  1. The route to the hotel took them through the usual collection of warehouses and industries normally found in the vicinity of airports before joining the autostrada and heading towards the city. With the city looming ahead of them, the driver took an off ramp onto a wide, tree-lined boulevard with a traffic island in the centre and after driving on the boulevard for a few minutes, stopped in front of the imposing and elegant, yet playful, facade of the Grand Hotel Savoia, the establishment being

    Chapter 18

Hi Tony. Thank you for your kind wishes and comments. Been quite hectic here over the holidays so only reading all the comments now. Firstly, seasons greetings to you and yours too. I hope it was a good one. By now you woukd probably have heard that SA is back to what we term Level 3 lock down. Strict curfew from 9pm to 4am, wearing of mask are now mandatory. I hear the authorities are handing out fines for curfew breaking and for not wearing a mask. We had a case of the dreaded lurgy in the household in October. My sister became infected at work. We went into isolation for two weeks and amazingly no one else was infected. She had it very mildly, only one day when she really felt awful, but now fully recovered. The bid thing is we sanitised the crap out of the house and even now have bottles of sanitiser in every room. So we remain vigilant. Thank you for your concern and hope you stay safe too. Thanks again for reading my story and for all your encouragement. Not only you but everyone who has reacted and comments to each chapter. I still cannot believe that something I have written could get the reactions it has.
  3. At the risk of sounding condescending, your stories never bore me. Have enjoyed every one that I have read.
  4. Always great to get something new from you, Carlos. Looking forward to more! Happy new year to all!

    Chapter 3

Thank you for taking the time to read it. Pleased that you are enjoying it. Have you seen the pictures I posted in the gallery?
  6. Darren and Kerry were already busy on board 'Belle Catherine' when Andrew and Ryan arrived at the dockside the following morning. The babies had slept through to 7am and then they cuddled in bed with them for an hour before starting to get ready for the day, which would be a long one as the plan was to give 'Belle Catherine' a thorough clean, inside and out, prior to the first charter of the year. They had the twins with them, so the first point of business was to get them settled in the master
  7. The young family, including Rascal arrived at the dockside at 10h00 on New Years eve. It was quite hot, with almost no wind blowing, although it was expected to pick up later in the day and become fresh. Ryan went on board and opened up the doors, then he and Andrew moved the twins and Rascal down to the master cabin. The babies were almost asleep after the drive, so they put them on the bed surrounded by cushions and pillows. They opened all the hatches and portholes and turned on the fans

    Chapter 17

Not sure where you are getting this news from, from don't always believe what you read in the press.

    Chapter 17

Once again my apologies. Published while midway through the editing.
  10. Christmas Eve started off being very busy. François called to say he would not be at dinner, he was joining Claude at the lodge instead. The cleaning service arrived at 8am and descended on the house like a swarm of bees. Andrew and Ryan had their work cut out to prevent them from disturbing Donna and Craig, until they emerged from the guest room at 10am. David and Janice arrived soon after, to see if they could be of assistance, but all thoughts of dinner were banished, when Donna and Craig ann

    Chapter 16

Thanks Chris. You have no idea how thrilled I am that my story is actually being read, and getting reactions.

    Chapter 16

Coastguard, thank you for the comment. As I said in a previous post, the chapters are fully edited before uploading onto the site. It is at this stage that I find the errors are creeping in, and I'm not sure what the reason for that is. Sentences are cut off and moved to the next line, the ends of words are chopped off and also moved to the next line etc. The upshot is that the chapter then has to be re-edited and not all the errors are always picked up. But we are dealing with it as each chapter is uploaded.

    Chapter 16

Hi guys. To those of you who read the original version of this chapter, my apologies. Not quite sure what I am doing wrong, if anything, but for some reason, once I have uploaded onto the site, and saved, checking the 'Don't publish' button, and I started editing, for some reason the chapter is getting published and the first time I realise it, is when reactions begin appearing on my screen. Here is the fully edited version, hopefully without too many errors is I just skimmed over it to get it republished as soon as possible. Enjoy!
  14. They slept a bit later than normal, waking at 7am instead of 6am. Surprisingly, the twins were still in baby dreamland, so they packed pillows around them, showered and dressed for the day and went upstairs. Ryan wanted to get going, but did not want to disturb Dan and Joan by starting the engines, so he retrieved the anchor, raised the mainsail and used the wind to push them further out into the bay. Then using the bow thruster, he pivoted 'Belle Catherine' to face the mouth of the bay and sa

    Chapter 2

First two chapters have got me hooked. Sitting here in hot, summery South Africa, but still makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Cannot wait for more.
  16. It's about time! Only taken them 12 chapters to get there. Not that I'm complaining. Loving the story.
  17. Cameron and Elizabeth came home from the hospital the day after they were born. And the routine in the house changed dramatically. Andrew and Ryan soon came to realise just how much responsibility came with having children, especially babies, to care for. As agreed, the boys took over most of the care of the babies. They put no pressure on Beth and allowed her to do things at her own pace. But eventually, some sort of normal routine was re - established. One of them, along with Janice were a

    Chapter 14

Not sure whether this is good or bad news but here goes. At the moment I have 31 chapters complete. I am considering splitting it into two books.

    Chapter 14

Hi Coastguard, thank you for the feedback. Not an excuse - just an explanation. The chapters are edited numerous times before being uploaded onto the site. I found that once uploaded, the layout isn't what it was on my original copy, so it has to be edited again. Letters have been chopped off the words at the end of a line, spacing changed etc. I think it is in this edit that the errors are creeping in. I read your comment in the user feedback and paid particular attention to this chapter when the uploaded copy was edited. Seem I still missed a few. My apologies.

    Chapter 14

Not surne why this chapter is visible. Still editing and showing as unpublished. Please bear with me. OK, published now!
  21. And here they were, approaching the end of the years first charter. Andrew roused himself from his memories of the past, and realised just how lucky he was, notwithstanding the loss of his parents, and Ryan's close call. Hell, no, they were successful businessmen, who owned a lodge that had not only grown in size, but had grown as a business as well, with a reputation to be proud of, and operated a very successful luxury yacht charter operation, that was also slowly making a name for itself. H
  22. Christmas morning dawned bright and sunny, with a slight, cooling breeze. Andrew lay in Ryan's arms, his back against Ryan's chest . He was very aware of his husbands morning glory, nestling in his butt crack and wiggled his butt with an impish grin on his face. "If you keep doing that, there are going to be consequences", rumbled a sleepy voice in his ear. Andrew giggled and turned over to face Ryan, stroking his face and running a finger down through the golden blonde fur on his chest.

    Chapter 12

Thank you. Quite honestly. I'm blushing. I just wish my teachers at school thought my writing skills were good. Perhaps I would have received better grades. In hindsight, perhaps that skill??? comes with age!
