Thanks Chris. see my reply below to Anton's comment. The issue of children is indicative of their strong bond, even more so after what they had to go through. Neither of them are frivolous people. They would have spoken about it in depth before making the decision. Much more to come.

Thank you Tony. As I said in the chapter notes, I wanted to convey the awfulness of the assault without sensationalising it. And at the same time reinforce and emphasize the depth of the bond between Andrew and Ryan. I hope that came across.

Andrew and Ryan spent the next four hours examining every nook and cranny on the boat. Exactly five hours later, they touched down at Cape Town International. Customs and immigration were cleared with minimum fuss and a driver from the lodge was waiting for them when they stepped into the arrivals concourse, Paul and Marie having collected Andrew's SUV on their arrival from the island. The entire lobby had been cleared of furniture and the walls draped in black cloth, behind which flickered hundreds of fairy lights The same had been done for the ceiling, except the fabric was white and was draped from the walls to the chandeliers leaving the centre of the room with the landing open. Thanks Chris. Just one request from all you guys. 90% of my career was in the hospitality industry, where attention to detail was very important. Which is why I'm so annoyed at having posted without the edit being complete. On the last day of October, on schedule, the refurbishment of Blue Bay Lodge was complete and it was time to reveal the new look to the world. For the whole of October, the lodge had been closed to the public with only workmen and a few staff permitted on the property, and the rumour mill among the local community was at a fever pitch.
