  1. Yea, yea, yea, you're so right about Aron! Carter should have known better than walking away. But, if that had happened, I would not have had a story to tell, lol! Aron is Carter's superhero. He's the one who understands Carter, more even than the guy's own parents. And it all happened because of the labor of love Aron put into it. Of course, you are right, and Alex is who he is ... and therefore, that marriage could never work. Ah, well, and 'a fruit is a fruit' ... he, he ... Many hugs!
  2. Oh, oh, there are some very very very good points here! Sometime I think, dear godmom, that you're staring right into my brain! Your analysis of Aron is waaaay too spot on! There will be a little more on Aron's views of the world in a later chapter. You'll know exactly what I mean when we'll reach that bridge. Aron, the poor soul, just searched for years for someone like Carter, to the point that he agreed and became a willing participant in a charade that affected his life. As for his parents ... you couldn't be more on point. Aron's mom and dad would never want him to be unhappy. Ha, ha, Simon! Yeah, that would be a riot! The guy did like Carter a lot when our boy was in Alex's body. And what's not to like about Carter? Except for his quirky personality, he, he. And now on to responding to your other comment!
  3. Ha, ha, Wes, and yet still you managed to make a rather good play on words for Alex! As for your new avatar, is that a cat or a unicorn?
  4. Hey, thanks a lot for the appreciation! Yes, Carter and Aron are heading toward a new chapter in their lives, even in their friendship. As for Carter's explanation ... yeah, that will come, at the right time. Aron will get to enjoy the 'new and improved Carter', as you say, I promise :))
  5. Ah, I feel so touched by your comment to the story ... Thank you so much. Learning how readers perceive what I write is the awesomest reward (and yes, awesomest is not a word, but Carter would use it, so I'll keep up with him on this one). I'm glad to hear that you could relate to the character. He's very dear to my heart, and probably, from all the characters I've ever written, my favorite And I'm also glad that my story is the reason to look forward to Sundays. There will be several more, I promise Hugs, Laura.
  6. Chapter Twenty-Six – The Tin Man Who Didn’t Want A Heart It was a great thing he had Taz now, as he had a reason to go out of the house, and also to go jogging. Getting back to playing sports with buddies was not yet on his list of priorities, as he was still trying to get his life in order, and adjust to the post-Aron era, as he had come to call his life now. Taz was a great jogging partner. Adjustments to the shoebox, as he called his home now, had to be made, and the cabinets now hel
  7. Thank you for commenting! All will happen in due time As for your question about Mark ... I won't say anything
  8. Oh, wow, I so haven't thought of that, lol! Carter is finally a little honest, indeed. But he could do better! Hugs!
  9. Well, Carter will start planning! As for the choice Alex will make ... that will be a small surprise, too! All seen from Carter's POV, of course. I can assure you, the poor guy will have a little (maybe not so little) shock when he'll face Alex's reactions! As for Aron's parents, they will shower Carter with their affection again!
  10. Oh, no, it won't end! There are still several chapters left! Carter has his work cut out for him, so he needs a little more time!
  11. That's what I think, too!
  12. Hey, welcome back, you and your witty comments! Oh, lord, that Queen of Stone Heart comment ... Now I have a picture of Alex in my head, yelling 'off with his head'! Now, onto what kind of animal Alex should be, yes, I do believe the final battle should be between an ass and a piggy! Maybe with a touch of snake in it, just for good measure! As for Mark, what can I say? I just told him. 'Dude, you're here to complicate things.' And he said. 'Roger that.' Well, he had the doggy ready, just to push Carter in the right direction. Carter is ready. But, don't expect things to go as expected! The twists and turns don't end here! Or, at least, I will still manage to surprise you some more! See you next time!
  13. Oh, certainly! The ponytail girl is the key to everything And yes, everyone will meet her at the right moment. I lol'ed so hard at that Alex getting pregnant comment. (funny how my proofreading software tells me I should put 'the' before pregnant ... so it can be a thing to 'get the pregnant', lol!)
  14. Ah, dear godmother, I'm glad you enjoyed meeting Mark so much! And yes, Carter did make the right choice. As for Alex ... yeah, that's an accurate description, I'm afraid. And, yeah, toxic people have a way of contaminating the surroundings, wherever they go. Aron did have some clues, that's right, as for your assumption, yeah, Alex is pretty much one of Aron's biggest mistakes. You know, the kind one may end up struggling with for a very long time. Also ... ugh, there will be more and more surprises along the way. One twist - oh, damn - I think no one will expect ... But hey, this is Wonderland, and the world is pretty much down on its head (or up, or ...) so I'm making the rules, lol! Ha, ha, I liked the heel-clicking routine - Dorothy would also be proud. Crossing fantasy lands like a boss!
  15. Ah, thank you for pointing out the mistake. It's hard sometimes to keep track of the characters' names, lol. Oh, Carter will have more guts from now on. Especially since he's well aware of his feelings for Aron, now. Glad you like Mark! Yeah, he's awesome. And, as a side note, I always update on Sundays. Keeping a schedule keeps me sane. Hugs!
  16. And yet another amazing string of very descriptive qualities! Wes, you're making dictionaries envious, I bet!
  17. Ha, ha, I wasn't expecting that! Alex does leave a long lasting impression, after all, as I predicted. Glad you enjoyed the chappie!
  18. Thank you! There is still plenty of the story to tell So there's a little more until the finish line.
  19. Chapter Twenty-Five – Blue Pill, Red Pill “Are we playing mime?” Carter was the first to speak again, seeing that the other was busy expressing his outrage just by standing there, petrified, with an expression of absolute horrified surprise on his perfect face. Alex scrunched his nose and pulled the chair brusquely, taking a seat without being invited to. Carter felt the need to say something and point out the rudeness, but he could bet that little mishap was going to pale in comparison

    Poor Viktor

Thank you for reading and leaving a comment! In regards to your observations, yes, you are correct. Actually, from the start, the term 'yaoi' should not be used - as far as my knowledge of its use go - but shonen-ai, or BL (boys' love), since there's nothing explicit - to some fans' disappointment, lol. And Viktor and Yuri are far from any uke/seme relationship portrayal. That leaves plenty of room for fans to imagine whatever they like, he, he. And yeah, that was the beauty of it, because there was no actual exaggerated drama, only a normal relationship, and that definitely made people fall in love with the characters. The only bad part is that I don't think we'll see a season 2. Which is pretty sad since it was a pretty damn popular series. I mean, come on, so very few fandoms are bigger, at least on AO3.
  21. Oh, that changes things. Since making a profit enters any work in a different sort of world (dominated by well crafted legalese).
  22. Hmm, that's a tough one indeed ... While reading John Gardner's The Art Of Fiction, I did come across something about writing bad characters. I don't seem to find the quote exactly, and I have no idea how to find it, although I have the book on Kindle, but he said something about not being enough to say that a character is evil, and that, as the writer, you have the (not so noble) task of showing him or her committing a crime. The exact quote was more shocking than what I said here, and I know that it did give me pause. I did the exercise recommended in the book by writing a piece of fanfiction in a fandom where the main character is a criminal. I did struggle with him, as I wrote the story in third person, but from this particular character's POV. By the reaction registered in the fandom, it was a success. Apparently, I 'caught' the character's voice convincingly enough. But I'm not sure if I'm going to do a repeat experience too soon. Writing evil is damn hard.
  23. I am quite surprised to hear that these guys don't allow fanfiction ... Even on FF.net, I know there is a pretty short list of authors who don't like the idea of others playing around with their characters. Most are cool with it. It is, after all, free publicity. I know for sure that I watched or read certain anime/manga series after I got in contact with some quite active fandoms. But I guess that, when you're this big, you don't really care (I suppose). In my experience as a fanfic writer, I haven't encountered this problem, but it is true that my interest is placed on Japanese, Korean, and Chinese web comics, manga, anime ... And in Japan, and not only, fandoms have taken for a lot of time, a life of their own. Doujinshi - which is a pretty vague term, but does incorporate fandom works, be it in writing, drawing, manga format - is sort of a market in Japan, meaning that amateurs who gain traction for their fandom works can even sell copies for a small profit. Of course, the number of copies is limited, and the selling part happens at conventions and other events. But still, that's like light years away from what happens in the Western world. Although, I know that at some point, Amazon wanted to make this a profitable venue, with something that was called Kindle Worlds, if I recall correctly. But making a profit from such derivative works must have been a veritable can of worms because they closed it (and guess that never got really lifted off the ground, as a project).
  24. He, he, yeap, next chapter there will be a confrontation! I hope Carter will keep his ground well enough to be satisfying for readers ... But something else will also happen then ... Not saying what :))
  25. Hey, thanks a lot for always dropping by and commenting! Oh, that conversation will be, I hope, pretty interesting. Again, I feel like it may not be what people expect, but Carter has a way of inhabiting my brain when I write this story, which is why I might come out of the left field, more often than not. Thanks for being a little on Carter's side, or at least understanding of his reaction. It's part of his character, and how he ends up saying the opposite of what he is thinking. Hugs!
