A Story and a Sleeve
We all have those "meh" days. My mom used to call it the blahs. I've had a few of those recently too. I think it's this fickle weather. I'm not used to so many cloudy days . All we can do is what we can, when we can, and as best we can. You can always hit me up for a chat if you're in the mood to be entertained lol. Hugs, my friend. We all have those "meh" days. Jesus... garlic!
I love you for this.
SpoilerYes, there is such a thing as too much garlic. It's a fine line between just right and "holy shit, it's going to ooze out my pores"

@kboisthat was a great chapter I would say the best out of all chapters in the three-book series if it was rated 1 out of 10, I would say this chapter was a solid 10+ out of 10.
Aw, thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it!

Chapter 6
When you sent me this chapter to edit, I didn't know what to expect. I was hoping for a happily ever after and I did get it, but it wasn't wrapped up in a nice little bow. Instead, I cried because of how real everything felt. The conversation in the barn was gut wrenching in a good way. The ending was perfect. Lonnie has found a sense of peace, and Leo ... I love that you left it a bit vague because Leo will always be a part of Lonnie and even though his ghost may have faded, the memories Lonnie has never will.
This has become my favorite story of yours. xoxo

Chapter 5
My older son is already married so it's not an issue. My younger son? It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he pulled something like this. I think Lonnie has some ADHD going on. His brain seems to run in all different directions sometimes, and he's prone to impulsive decisions. Granted, once he gets an idea he does mull it over for a bit, but the idea itself, like selling the house and business, comes out of left field. So far though, it seems like he's doing the right things for himself in o6 hours ago, Cane23 said:That was exactly my thought… Maybe it’s because I’m a parent myself, but I was just reading about the shocked dad’s reaction and thinking - that’s how I would react if one of my children came up with such a rushed, poorly thought-out idea. Especially when someone is still vulnerable and hurting, like Loonie. Let’s hope for the best…

Chapter 5
Michael is right, there is a lot going on in this chapter. What stuck out to me was when right after Lonnie handed over the keys to the house and got in the car and was smacked with Leo saying "I forgive you". I think Lonnie was really forgiving himself. He's finally given himself permission to move on, albeit in his own way. He recognizes the need to move forward. Great job yet again. I love this story. xoMichael is right, there is a lot going on in this chapter.

Chapter 4
Ok. No yelling. I promise. I'll get to the "I want you to marry me" part in a minute. First... Absolutely a first rate job showing the multitude of emotions that Lonnie is dealing with....and it's a lot. Indecisiveness about the business and house, then resolved determineness (I have no idea if that's a real word) to do so. Anger at Leo for questioning him and for just plain being dead, hopefulness that he likes Ty and that the man might like him back, excitement for a simple dinnerOk. No yelling. I promise.

Very sneaky Tim, veeeerrrryyyy sneaky.

I think writers, well all creative people, are often hijacked by their unconscious mind. Our outline may say one thing, but the old gray matter makes another choice.
OMG... the number of times my brain has been hijacked is unreal. Its probably best that I don't think too far ahead as I write. It'd be damn chaos.

9 minutes ago, Philippe said:Yes, unpredictable highs and low. I just wish he had more compassion for how his call was going to sound to Keve. Just adding that he felt he needed space and was going to his cabin to clear his mind would also let the poor guy coming off his bad relationship know that he wasn’t the cause off the escape plan. 😢
In Lonnie's defense, he did apologize and admitted he wasn't ready. Poor guy sorta panicked. Hopefully Keve will understand.

Chapter 25
Mea culpa. The "Google" is not always correct. My son is the music expert in our family. As for me, I'm usually just winging it lol. Thanks for the info and I hope you're enjoying the story!31 minutes ago, Jean87 said:@kbois fyi John Scofield only had an instrumental called "That's What I Say" on a 2005 tribute album to Ray Charles who was the one who sang Hit The Road Jack in 1961. which became one of his signature songs that he is well known for.

I think Stacy is a good friend with solid advice. Everyone needs a Stacy in their life.
Lonnie will get his $#!+ together eventually. I think. Probably.
Eh, no spoilers allowed.
Great job tim. You've nailed how unpredictable grieving can be.

Chapter 2
This quote from Lonnie's mom is what struck me the most in this chapter: "You don't have to carry him alone anymore." I think a lot of people who are grieving tend to hide what they're feeling because they don't want to upset others. The grief process is something different for everyone and Lonnie's mom just quietly let her son know that he had support. There are stories that hit hard in the emotion department. This is one of them.
Grief is many things to many people and you've managed to portray a lot of emotion in this first chapter. Great job tim.

Chapter 15
I know nothing about explosives or implosions. I was flying by the seat of my pants. Thank goodness for Google lol. Thanks for reading!12 hours ago, Mac McNeill said:While everyone is talking about the end of the Dom and sub, I was interested in the implosion of the apartments. I got to witness in January of 2000 the implosion of the Mapes Hotel in Reno. I watched it from the steps of the County Courthouse with non other than Judge Mills Lane. I was a Deputy Commissioner of Civil Marriages and my office was next door. Since I didn't have a ceremony, I went out and watched. It was a "straight down" implosion fortunately because the Truckee River ran right beside it. This chapter brought back memories.

Chapter 26
Its 379. Totally the fault of the Krew. Theyre completely insane. @weinerdog is the ringleader. He chews through muzzles, he's somehow destroyed three anti-bark collars and knows that if he runs fast enough he can barrel through the electric fence with barely a shock. He's a menace.10 hours ago, Jason Rimbaud said:Firstly, I was wrong. I think kbois highest is like 272, still crazy high, the entire story comment count I already forgot but its really high

Chapter 22 Bonus Snippet and Author's Note
Chapter 22 Bonus Snippet and Author's Note
I'm working on it. I hit a massive writing slump in which I started 2 stories. Both stalled, one after 4 chapters and the other after 10. Hopefully, they'll speak to me at some point. Currently, I've got another story in the works and it seems to be moving along pretty well. The story idea is there in its entirety, I just have to put it together in my head. I miss having a story to post.41 minutes ago, akascrubber said:Please keep on writing. I miss reading what you say on this venue.

For some reason, this resonated with me:
I try on futures like coats
too bright, too thin, too warm
and leave them hanging
Thanks for sharing tim xo
