A great chapter, I get that both guys like the physical feel of a letter, I am like that with birthday and Xmas cards I hate e-cards. I still buy birthday cards and send Xmas cards every year, but I never get enough real Xmas cards, I know that it’s expensive to post them but they are real. just like a real Xmas tree . 😀. I just wished that we could get a new chapter ever few days instead of once a week

The name Kai in Hawaii means the sea in Welsh Keeper of the keys earth Māori it means food it’s a gender neutral name also of Japanese origin

It’s marked as complete

A good chapter its a shame that billy is still being a hypocrite and keeping his relationship with Johnny a secret, he is just so typical of these evangelists they all have something to hide from their followers 🤬😈

Randy is being an ass, but given his attitude towards his son and wife that doesn’t surprise me. I would have thought that Susan would get the house and alimony in the divorce so that she can support herself and Stanley but I don’t know what the laws are around divorce in their state

One thing that was mentioned was that Eloise went off the pill to have a baby, did she and Phil discuss this? Did she do this deliberately thinking that it might’ve brought them closer? We know that Phil didn’t want children as he said that he had a vasectomy after Roger was born, him saying that makes me think that Eloise trapped him in the marriage, and if she did so she can only blame herself for the situation, unfortunately she is dead so there's no way of knowing if this is what she did. Society puts so much pressure on people to have a family that people are made to feel incomplete if they haven’t produced children 🧒 @Summerabbacat would remember a certain nasty male politician who called Australia’s first female Prime Minister Julia Gillard barren because she didn’t have children, not that it’s any of his business as to why Julia and her fiancé didn’t have children, maybe they didn’t want children or couldn’t have them but he didn’t think of that because he was so narrow minded and bigoted because the Prime Minister was a woman, I doubt he would have treated any male Prime Minister like that.

My father’s 2 sisters had power of attorney and enduring guardianship for his affairs after we found out that he was being conned out of his money by all of the garbage that people were sending him when his details were sold by the reader’s digest he had Alzheimer’s disease. I couldn’t do it as I live in London, this was arranged by a solicitor in Sydney. As one of my aunts was a retired account manager she kept meticulous records of all of dad’s finances. The NSW Public Guardian also does this if you cannot manage your affairs due to old age etc.

Let’s hope that the accountant is reputable and no fiddling the books

Roger the dodger, he will probably be an angry old codger 😀

I really enjoyed reading this chapter, I never knew either of my grandfathers, my dad’s father died of stomach cancer before I was born, my maternal grandfather was an alcoholic and I think that I only visited him once, my grandparents were divorced a long time before my parents were married.

I would love to know more about you4 experiences in the Marine Corps Boot camp

Another great chapter @Ronyx I think that Phil grew up in the 50’s?
-
Sorry to hear that about your friend’s son disowning his father just because of who his father was, I hope that the son didn’t get anything from the will as he deserves nothing for treating his father appallingly 🤬

I think that the heating is on high in the nursing home 😂

I used to compare my dickie bird with the boy next door, we couldn’t have been more than 5 years old at the time, it was just harmless fun. One of the boys in my class had an above ground pool at home, I was at his house in the pool with him and his brother, for some reason they both wanted to be naked in the pool, I didn’t want to be in the same pool because I thought they might wee in it, not realising that I had the chance to see two boys in the buff, I wasn’t more than 11 years old at the time. I hadn’t thought of them in a long time.

Have you read the book This Body of Water by Weston Smith? It’s his story of coming out as gay in the Mormon church, it’s an interesting book I heard about the book on Kyle Ashworth’s show Latter Gay stories, I have found these stories to be fascinating

A lot of these religious cults have a lot to answer for, they are just nasty controlling organisations , Religion is the root of all evil 😈 all of the wars and misery is caused in the name of religion.

The Funeral and Dominic Adjusting
Bft commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The Funeral and Dominic Adjusting
I think that Dylan and Dominic handled the viewings well . They should both move into the condo that Lacy bought instead of living in the flat, new house and a new start would help them with their grief
