  1. Yes, thank you! That was one exchange I hoped readers to notice! Matty asks the best question ever. He reads Rusty well, even better than he might think at the moment.
  2. Yes, indeed, you noticed. There was also sadness, despite the celebrations and all that. Rusty offered an exemplary performance, not only for his brother's sake, but also, to gain his father's approval, even if he wouldn't be caught dead admitting to such a thing.
  3. He-he, now that's a bit funny, to see Superman delivering a kick to the head to Rusty's dad.
  4. Maybe not investigating... but Matty is interested in everything that concerns Rusty, and he also saw the care Roy manifests toward his oldest kid, even though if he does it in such an obnoxious manner. And he offered his opinion to Rusty, honestly.
  5. Potty humor is best, lol!
  6. You're wishing the best for him, that's very nice of you!
  7. Yes, he's definitely different compared to his bestie. Maddox grew up as the youngest, spoiled by parents and older siblings. Therefore, his view of love, once he fell for Jonathan was more of a straight line than it would ever be for Rusty. I know I'm announcing pains with this, but it's just the way it is.
  8. Lol, I liked the progression from the initial confusion to the conclusions to the chapter.
  9. Xpress vs. S.H.I.T... that will be some serious showdown!
  10. That's a lot better put than I would have said it. Thank you!
  11. Roy was pleased with Matty, actually, as he appreciates those who apply themselves. He most likely sees Rusty as someone with potential, and he's frustrated at how easy his son takes everything. In other words, he believes that his harsh treatment should make Rusty become more serious about his future. You're right about Connor's cult. He presents ideas, and those ideas lead to actions. At this point, he might not realize what that means, although he has the experience of the previous year.
  12. I somehow doubt Rusty needs that kind of attention...
  13. Well, I certainly like to think that the fact that Roy worried about Rusty being a young father proves something. And even if he might not present Rusty with some sort of aura to his family, he doesn't trash-talk him, either, for sure.
  14. Yeah, you're right! Xpress is all for spicy! While it's irreverent, sassy, and sometimes downright silly, with touches of obnoxious, it's the lack of a real agenda that sets it apart from Connor's Implacables. Those guys are a different story. You can continue to keep that impression of Roy Parker. He won't be a sweet person ever, and he'll keep his opinions, and he won't be the type one could sympathize with, but one dimensional he won't be, either. And Matty was pretty much himself! The superhero Rusty doesn't know he needs in his life? Be whoever you want to be, lol!
  15. Yes, you've seen it. That's Roy's way to watch over Rusty, even if from a distance. Even if he's not father of the years, he's not indifferent. Some people might say that's worse, but I'm not one to pass quick judgment, as I've seen indifference in my life. Connor, for now, seems on top of the game, and basks in the upward ascent of his organization. How that's going to play out, we'll see.
  16. There's more than just Xpress now, and while the gossip rag might not have a bigger agenda besides 'let's spill everyone's secrets', Connor's team has other motivations.
  17. In this case, Connor's team just went with the gossip launched by Xpress who sees cat girls instead of cat boys, and unplanned pregnancies all over the place. Yeah, the facade is bound to slip some more, as what happens between Rusty and Matty is a lot more than a tutor-untutorable relationship.
  18. There's actual some kind of caring in that attack... don't get me wrong, not for one moment I think it's right for Rusty's dad to act like that, but it's his way of watching over his older kid. And I've seen it so many times in parents - not only dads - to be hard on their first born, only to be a lot more lenient with the younger ones, without batting an eye. A psychologist might have a good explanation for this type of behavior. Today, you'll know what Rusty will do, first and foremost
  19. Chapter Twenty-Six – It’s Because Of You It appeared that it wasn’t the diner Rusty was interested in, but rather the dark forest rising behind it, which provided plenty of cover at that hour. Matty didn’t protest in the slightest as he was pushed with his back against a tree, and a hot mouth was on him, demanding and seductive at the same time. Rusty Parker could be many things, indeed. But what he was, without the shadow of a doubt, didn’t have anything to do with possibilities. Kin
  20. Totally true!
  21. Yes, he needs to grow. And yes, outside forces are often needed for that to happen.
  22. Yes, you are correct. He told Maddox more, but not all. Some things you keep close to the heart, so to speak.
  23. It wasn't only once, despite what Rusty told Matty.
  24. In a way, if I think about it... he does have a plan C... but not for cat boy lol!
