfer of ownership. Eagerly awaiting next chapters.
  6. Rottie not big enough, try Great Dane / Cane Corso mix. Giant.
  7. @weinerdog is correct in his assessment of Aloysius so far, as is @drsawzall vis-à-vis kidnapping Bryson/Jeremy. This just became a federal crime since it involves Assholelysious transporting Jeremy across State line into Georgia. Add to that 'forcible confinement' of kidnapped person, along with 'intent' and 'premeditation', means Aloysius is in for a world of hurt. It also gives Jeremy's lawyer significant evidence proofing Jeremy assumed a false identity out of fear for his life, enough proof to have the judge quash the arrest, and vacate the charges the DA & ADA want (election year or not), as long as Jeremy makes everything 'right' with back taxes paid to IRS. On the housing issue Jeremy and Derek are facing, I suspect Jenny may offer them refuge in her house since she is all alone.

    Starting Over?

Great story so far Lee. The guys certainly have a lot to deal with, hopefully Jeremy's memory comes back sooner rather than later, and fully intact. As for Mrs. Perch taking in Jeremy to live until he's able to return to work, IF he can remember his electrical training, that may be very problematic. After dealing with the terrible loss of her husband William, and his funeral, Jenny is facing the question of whether his business can survive, and if he has both LIFE and Business insurance. Then there is the possibility of her blaming Jeremy for William's death. (when on fact he heroically, if unconsciously, saved Jeremy). Your opening comment for this chapter hit directly home, as I had that same situation 10 years ago when my parents died within months of each other. Never easy. 🫂

    Chapter 12

In virtually every relationship there is a catalyst that sets things in motion. Whether for a good outcome, a bad outcome, or for a neutral one that is often thought of as "sitting on the fence" or "undecided". Waiting for a "deciding factor". As to "fugue' or "gaslighting" involving Micco (and why not Chase)? Just perhaps, as has been shown in real analysis, a combination of both. Psychiatry was once (best?) described like someone spinning plates, trying to keep them from crashing down. In the past psychiatry believed hysteria or epilepsy brought on fugue or dissociative states. In the last 50 years, 'fugue' is most often described as a period of loss of awareness (or confusion) of one's identity, often coupled with flight from a persons 'usual' environment. But most agree it is triggered by stress; including PTSD, PTSI and other factors. IMHO, both are fleeing from something they both want and fear, and can't reconcile.

    Chapter 233

A short chapter but absolutely stuffed full of love, that you imbue in most everything you publish Cal. Soup is often the one food most people crave. They remember their favourite as a child, which was a 'comfort food' for them. (As it should be for every child, and yes everyone else). A steaming bowl or mug of cream of tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. Or homemade soup. It can be chicken or turkey made from the bones left over from Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, simmered for hours with vegetables, rice or barley. Or with all the Sunday fishing the 'Home' boys do, a hearty bowl of chowder? (Sorry, trip down memory lane). Carl's fear for his son needs attention. Even with his 'father' in prison, Carl is terrorized by worry. Colin and Richie will help on the legal side, while the rest of the family will lend support. The life lessons (by example, support and love) of Armand and Colin and GG 🐦 will endure. Thank you again @CLJobe 🫂

    Grant Chapter 6

Great Chapter Preston. Good visit by "Tassie" mates and schoolmates. Questions/comments from Chapter 5 still stand. (Do 'we' suspect you've something up your sleeve? Hmm, history says ... Maybe? .)

    Grant Chapter 5

Wow, a terrific chapter Preston, and a trip back to my 'Gap Year' visit to UK, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Mann. Almost 90% of what you described. I imagine a good and educational time will be had by all. Still trying to figure out the Grant / Grantly family dynamics, source of income & wealth and Sebastian / Mitchell's parents 'protection' of him. For the unaware, the self-governing Isle of Mann is neither part of UK or of EU, but rather what amounts to a 'protectorate' of the UK. Mann's status, like some 'Channel Islands' is as a tax haven, offshore banking destination, (allegedly a tax 'dodge' for some), International Insurance, IT, and online gambling enterprises, is a draw for some 'business people'. But it has also brought issues (allegedly) including money laundering, financial crime and the investigations into facilitating terrorism financing. 🔎 Ooh, is that information a possible 'Spoiler Alert'? Plot development? Or just a pain in the ____?

    Chapter 232

Thank you Cal, for this new brief chapter; and like others (@drsawzall and his "Will the circle, be unbroken..."), I sense closure coming ... too soon. While it is good to see GG 🐦, visiting and talking, now to Charles (aka ChefBoy) and many others as well through the years, I don't like to think of her as a harbinger of what is looming. GG needs to continue being a benevolent spirit that brings help, often closure, but usually peace of mind to those (mostly children at the 'Home') who have lost their families. My fear of heights keeps me from cliffs, and yet... Pierre inviting “Dad, I want you and Pop to come back with me (to Paris) ... to see the cottage", has me concerned of them going to sleep in each other's arms at Grandmere Lavigne's in Paris ... but they need to return home alive and kicking, rather than scaring their latest 'grandchildren' at Angel's Home, by not allowing them to say thank you and good bye. Not asking for much am I? 🫂

    Chapter 37 S1

Thank you for this nice chapter Bill. A return home for everyone, but Devon's mom is out of sorts or "The odd person out" with all the males now 'Skinwalkers', but it's more than that. With Mac now a skinwalker it reminds Devin's mom that she won't live as long as her husband. The ability to change did come in handy when the mother elk charged at them in the woods. Looking forward to the boys heading off to college.

    Russ

An old saying comes to mind, "In for a penny, In for a pound". Now I'm just wondering if Russ can be trusted (about as far a Brian & Gordon can throw him ... horizontally NOT vertically off a building)? Like inviting an ex-PM to join a meeting. Oh my lord. Good thing the lads asked Marina if Toby's school mate Noah would be interested being a 'plus one' for the private Wetland Centre tour and dinner afterwards. Best to have someone else along, just in case. Safety in numbers! 👨🏼‍🦱+ 🙋🏼‍♂️ + 🐞 + 🦎 = ?

    Chapter 20

Congrats on loosing 80 lbs on Keto diet. I like idea of burning fat instead of carbs, but it's restrictive and can be $$. Working with Dr on flexible diet with alternating Keto while recovering from surgery for next 8 +/- wks (no workouts involving core while things "knit/mesh back together). "Accident"? I didn't 'say' that, or 'incident'. 🤐

    Chapter 20

Another good chapter, which I didn't mind waiting for Justin. Good thing Robin was there to take over driving for Dakota. Can't risk him being in an ________ (NO, NO, forget I thought of that. Banish that as any plot idea). Good solution for writers block is to take Robin's grocery choices as 'food for thought' (sorry .), and do a good BBQ steak or slow-cooked chuck roast. In either case, a fantastic steak sauce helps both of those. Not to spicy or peppery, less Worcestershire, HP (depending on where you live) or Heinz 57. But something with a little bite. And a really nice red wine: California Red billed as "A Wine to die for". What's for dinner? 🍷🥩

    Chapter 14

Time for Rodeo? Yippee yi yo kayah! Wolves as cowboys? Corbin is given the unique privilege of being 'made' part of the pack! Stuck up insurance adjuster Ms. Jeffries, most assuredly "pissed herself". Those I knew in Texas always carry a pair of cowboy boots when visiting ranches, for things like snakes, cow patties etc." Nice Saturday chapter @kbois.

    Chapter 231

" I apologize for taking a long time to post this chapter. Old age has a way to slow you up". So says @CLJobe ? Calvin if old age is slowing you down, the results are great chapters taking a little longer to reach us. That's a fair trade off. (But doesn't offset reader's concerns for your well being). I'm glad the diagnosis for Colin's fatigue is 'builderitis'. (Affects people in construction?) Is the model apartment resembling Armand & Colin's home a downsizing hint by Colin (or not, since no 3rd room with lots of windows that could be a studio). Carl and Carla have a baby boy. Perhaps named Carlson (Carl's son). Armand's paintings of their grandchildren are "so thoughtful" and "special gifts and good memories" as @akascrubber mentioned. But as Armand thought: "Someday they (the children) will be amazed at the value of that painting". An original 'Arrow' could pay for college, but I suspect trust funds will cover college or trade school educations and allow the children to truly cherish their grandpa's artwork. 🫂 This weekend 11·11·11 (11th hour, 11th day, of the 11th month) Nov.11th celebrates Remembrance and Veteran's Day. Something Arrow might paint?

    Chapter 13

I knoooooow but couldn't find bassturd Scar MOG as he's probably hiding in same litter box as Huntington, so sadly used the good lion. (and as soon as I posted I felt a Gibb's 'tap' ... Oww). 😒

    Chapter 13

Funny (odd or ha-ha?) how the more 'seasoned'* some people are, and no matter how much they rail against the years, they keep trotting out certain tropes, as if they are somehow "priceless" (priced less?). Just an observation. Or as my grandfather once said: " That comment plus 50 cents will buy a cup of coffee. Which one don't you need"? * "That's some spicy meatball"
  22. Anton_Cloche

    Chapter 13

Ou deux ancients centimes? As for Corbin's ranch being torched in Texas? "Something wicked this way comes".

    Settling In

"...funds that went to the church..." Robert, this story keeps getting better and better. As a direct result of collusion between their father and his church-member lawyer, senior church leaders (who knew, or might have know) and the previous law firm taken over the the suspiciously vague estate lawyer for their father, means anyone who received, shared, distributed or benefited from 'tainted' funds have failed the "due diligence" test, and can be sued for losses, damages, restitution (through insurance, sales of assets etc.). Yes it's a bit of a slog, but that's what Mhairi and Owain's own lawyer is for. And instead of just 10's or 100's of thousands of £, now they could be talking about £millions.* ⚖️ 🤑 When they win, them should receive both compensatory and punitive awards, with expenses paid by losers. * FYI (primarily for UK and some Commonwealth nations): "Sums received as compensation or damages for any wrong or injury suffered by an individual in his person or in his profession or vocation are not subject to Capital Gains Tax or inheritance tax because of section 51 (2) TCGA 1992".

    Howloween 3

Geez Louise! In my defense, I was being PUNy about wolves PACKing on Turkey Day and it being a HOWLing success. NOT about bigger ButterBalls, gourds (squash), green beans with ONION Rings (not 'other' rings or Ox Balls) tossed salad with special sauce, and Chestnuts* and Andouille Sausage in their Stuffing. And for dessert pumpkin (not Pumped Kin) pie with fresh whipped cream. (Not whips & cream). * BTW, make sure you use Sweet Chestnuts NOT Horse Chestnuts as they are poisonous and painful way to die). ** Andouille SAUSAGE As for Randy, Trevor and Skyler, I'm sure they can get into throuple, I mean 'trouble' all on their own. As can the PA AlphaBet quintet. Happy Thanksgiving. Give it your best.
