  1. that is also a good interpretation of the phone conversations. All kids want to make their parents proud, but on their own terms. This is also the case with Rusty, and also he now understands that trying to get Roy to praise him shouldn't be a condition for pursuing his passion.
  2. Oh, gawd, I'm starting to feel terrible... The ending will be great, it will be forever love... does that help? with the pain and suffering I'll cause until getting there?
  3. Such an on point commentary. Rusty came to the conclusion that following his own passion is better than seeking his parent's approval.
  4. Thank you for the praise! Rusty is closing in on the truth, but he's too caught up in his old ways. However, all these will come back to haunt him eventually...
  5. Thank you so much for this nice comment @Okiegrad There will be some difficult times in their future, but they will get out of them stronger than ever!
  6. Well, that's the story, folks! Brought to you by @Hellsheild through a great selection of gifs!
  7. Wow, thank you so much for this TED talk! You've pointed out a lot of excellent details concerning their relationship. All this 'missteps' on their part are due to their personalities, which explain plenty of why they act this or that way. Rusty doesn't have a notion of love the way others in the story do. In GGDDBB, Jonathan's distrust of Maddox came from having been betrayed before, but that is not on the same level with how Rusty grew up, with divorced parents, with seeing other kinds of love happening to other people and not him. I know he's a complex character, and I really, really want to do right by him and portray him so that everyone understands him. So he's acting as he feels, even though he's not thinking it's love what he feels. You're right - he's making Matty his whole world! And those three words... yeah, they may be said too easily. Which reminds me of a verse from Chasing Cars (by Snow Patrol): Those three words are said too much, they are not enough...
  8. I know I'm making people so nervous with all these situations...
  9. Fumbling the ball is one of Rusty's perks... outside the basketball course.
  10. Yeah, I'm 'afraid' that it's going to top BSH's climax, indeed... Things are changing, and crazy things are happening... and I'm going to say no more... You are invited to be Matty's groom-groom! And I'm glad I'm making you learn history, lol!
  11. You're so right about that special place Rusty has for Matty! The words... they'll come... on their own terms...
  12. All I can say at this point is that they will realize their true feelings! And yes, before the story is over... I know I'm asking a lot of you guys to put your faith in me like this, but I'll pull it through!
  13. In all this game of hidden identities, it's a miracle that we're all still all right in the head... or maybe we're not!
  14. Chapter Forty-One – Status Quo When Monday came around, Rusty felt as rested as if he had spent the entire weekend at a spa or something like that. He smiled as he recalled all the fun he’d had with his baby dude, and most spa treatments surely didn’t rival the stuff they had pulled – and pushed – on each other. Yeah, life was pretty great. Adding that his dad no longer truly cared about his pursuing basketball – since that ship had sailed, according to the same guy – everything was pretty
  15. Chapter Six – A List of Things You’re Not Allowed The drink was odd but pleasant, and Otis had to do his damnedest not to gulp it down. It wasn’t nice to gulp down your drink or gobble down your food, his grandma had taught him, and now, he was in the company of interesting people, who knew a thing or two about how to drink alcohol the polite way. After moistening his lips in the pink drink for a moment and then licking them slowly, as he noticed Missy doing, he needed to find the best word
  16. Yes, yes, I am to blame. I'm leaving bits and pieces everywhere, without revealing the whole. Jackie's role in the story, I like to believe, will be quite complex. He's not a prop, for sure, and will play an active role in how everything pans out. So sad and true about Jasper's words. And Hudson... he might find all his human parts while he's close to Otis. There won't be any escape for him.
  17. We will see
  18. Aww, thank you so much for this comment. I like writing carefree stories and situations, but even in those, some parts from other places infiltrate. I really hope I can do this story justice, as it will tackle more serious themes and I'll put my all in treating them right.
  19. Ah, damn, I didn't think of that... but he'll have questions about leashes at least!
  20. Very good observation
  21. You put it very well! Otis is dense but not stupid. He doesn't know a lot of things, but he is willing to learn. I know you like stirring the pot, and I will gladly read all your speculations. So... you want Jasper? We'll see what happens to him.
  22. Otis's backstory will be an element of surprise, I believe, and will explain a lot of things. I'd say I gave you plenty of reasons to worry about well-dressed Jackie. In regards to Hudson taking pictures at the club, that's mostly because that's standard behavior for anyone with something to hide, and this way, Hudson got his confirmation.
  23. Just what I was going for!
  24. Yes, you can say that again, Gary... This world is an universe apart from Sunny Hill. I hope people will like to read it, nonetheless.
  25. This... absolutely this (and I won't add anything) - except the gif below -
