In the Quiet After After the sirens fade, A heavy silence fills the air, For those who stood when duty called And gave a life of courage there. There was no promise of return, Only the weight of what must be done, Stepping forward at the hardest hour While others turned away to run. Now their badges rest, and flags are still, Their names are spoken soft and clear, Not only carved in grief and stone, Remembered now and coming years. Their homes now are forever changed, Families left with memory and prayer, We all pause, with heads bowed low, To honour those no longer there. And though their watch has ended now, Their service does not pass away— It lives in memory, love, and duty, And in the light of every day.

Who needs teeth really? You have a blender.

No, it's an epidemic in some places.

Good grief.

Interesting. People are...people. We should stop flattering ourselves by saying how intelligent we are. I have seen too much, dealt with too much. Nothing applies to them, for example, oh don't drink and drive doesn't apply to me, I can hold my booze. Yeah, keep saying that as I search your bloody smashed up body for your ID, so I can go visit your family and explain why you are never coming home again. I'm sure most of us who have ever worked with people, in whatever capacity, can say the same, or similar things. It's too bad your manager was out of the office. Yeah, you don't need to be committing fraud. Sometimes, sorry nope is the only answer we can give. It was good of you to give her some info, that's great service. At some point, most of us learn (usually via the school of hard knocks) that we need to be more on top of things and to not procrastinate. Hopefully, this woman realized her mistakes and doesn't make the same ones in the future.

I have a personal chef to keep me on track. LOL. he's kinda cute too so that's a bonus. Oh, I gained too much weight once. Never again. It's much easier to keep fit than it is to lose fat.

Yeah, you cannot progress without pushing the limit. It doesn't have to be insane. I'm glad you found something you like and is working for you. There is some talk here about a year with a personal trainer being available by prescription from a doctor. People who work out after cancer treatments live longer. They know many people cannot afford a trainer. They think it will end up saving us money. I'm sure it will go no where however. We need to exercise properly, led by someone with the right skill set. If we did, we'd be healthy, we'd less fat and obese. Physical fitness is tied to so many things. tim has a workout to follow, that includes weight training 3x a week and a daily walk. He's sleeping a little better and eating better. Maybe he'll put on a little weight. Feeling better is my goal for him. I work out at the gym at work during my lunch hours, so it's convenient (and free). I've managed to keep the middled age spread at bay. Likely giving up booze and a lot carbs has helped that too. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like great weather to me. It's already too hot here and it's not even summer.

I hope you everything works out for you.

Hopefully the new one will arrive soon.

Yup.

Thanks, k. Things are okay and he should be home tomorrow. He just needs to take his time and get back to normal. He was complaining he was bored and wanted his knitting but you know psych wards and sharp objects are not encouraged. I hope your holidays are going as planned and you're having a great time.

As of this morning's visit, the doctor thinks I can bring him home tomorrow. It is tough not having him with me. I understand why they didn't want me to see him yesterday. He was confused and if he didn't remember me that would just add to his upset. So, it made sense. I did see him in the morning today and I'll go back this evening as well. he's quiet but he did remember me this time, thankfully. Right now yard work for my mom and walking the dog.

Thank you, spyke. I'm grateful for your kind thoughts. I'll be happy when I can bring him home.

Thank you, Page. We can use them and are grateful.

Thanks, Reader. The doctor called a little while ago. tim is more aware of his surroundings and the date and his name. I'm going in the morning and hope they will let me see him. Thank you, A. I hope you're well.

Thanks very much Gary.

Well, I'm home alone, which is what was expected. I did not see tim, as the doctor thought it best, but I was told things were okay. I guess there were some issues. he had a seizure after the treatment, but was resting when I left. The doctor said tim wasn't really aware of where he was or the date, so they are keeping him overnight. If he's better tomorrow they will move him to our local hospital that has a medical psych floor. We hope that will be only for a day or two. I'm glad I have the lawn to look after and the dog to walk. I'll let you know more when I do.

tim mentioned (well, said while shaking me by the shoulder) that you posted something I should come and read. I had hoped it was about WWII Allied fighter jets or the Luftwaffe, but cowboys is fine. Seriously, it's very good so far (and I'm sure the rest of the way) and I look forward to the next chapter.

One of my favourite days. We've only had two cups so far. I'm sure we'll add a couple more before the day is over. tim has baked up a storm today. Apple brownies, 2 pans of date squares and some oatmeal bars. Some of that is destined for the freezer. It smells amazing in here. While all of those things are wonderful. It's the apple brownies that I like the most. Simple and delicious.

That's wonderful. Good for you. It's 17 for tim and I. Hard to believe sometimes - that's not a negative.

Trust me, husbands are not so easily replaced.

he'd like the steam cleaning thing for sure.

Just toss it out. It's showing its true colours. I didn't buy a new stove but I did buy a new air fryer and toaster oven. It was time. I'm thinking about a new full size stove too and mattress. Big ticket items, but nothing lasts forever.

I / we can't fix it for you. If I could, I would. And I cannot imagine the energy it takes for you to fight each day, to live, to breath because I know it is a fight and it is hard and I know you wonder if the reward is worth the cost. Only you can decide that and those words are so very hard for me to say.
