    Chapter 1

Well, you know my background. I don't do vague well, but that is not your fault! It's always been my job to find the answer. I'm glad I didn't upset you. I thought the story was brilliant and realistically written. If I were Lyle, I would be clawing for an answer to the last text.

    Chapter 1

Interesting. While the story is sad in itself, the ending just didn't work for me. The writing is good, it's not that, and I like the format, the Japanese telephone thing is a lovely idea. I'm sorry, I can't articulate what it is. Perhaps just the abruptness of a new voice. I don't know. I figured out the relevance of the date, still perhaps some foreshadowing on other birthdays may have helped me. If Lyle said something odd had happened for instance. Anyway, your writing is great and I enjoyed Lyle's messages. It's a great idea. Sorry, to be somewhat negative. Mike
  3. A rather interesting take on the 'haunted house' theme. We've had some rather odd 'happenings' in our house and this touches on those. A thoughtful and rather gentle haunted house story. I enjoyed it and recommend it.

    Chapter 1

I know this was a bit of an experiment. It's a haunted house, or maybe a lost house, lonely ... ready for some company. I've always enjoyed haunted house stories but they are normally about past occupants rather than what the house itself feels. Nice job.
  5. This bothers me for a number of reasons. People writing with A.I. and passing themselves off as 'authors' does as well. I understand you attempting to help them, but they don't want help, they want attention, an ego boost. I've watched you write and create. I watched you labour and research and toss things out. You care about what you are doing. And if I'm honest, I don't believe that you can truly stop. You have a gift and a soul and you are driven to create whether you are writing or working with fibre. I'm sure if I looked at your Word documents there are numerous stories there in various states of completion. I know that you have at least four knitting projects on the go as well. Don't let these fake writers stop you from caring and creating.
  6. The cost of being safe from the outside world got to be too great. The reason for their success was never questioned by the community. The way forward was agreed to and given. People and society still hold on to old ways and 'truths', it takes a brave person or persons to shine a light on them. This is a terrifically powerful story of someone who stood up and said, no more.

    Chapter 1

The cost of being safe from the outside world got to be too great. The reason, as others have said, was never questioned, at least in the open until Mara. People and society hold on to old ways and 'truths', it takes a brave person or persons to shine a light on them. This is a terrifically powerful story of someone who stood up and said no more.

    Serenity

We haven't really discussed this, but I have noticed a change. you seem more at peace and also more focused. Things we've discussed doing and put off in the past, you now just do. That's a good result. Time spent on yourself is always worthwhile.
  9. Both wonderful stories. I remember you writing them, stopping, researching, long discussions with your editor. It did take a long time but they are both amazing stories in their own right. I can understand your frustration. I cannot tell you what to do. If you don't think it's worth the effort and time ... For humans time is finite. Choose what to fill your time with what brings you happiness. ❤️
  10. This good news. I truly enjoyed your first story and tim tells me the next is just as good. No police though, but I'll get over that. Congratulations on your promotion. Well deserved.
  11. It was a completed and iced cake... it was still edible... just. lol
  12. No comment about swallowing. I'm sure you make up for that in other wonderful ways. We rarely eat beef any more for a variety of reasons. Tonight we had some amazing grilled chicken, it's not beef but it was damn good.
  13. I like meat cooked. Medium rare is best but I'd eat it any way. tim still does that, but now there's always a note. LOL
  14. I know, mainly through tim, that life has been a challenge since you returned from Florida. You're a good person, who, I believe has only ever tried to help, no matter what you say to the contrary. If your mother-in-law will end up remaining in the nursing home or hospital, I sincerely hope things remain peaceful.
  15. As am I. he hasn't been himself for sometime, but sounds much better today. I still think he should take it easy but do get out for some walks and things. I hope everyone is well.
  16. Indeed. If she were my sister, there'd be a restraining order in her future. That woman shouldn't be near vulnerable people. She's incompetent. As for what I'd say...did say...I won't repeat it ... polite company and all that.
  17. I hope you are all right. Please accept our condolences on the passing of Phil's father. That must have been a difficult week.
  18. Grantham is not terribly classy.
  19. Indeed. boy has a good imagination.
