That's because you think you're the only one special enough for Caleb. You're "special' alright.

    Chapter 23

Reversing/curing the hybrids is not going to be easy. As of now, they think it may not be possible.

    Chapter 23

The last couple days have been busy. We worked until it started getting dark Friday, then I fed my guys before we went home. Didn't get there until after eight-thirty. It was a13 hour day for me. I'll be a little lax on the housework this weekend...lol.

    Chapter 23

Zev busted his ass to decipher what was on there. Once he figured it out, he went on a roll. Teams will be rolling out soon. I'm glad everyone was okay. It was some scary shit for a few moments seeing everything whipping around.

    Chapter 23

Leave poor Tyler alone. The dude was coming (pun intended) off a long dry spell.

    Chapter 23

Tyler rubbed his eyes. The goop and grit felt like it had been there for a week, now a permanent fixture in the corners. One thing was for sure, Zev was a savage savant when it came to deciphering, decoding and generally making heads out of tails. He’d never seen anything like it. The laser-precision focus was awe-inspiring. The stacks of printouts, which seemed like gibberish to everyone else, slowly melted into something that made sense to Zev. Once Zev printed his scribbled, hand-writte
  12. Like I said to you before... Overachiever.
  13. Well, my long weekend got cut short. Yesterday a "downspout" hit the community I work at. To me it looked like a tornado. There was a lot of debris flying around, and it sure as hell looked like a funnel cloud. Luckily no one was hurt. However there are over 20 homes with some sort of damage, ranging from minor to one home nearly destroyed. I was at work until dark last night helping to clean up debris and went in this morning to do a better assessment. My heart goes out to my residents. Many of them don't have insurance. It's something I hope I never see again.

Gnomie thinks she's all that. I'm okay with bursting her bubble.

Aww, thanks! But writing on that level would be a time commitment I can't swing right now. Plus I'd want to take some writing courses. I have a really bad comma problem. At least I've almost cured my excessive use of the word "that".

    The End

Thank you for this tim. I've seen death claim a few people in my lifetime. I'm extremely grateful my mom slipped away peacefully. I wish she hadn't lingered for as long as she did. The last week was tough to watch. I don't believe in an afterlife either. I do think, however, that we each hold an energy within us that when we die, goes on to become part of something else. Not a soul, not a reincarnation, not a ghost. Just pure energy. If it's not the case, so be it. You and anyone one else who has shared their works will live on for however long this site exists. Words are powerful and yours have made an impact. We all need to do what we can to live our lives the best way we are able to. Take the good with the bad and in the end, know that we are loved. xo

Just like @Mrsgnomie, I too, wish I had an editor for my early works. I cringe when I look back. The stories themselves are good, but the writing? Meh. @Mrsgnomie and I have developed not only an excellent working relationship, but we've become good friends (or frenemies depending on the day. Lol) I've taken on @astone2292 as well. He has a completely different perspective and has been a great asset. My loveable, geeky beta @Danilo Syrtishas been with me since my second story. For someone whose first language is not English, he has a keen eye for mistakes. A good team is essential for posting on a site like this. Most of us post for the enjoyment. Having a story that isn't riddled with mistakes pulls the readers in and helps build a loyal following. I'll never be an author on a professional level. I really don't aspire to be either. I enjoy being able to get lost in another world for a while. My biggest goal is to bring some of that enjoyment to my readers. (And make them cry when I kill off a beloved character. Sorry, not sorry.)

    Chapter 22

I hate to break it to you, but I don't know if I can post tomorrow. We had a tornado go through the park I manage. It's now 8pm and I'm still at work and need to come in in the morning. No injuries but there are a lot of homes with damage. I saw the funnel and debris flying around. I nearly shit a brick.
  23. I still get first dibs right? She's not as good at prime ribbing.
  24. @astone2292 loves me more.
