I think I have a little bit more to say. tim's post reminded me that no matter the original assigned role we take on in a relationship we do evolve and change. Last year I revised some of the rules we have between us. tim had changed and I had to change with him. Why? Because had I not, he would have become unhappy and dissatisfied. Because I chose this, I was rewarded with a more outgoing and confident partner. One who was no longer afraid of some of the things I wished to have in our life. We need to expect our partners will change. Always. We've been married ten years working toward eleven. When I look back, tim is not the man I married. He is so much more now, unchanged in some ways but he is a deeper, more thoughtful and wiser. I hope, I am also. I spoke to him about writing this and I asked how he thinks of himself now. I laughed at the tim-ness of his answer. What did he say? i am tim with umami. That says it all.

Beautifully said, boy. Silence is a great teacher, if you stop to listen. The Desiderata is a timeless piece and worth reading anytime you've the need for wise and calming words. It's pleasing when our subs learn the lessons we try to share. But these lessons take time to become part of us because they are lessons. We do not have on and off switches, and understanding is not, absent one day and instantly there the next. That is why we teach, why you are asked to sit in silence ... it's not a punishment, it is a lesson and when you eventually 'get it' there is enlightenment and peace. But these too are not static, these things must be practiced and the learning/work never stops. What you've written this morning made me smile.

You have only positive thoughts from me.

That's good news!!! Congratulations.

Hi Thorn ... still have great memories of your story. It really was good!!
-
Brought friends to kidnap the kids. Wow. I am sorry you all had to go through that. I hope that things calm down.
-
Don't beat yourself up. Thank you for reading it and your comments. We all, me included, need to try and stay focused and calm. There is so much pain in the world right now. We do not need to add more anxiety.

Leaving the kids home would likely be smart. It's nothing they need to see. My discomfort with the job, is nothing to what those children suffered and still do. That people can do that, say those things, do them, leaves me with little hope humans can ever really change. We need to try, but I don't hold out a lot of hope.

I am sorry to read this, Starry. I spent a lot of years working to stop child abuse online … nothing much surprises me. But I am glad you all were there for these innocents. I hope the parents are headed to where they belong. I hope things are a little easier tomorrow.

I'm glad to hear you had a good day, molly.

Doing my best.

Morning, Mac. Yes, please don't lose your marbles … Have a good Friday!
-
I'm with you … it smells amazing. Kettle's on … we'll eat and get out before it gets too hot.

Two wonderful pieces. The first, the brotherhood of the human race … we need to see we are one race, no matter our colour or gender. The second … what men, people, who serve feel is hard to describe. There is a sense of duty, not only to yourself, but to all. There is a need to protect and stand for and maybe die for that duty. Most are prepared to do that. But yes, there is a special place for my brothers in arms.

If you liked that.. and you like Wayne Gray .. you should try Trainwreck .. if you haven't. They both wrote that!! And it's funny.
-
Damn! That was great. Very gripping and entertaining. If you're up for it, try something a big longer. I really enjoyed that.

I may moan sometimes, but I am happy. My .. our life is rewarding and fulfilling. I'd never change it. Thanks for reading. I like the poem too... it says so much. Thanks, Thorn.

As Betwixt the Devil and the Deep Sea
MichaelS36 reviewed Thorn Wilde's story in 2020 - Spring - The Storm
Wow. What a well written and creepy tale. I couldn't help but read it. It was that good. Drew me in and held me until the end. A great scary short!! -
Thank you, Starry. tim, molly, Mac, myself, we are born, but yes I think to some extent we choose this. I don't think it's for everyone but we all should have the choice in how we do live. Life should not be a constant battle. Thanks for your support.

tim said no.

AC Benus, Mikiesboy, Parker Owens, WolfM ... some of the best damn poets on GA.

You are always good company. You are a good man Wayne. You care in a world where caring is in short supply. Our world will die because of money, the need for it. We see it now, oh we were all so worried about those people in Walmart and grocery stores ...given a couple of bucks an hour more...while store profit soared. But that has got to stop. They aren't quite as essential as we thought. Billionaires who can't give their staff a decent wage. Ikea and others who refuse to pay taxes in countries where they are. Greed... We cannot sustain this kind of society. It is profit-centric. ..it needs to change to become community -centric. It is the only way we will survive ourselves.
-
Jesus, Wayne. Our system is not perfect, but I've never heard of this ..
-
Thanks, A. Happy to help. Let me know if I can help further. Appreciate your support.

Sorry it was tough. Glad to see you back.
