    Chapter #22

To Max - aka Watson, I see you've changed your alias; a pseudonym is getting old. Unfortunately, I'm not ready to share certain aspects of my life, but I suppose my name is relatively common. So, I reckon I can give you my name. I hope this doesn't give away too much information and make you think less of me for being the way I am, and since I have conducted some research, I have concluded that there are approximately 27 people in our school with the name Isaac, eight within our two grades.
  6. Congrats Here's to the hope of many more years of compelling stories.

    Chapter 20

I'll agree I didn't plan on making them friends either, they just spoke and spoke and soon, a friendship blossomed. I think I kind of ran into this project a little blindsided like I seem to do with some of my stories. Though once I figured out that they were two different peer groups, I wanted to showcase the two complete polar opposites that each of the boys really wanted from life, and the other counterpart had that. In a way, I think it was some of these absences and desires that grew on the boys after a while and helped with developing the friendship they have established. I guessed around chapter 4-8, that the boys were only going to be friends, and that this was not going to be a normal love story, instead, a friendship one. At times, I had a little difficulty writing primarily from a narrow viewpoint, because all my friendships have been primarily made in the real world so it was a new experience even for me. I hope now with the ending in sight, that it carries on the boy's friendship, but ends the letters, and that folks can imagine a future where the boys will go far after the story has it's cut off point.

    Chapter 21

I guess that's the way I wrote his character arc, being overwhelmed. Though since he is warming up to the idea, I predict good things in the future

    Chapter 21

It's good to have you back. I'll also confess that you are not the only one. I was lost with my own work at times about who was talking. Though as I begin to do a full edit from top to bottom, hopefully, it will fix these issues and make it easier for future readers or reads. I hope you enjoy the remainder of the story, and that the last chapter does not present a bit of a challenge as I shift format slightly from letters to text messages.

    Chapter 21

You have pretty much messaged on all my stories at some point or another, and it always makes my day when I see a comment from you. It reminds me in a way, that people are reading and still enjoying my work, even if they comment or not. I know the format is similar to my diary entries from As They Say, but I was interested in two characters communicating all at once. I had no idea I was going to start a pen-paling series, but I apparently did lol. I glad that you have grown an attachment to the characters I have written. I try really hard to get to the reader to emphasize with the characters even if they are good or bad in some form. Plus, the world it takes place in; I try to give it lots of rich details so it makes it appear that the world they live in is lived in. What gets me every time is when a reader feels sad, happy or angered by my writing. In a way it means, I got under your skin or into your heart. As the story draws to a close, I can't wait to complete the boy's adventure and begin another

    Chapter 21

Thanks for your comment, I believe so too that Max will be a good friend. When I started writing, I didn't want to have a whole lot of drama, compared to my other stories, so I just wanted it to be an easy read and sweet. Glad that has come through in the writing I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.

    Chapter 21

To Sherlock, Hey, I know I picked a shitty time to come out I guess. I can't remember what I wrote in the last letter, all I can recall is that I kept saying that I'm not. Man, it felt like the longest weekend in my entire life waiting for a reply from you. I figure I do have a knack for choosing the right time. Thank you. Thank you for not bailing on me or thinking I'm sick. You know the first thing when I came into school this morning, I was greeted to a fight between a couple in the corri

    Chapter 20

Oh, I have no doubt regarding the paper. I prefer to not use it as it is a waste of natural resources if I must edit a story 10 times. I do use print outs, except, it will be the last edit of all. Though thanks.

    Chapter 20

I am glad that you enjoyed the chapter, and the story as far. One thing I have noticed is just this; what you have mentioned here. I reckon people just don't want the added responsibility, and I suppose it is a natural human recollection when you are confronted with it at first. Though as many may know, we carry on for the love of the person who may have the problem. They didn't ask for it, just as we didn't. Sadly, some people are more cynical than others and they are too invested in their own self-interests. I think the reason I wrote it into the story was that I thought it was a natural reaction. I reckon if I was put in Max's shoes, I would probably be a little disappointed, for what I do not know. Except, realizing the person needs me, we'd just get on with it. Life is funny sometimes, you can be disappointed, but you push your own self-interests aside. When I first began writing it, I didn't think Isaac was going to be in a wheelchair, I guess I just ended up here. Plus, I am sorry to hear about your grandmother, nobody knows what life can throw at a family or individual. Life is complicated enough, I think that the best thing we can do for humanity is to just keep an open mind. Likewise, with your son, I am delighted that you shared some personal story with me. Only, I am sorry to hear also. For me, I don't have knowledge of family or friends in these circumstances. I presume the only piece I have experienced that rings true to what I have written above, is pushing someone in a wheelchair while playing soccer... aka football. I was about 15, and our school contacted another school that worked alongside teenagers with special needs. All I can remember from the experience was that the kid was a lot lighter than I imagined it was possible to push and run. Though making someone happy is the key, seeing those who do not have the ability: express joy made the experience worthwhile for everyone involved. Therefore, I remained true to the idea that people just need some headspace to open up to a situation, and it may not be in a hypothetical way... it's just they become overwhelmed. Max I believe has a good heart, and he tries really hard to impress people. I'm sure he'll redeem himself, and the true friendship Max and Isaac built will beat his shock and self-interest.

    Chapter 20

Perhaps he’s just scared, I guess we’ll find out soon enough what sort of person he is. Though Im glad that it provoked a reaction that you questioned Max’s reaction.

    Chapter 20

I don’t like to waste paper, I care very much about the environment, so I don’t use excessive amounts of it can be avoided. The purpose of recycling is not to increase the amount to recycle, but to decrease dependence from over using. If I must use print outs, it is the last edit I will do before a publication for paid. However, since what I write is my first draft here on Gayauthors, I tend to skip that step.at the rate I write, I’d use way to much paper, and that would torture my soul knowing I didn’t need to use paper, unless it was purposeful. Though all to their own, don’t get me started about post-it notes. I make up for paper in post-it’s. I have a head like a sieve.

    Chapter 20

Ah yes, it was supposed to be wasn’t, sometimes after 3 edits, my eyes begin to miss mistakes. There is only so many times one can look at their own writing before it turns to crap if you catch my drift lol. Thanks though, I’ll correct this now so I know it’s one less mistake during publishing.

    Chapter 20

To Watson, Relax okay, I'm not going to tell anybody. I mean, I can't believe I'm right. Usually, I am the type of person to excel academically, but miss the par when it comes to humans. I promise my lips are sealed and nobody will know what we have talked about. I don't identify with how it feels to be gay, or what I should say to try and make things better. Except, I am inclined to say there is nothing wrong with you. You are just sailing in an entirely different vessel compared to my iden

    Chapter 19

I hope so too, I wish that Max does the right thing... well, in my mind anyway. Some people do find people with a disability a hindrance. Therefore, the idea is presented and I guess it is a waiting game to see what Max does with the situation. Indeed, in the olden days, people with an inability where shunned most of the time, or looked down upon, to say the least. One idea when I wrote was, I wanted the boys to have great chemistry, but have the concept of being biased on the horizon. Today, it probably doesn't present larger isolation for people in wheelchairs. Except, I can only assume it still remains, and some kids can still feel in the lightest sense of the words... odd... for having a friend with this ability. So, I wanted to have some real problems showing, and some real people who are indecisive, and capable of making mistakes.
