When I was in high school a friend had a baby who had complex and severe medical needs. He often had stats in the local children's hospital where they had a unit specialising in kids using trachs and ventilators. There was a baby there, size of a 6 month old though they said she was 2. She was profoundly brain damaged and lived at the hospital due to her medical needs as well as being abandoned by birth family. When my friends child was there, for about a month, every time I went with her to visit (a few times a week) they would let me hold and pick up that baby. She was like a doll. Never really responded or seemed "awake". Her only visitors were volunteers and staff. Its one of the saddest memories I have and one of the first times I personally realized how very very sad the hand the universe deals us can be. Its been 23 years. And I think of that child probably every few months at least. I'm sure she has passed on by now. My friends child died about 12 years ago from medical complications. And he didn't seem as deeply affected healthwise as she.

Hi Molly! Mine has been ok. Had to do quite a lot of shopping. Little one grew again and needed pretty much a whole new wardrobe. And my work Christmas party was friday, that was nice. Next Friday is a friends and then the Saturday after that I have the annual gathering from my HS classmates. We don't have summer reunions, we do a Christmas gathering at a local pub or whatever. Usually 20 to 30 of us show up. which is fairly many considering my graduating class had 84 people

It seems like Sunday night gets here faster every week Did y'all have good weekends?
