I'm sorry to hear that was something you went through, JP... Verbal abuse is such an insidious form of control. I don't know if this has been your experience, but you almost began to normalize it! I grew up in a abusive home myself and I didn't realize I was in one until just a year ago. I appreciate you telling your story, cuz there isn't too many others who I share that experience with. Thank you for your feedback RJ! When I read my current and past material, I realize how much easier I find it to write about difficult times. Maybe it's a strength of mine to tap into those moments? I would like to include more pleasant, joyful moments for these characters. Hopefully I find that balance as I write this story!

Haha! I'm really glad that that's the image that came up for you actually! I wanted Jesse's character (well, every character I write ideally) to be as human and realistic as possible. Stefan finished hanging with the guys at Sam’s and came to the front of his apartment building. He wondered what Jesse had been doing while he was off at the other part of the bar.
