His only saving grace (s) are that a) he is a great dad, b) he has some awareness of his ass-holishness and does castigate himself mentally. Now if he could turn his thoughts into actions, or just filter before voicing his thoughts instead of reacting after speaking, we would be in his corner. But this is a part of character development; you see a person like Diego metamorphose from a callous, ignorant, unaware, so-deep-in-the-closet-he-passed-Narni-in-1944-and-kept-going prick, to a lovable, loving accepting individual. We await that day with Great Hope @AusGlitterati Have a great day too.

I don't like Diego very much at this point. He is so mean-spirited to everyone, even the ones that don't deserve it. He has the best friends in the world because if I was in thier position, I would have kicked his butt to the curb a long time ago. Boy better change.

    The Peddler

Peddlers never tell the whole truth, do they?

Diego's closet is built of granite and so deep his nose has caught the chill from Narnia. He's treating Lance really shabbily. For me, he'll have to redeem himself because his current behavior, though somehow understandable, is still unacceptable.
  5. Uuuh...the Money? Carter has hinted that Aron comes from money. Maybe Alex sees Aron as his retirement plan.
  6. Curioser and curioser indeed! Mark...I've got my eyes on you -pun intended

    The Cave

    A firebreather, mayhap?
  8. Carter? Homophope? Noooo. More like possessive, undefined jealousy. Not wanting another man to have what you want, and don't even know you need.
  9. "They fit together...like two spoons in a drawer..." Yes they do. Yes, indeedy!

    It Hurts

We love you Laura. Please never stop writing. For me, personally, your books resonate very deeply, and I enjoy every single word. I will read anything you write. Thank you for letting us in to the world of He Tian and Momo.

    It Hurts

This comment summarizes every thought and emotion I have had while reading the story so far. Laura has a way of letting her characters be seemingly strong on the outside and so tender underneath. She is the best.

    Letter 2

This is going to be a difficult read. It is so raw. I can't even detach myself with the comforting thought that it is just "fiction". The light at the end of the tunnel for me is that you made it out of there, and now get to share your story with us. I thought prisons in my country are terrible. Sounds like the ones in the UK are just as bad. And I wonder, aren't people jailed according to the crime. Like if you are sentenced for a white-collar crime, won't you be taken to a low security facility instead of one with all the craziest and worst of humanity? I'm saddened that you had to go through something like this.

    Chapter 21

I'll tell the friend to be patient...good things come to those who wait. And you are always good to us. Plus, you are very generous with the dessert :).

    Chapter 21

Oh yes! Klaus should have known it was never going to be easy to walk away. He should have known it when they never spent a night in different beds (other than the stint in Germany) right from day one. He should have known when he asked Jake to tell him the story of the scar and held the boy through his breakdown. He should have known when he wore his glasses just because Jake asked him to. The first time he put 'my' before Jake, he should have known that he wasn't gonna turn his back, walk away and come out unscathed. Dear Laura, this is gonna be a real fancy private jet right? With a bedroom right? And a fancy bed where some much needed horizontal apologizing and making up for lost time is gonna be done, right? And yo😜u aren't gonna make us wait until they get back from the wedding, right? Asking for a friend. This is going to be a very long week waiting for ch22.

    Chapter 19

Klaus thinks he can just walk away. I have a feeling he is going to very quickly realize that he can't. But he kept his word to Jake. Diaz stays out of prison and unharmed (sort of). For Jake, it really comes down to the wire: keeping toxic family and old ties, or making new connections, new beginnings and the possibility of a limitless future. What will he choose? Can he have both Klaus AND Diaz? Losing either might just break him. I can't wait to find out how the tale unfolds.

    Chapter 17

Oh my Gosh!!! This was worth the gazillion times I refreshed this page waiting on this chapter. It was waay better than any possible scenario I had imagined. The iciest ones fall the hardest. And it is so sweet to come along for the ride. Jake and Klaus are made for each other, and they will be good for each other in ways neither of them fully grasp yet. And hot damn!! That punishment...

    Chapter 16

This is the story that got me to sign up on gayauthors, because I just had to comment. I had an elaborate plan to go back and comment on every chapter starting from 1, I'll get there. Jake is not a weakling as his brother seems to see him. His fierce Spirit has been stiffled, but when it counts, he is gonna come through roaring like a tiger. Diaz severely underestimates Jake...and Klaus and this is gonna be his downfall. I can't wait to find out what kind of punishment Klaus is gonna mete. I bet it's gonna be so bad it's gonna be goood.

    Chapter 14

Where's "Cowboy"? Did he go off the deep end? Did something sinister happen to him? Waiting on tenterhooks for the next chapter.

    Chapter 12

"...trying to explain Reasonable Doubt as they understood it. But maybe because this was New York, and particularly Long Island, almost everyone had a different opinion and reasons to support it. The problem, they discovered, was Reasonable Doubt was such a nebulous phrase that it meant different things to different people." I laughed out loud at this part. I feel Doug's pain at not being believed. It's being discredited before God and man, all and sundry. It hurts! And why do I get the feeling that Brad's friends painted him a honey-tinged brush when he didn't deserve it. He was drunk, he was drunk. No two ways about it. Poor cowboy too.
