    Chapter 1

The story deals with a subject that resonates with a lot of people. Mental illness affects not only those who have it, but their families, friends and co-workers too. Thanks for commenting!

    Chapter 1

Thanks weinerdog. My son struggles with a lot of issues. He's finally reaching out for help. As a parent it breaks my heart to see what's happening. It not only affects him, but my husband and I have to deal with it every day. I'll never understand how a mom or dad can abandon their child, physically or emotionally. Shay went through a lot. I'm glad I was able to cover as much as I did. It's a shame when insurance companies dictate services. It's one of my pet peeves. ❤

    Chapter 1

Thanks so much. Your feedback means a lot. As a writer my goal is to make my readers feel a wide range of emotions. I'm glad I succeeded. I think a lot of Shay's mothers hatred stemmed from her mental illness. It's a reality that is all too common. Therapy, especially when you find the right therapist can help tremendously. Still, those who struggle with any type of mental illness often have an uphill battle every day. I hope that anyone who is dealing with such issues can reach out and get the help they need. Thanks again! 💜

    Chapter 1

I'm positive Shay reached out to his best friends. I'm also sure they welcomed him back into their lives with open arms. Thanks for commenting!
  6. Some days are easy. Some aren’t. Today was one of the latter. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not the easiest person in the world to figure out. It took me forever to discover I didn’t fit into a world that expected me to act a certain way. Even as a little kid, I never felt truly comfortable in my skin. My parents didn’t know what to do with me. By the time I hit puberty, I was a mess. Their solution? Therapy. Lots of it. In the beginning, I was a real pain in the ass, and I gave ev
  7. Shay is a normal kid, just trying to figure things out. Year after year, his mom makes it hard.

'Bout time. If you were on time you would already know... Boston is the new laptop. Geesh. Are you sure you need to work? It's cutting into your commenting availability.

    Chapter 27

Find is often a matter of opinion. We've all been in a situation where someone asks the question "Are you ok?" And we answer "Fine", even though it's far from the truth. Elijah will power through this. He has to. I find it so hypocritical that a so-called "loving" God advocates vengeance.

Agreed. I've had to edit a time or ten on my phone. It sucks.

    Chapter 27

Today at work was hell. One little thing after another. There better be some sort of special liquor or whiskey waiting for me. Lol!

    Chapter 27

It's going on airplane mode for the duration. I can survive for a week without internet. I'll text/message my kids when we're in port.

    Chapter 27

We've already booked and paid for our shore excursions. My hubs isn't one for upgraded dining. I worked in the travel industry for 20+ years. The steak at the specialty restaurant comes from the same fridge as the main restaurant. I've enjoyed 5* dining but always on my company's dime lol. At this point the only extra expenses we'll have will be a few souvenirs (shot glasses are a must) and what we spend in our departure city the two days before the ship sails. I like trying small, local places to eat. They tend to be really good and really reasonable.

Like the people coming into my office. Don't they know I'm on vacation tomorrow (my mind has already departed) I can do that in port, but not so much out at sea.

There are so many variables. I'm glad it's in Sebastian’s hands to sort out.

    Chapter 27

It's not sock drawers that are the issue. It's dryers. They fling the socks into another dimension. Dr. Who got it all wrong. The Tardis wasn't a phone booth. It was a dryer. You know I'm not commenting on Kenneman or the Boston dream. Yes, I know I can buy an internet package on the ship. I'm not about to pay $20 per day for one device when you have to pay for the whole week. That's more than I pay for a month. I did the math and the drink package would be almost $900 for both of us. (You can't do just 1 person). I could never drink that much in a week without ending up in the infirmary. We might drink $40-$50 worth a day. If even that.

I beg to differ. After all, people Google Florida Man, and not Alaska Man.
