Not this time! No supernatural forces! It's my fault for being twisty, and now, you guys suspect me at every corner, lol! -

Guys, guys, I love you, but you have me in tears of laughter over this! I would have tagged it 'paranormal' - grandma is real! -

I will make a note in future chapters to explain Otis's behavior a bit without giving spoilers (so that I don't hint, by accident, in another direction than intended). His personality and behavior are molded by past experiences and environmental factors, and less genetics. -

As I was telling @Doha earlier, his way of being will be explained gradually throughout the story, and it is more the result of environmental factors, and less genetics. -

That will be Hudson's role, and I feel certain that I can say it without giving spoilers. -

Regarding Otis's behavior and overall personality, there will be more explanations offered throughout the story. Also, I feel the need to add that his way of being is more a result of environmental factors than genetics, which is why I won't put a certain label on him. Thank you for your comment, and you're definitely right about Hudson -

That duckling... yeah, that's Otis! He may be a little simple, not because he lacks the intelligence but experience, and he does pay attention to his surroundings in his own special way. -

Yes, indeed... and I believe I would warn readers in chapter notes about upcoming darkness. This is definitely a theme, and while it is still a romantic story I'm telling, the background will be painted in dark colors. You noticed a few great things about Otis, only that in regards to his memory... that is a thing that will come back throughout, explaining more about him. -

No promises on that front. But Hudson is a rock in this story, he's the guardian and the protector. Otis... oh, he won't give up -

To some degree, yes, they are similar. Like Carter, Otis tries to rationalize every situation, taking people's words 'at face value', without noticing the nuances and 'what isn't said'. -

I see how you get up to the same shenanigans, Xpress... Otis is meant to be quite a complex character, and this time might not be the only one when he'll surprise you. Hudson, I hope, will have his following! Since I picture him as rough and sexy.😊 -
Romania. And now I'm wondering if I listed the correct time... the Internet says - Bucharest - GMT + 3

There won't be a gossip rag... otherwise, true, true, and true on all accounts!
-
Thank you for being here for this story! And for your kind words! Otis is quite complex and his behavior is mainly the result of environment issues while growing up, something that will be explained gradually throughout the story.

Chapter Thirty-Six – Will You Tell Me If I Go Too Far? It was definitely a hurdle to focus on the topics he was supposed to be teaching Rusty while there was something like that burning his retina from the corner of one eye. Was that a sign that Rusty knew about his secret identity? If that were the case, why wasn’t he mentioning it out loud? The chances were Rusty was looking forward to teasing him over it, with the intention of making him give himself away. But if he did that, was that th

Chapter Two – Research Is the Mother of Learning That was the fifth in two days, Otis dutifully wrote in his notepad. Of course, there could be more since he wasn’t there all the time to spy on his neighbor. Also, standing in the hallway and always pretending to be busy with inspecting the light fixtures for signs that they needed changing – although that wasn’t something that fell within his responsibilities – was highly impractical. There was, as well, the matter of doing all this researc

Thank you! It will be different in many ways from other stories I've written, but I hope people will like it. The evolution between the two characters might also stray (some) from my usual MO.

Thank you for checking out my story! Yes, this one will be quite different from the Sunny Hill saga, in tone as well as characters. But, just as all of mine, it will have a happy end
