  1. Oh, yes, for sure. Alexander loves working with certainties most of the time.
  2. I keep all the cards... and I love the game. Does it make me a bit of a sadist? I think so What is Brad going to do at the end of the story? Makes you wonder...
  3. And I'm so in love, too, with the words in bold... Since some of you have already taken note of Lyn's pre-existing feelings, I know I'm on the right way. Because Lyn's actions, in the context of who he is, but not only, I believe to be justified. As we head toward the following summer and then senior year, the stakes will intensify... with all the actors getting pulled apart by factors that are exterior to them and their feelings. So well put about Brad being sexually undisciplined! I don't think there's a better way to describe him here. And you're right about the fact that he doesn't take the time to clarify what he feels. I thought - at the time I was writing the chapter - that Lyn's discomfort under Alexander's searching gaze would be slightly humorous. He doesn't like that he's lying to Alexander about Quinn and Joe, and while they're not lovers, he does perceive it as a betrayal of sorts. And that's the deeper layer. Relational, yes. Thank you, Maestro (again, for the words in bold)
  4. Lynsexual... that sounds like Alexander
  5. Ahem, I suppose you do know Lyn rather well... And yes, fear, especially one cultivated assiduously as Lyn had done in the past, can be overwhelming. The whole picture... I think it's safe to say that it will come out from multiple parts - like a puzzle - with the end of the school argument being a good chunk of it. But it will all be explained. I do live in fear of leaving things out when I build an elaborate plot, but I think the ending for this one will be reasonably satisfactory. So well said about Lyn hiding himself from himself. I believe it would be difficult for anyone to be themselves to anyone if their foundation is like Lyn's. His is a very 'origin' problem. I understand why you'd think that about Alexander and Brad. Other readers told me the same thing, and I think that's one of those things when the author gets surprised by how his or her words get reflected in the readers' opinions. Getting away from my writing chair and joining you in the public, if I look at the right angle, I do think there's a vague undercurrent concerning the two rivals. Maybe rivalry is sexy, to some degree In a nutshell, Alexander and Brad are two hot guys going head to head... But I can put your mind at ease without fear of spoilers because luring readers into believing something happened between them wasn't my intention: they were never intimate
  6. Oh, well, seeing how so many 'interesting' words end with -job, take it as you please!
  7. Alexander doesn't only see it... he feels it, because Brad's jabs are aimed at him. I hope that this moment from the boys' past gave you more clues on Lyn's true feelings!

    Realities

Chapter Forty-One – Realities Lyn would’ve loved nothing more than to stay in bed with Alexander for the remainder of this trip, if not longer. Then he wouldn’t have to face the stark reality that came with what he had just discovered about Brad. As long as Alexander kept him busy, he managed to keep the thoughts at bay just fine. But postponing things indefinitely was impossible. First on the order of things, he needed to grab hold of Luke and give him a serious shaking. Obviously, th
  9. Theo is good-looking, and that's his luck...
  10. I read your comment somewhat quickly and read Joey of Arc, lol. Wondering who that could be. Jack is surely enthusiastic. Since he's the kind to take things in stride, he's not easily fazed by novelties!
  11. That's a good scenario! Theo deserves to be cornered!
  12. Jack is thinking of needing the training... Theo is, after all, quite the daunting task.
  13. I think it's safe to say that Vince is 'protected' by his guardian status... and his role in Theo's journey.
  14. Chapter Ten – The Message in the Rock His life had been nothing but suffering for a long time, but there was something deep and humiliating about what he was experiencing right now. His sensitive wolf hearing had caught the conversation between the two companions he hadn’t asked for. They were talking in their usually inane fashion about sex. Sex. It was so easy for them to discard it as a mere biological function, a pastime humans participated in with the only worry being the mild att
  15. Oh, yes, nice comparison!
  16. I did take my time with the mirror scene... making sure it's not too much, but not too little, either. I'm so glad that you guys noticed it and caught its meaning the way I intended (it is my main struggle as a writer). Lyn truly saw himself, and it made him happy in ways he's never experienced before. And I believe you're right about Lyn's motivations about not being keen on seeing Brad. He might be a little selfish, but he enjoys so much what he has now with Alexander, he doesn't need all that drama. This will be even more obvious in the next 'present day' chapter. He's getting stronger! Actually, you'll get to see parts of Lyn you haven't seen until now. He's not made only of his weak points, I like to believe.
  17. Alexander is vulnerable... yes, please, it's worth noting. Lyn sees him as strong and unmoved by anything. But Alexander has his layers. He wouldn't be human without them. And emotional undressing... you make me jealous not having thought of such a juxtaposition of words.
  18. Hold on to that photo, Maestro... It's an essential clue Lyn needs to see himself... Alexander knows it and gently coaxes him into it. Well, he doesn't mind applying a bit of spanking, but I believe he's well entitled to it. There is an even deeper connection to the two moments which you cleverly linked already. You'll know when we get there. Again and again, you're reading Lyn correctly. The last thing he needs now is for Brad to learn about him and Alexander, because he feels that the 'cheating bastard' would taint what he discovers that he has with Alexander. By now, I'm happy that more and more readers are catching on the breadcrumbs I left... Lyn's gut instinct tells the truth, the protective layer of lies comes later through overthinking. And Lyn's fear of exposure... is well, exposed in one single line from Alexander. It is what defines him, regardless of his own wishes. He hides, because it means survival. With Alexander, he can abandon that mentality. Alexander doesn't judge him. And Lyn needs to remember how things stood in the past. Ah, so it wasn't so bad that I left Lyn's adventures with the two sexy guys out Glad to hear it. What Lyn has with Alexander is the real deal.
  19. I'm glad people paid attention to the information, too! Especially with two hot guys in the room...
  20. Oh, lol, so very specific! And I had to google it. Brr, I just pulled my knitted sweater closer around myself just seeing those happy - and crazy - people.
