  2. Chapter Twenty-Six – The Veil A new moon was rising. After exhausting and pleasurable hours spent with Vee and Theo, it was night again. But Jack couldn’t sleep. It wasn’t the kind of insomnia that’d leave anyone feeling drained and hopeless. No, this insomnia of his was… energetic. Or energizing. He didn’t know which of the two was true. Soon, they would be on the other side of the mountains. And then they’d find the veil, whatever it was. Why did he feel like they didn’t want to get

I really love writing such characters. I like to believe that at least some people can maintain their good parts even through adversity. And that is why Jack - and others - have such a special place in my heart. Thank you for liking him, too

Thank you! And yes, these clues will gather... They will discover many things, and becoming part of Theo's pack, which is natural, after all, is only a part of it.

I think Theo enjoys filling an alpha's role - he won't fight them over the meat. Things are changing, and they do belong to Theo...

I suppose that it remains to be seen But they do become Theo's pack, little by little...
  10. Chapter Twenty-Five – Delicious Hunger The taste of roasted meat was divine, Jack concluded, while eagerly accepting another juicy piece, cut especially for him by no other than the alpha of Whiteflame. They ate in silence, but not because of some ominous future hovering over them; no, it was a pleasant kind of silence to share with friends and companions and— They were getting close. Jack didn’t need his cards to know that was happening. The veil had to be close, but in Jack’s mind, i
  11. Chapter Twenty-Four – True Nature Their laughter and banter waned as they climbed higher. Vince was bringing up the rear, which meant that it was his duty to keep a keen eye on their surroundings for any signs of evil beings following them. Trees were scarcer and scarcer here, and the wind was blowing harder. Theodore walked with determination, showing no sign of tiredness. Jack, despite being the one being carried, seemed to have dozed off, his arms tightly wrapped around his alpha.

I love them all I like writing a character who's much stronger than he's aware of. I'm so happy you enjoy reading their journey to self-discovery.

  21. Chapter Twenty-Three – The Glitter of Hope Theodore felt the change as soon as he stepped outside. However, instead of rushing back in, he decided to inspect their surroundings as he had promised. As expected, whoever or whatever was behind the attack on Jack had conjured the area out of its own mind, because now they were back at the same altitude as before. If he needed any confirmation of that being the case, he only had to check their bags for their contents. They were all there, left i
