S2 E13: The Fitness Ad Campaign
NimirRaj commented on StoriesByTroy's story chapter in S2 E13: The Fitness Ad Campaign
I think we all know what’s gonna happen. I personally have something I’d love to see happen, but I’d give it a 5% chance at best. 🤣 I feel sorry for Elliot, but this train wreck was never going to have a pretty ending. -
This was a sweet ending. The panic over the burned soup for some reason reminded me of The Birdcage, though Alec’s reaction felt way more realistic & relatable. I mean, he’s no Albert. 😂 Albert: Oh God, I pierced the toast! Armand: So what? The important thing to remember is not to go to pieces when that happens. You have to react like a man, calmly. You have to say to yourself, "Albert, you pierced the toast, so what? It's not the end of your life."

As previously mentioned by Ken it feels like Alec needs to explain to Finn that he no longer needs to be taken care of considering his comment about it being his job to take care of Alec. I’m not sure how much he makes from the gym yet I doubt he has a lot saved up at the moment. Still, I understand him not wanting to be dependent on Alec and a 5 bedroom house might be a bit much for now.
-
Feelings aren’t rational so while Alec has very little conscious love for his mother anymore mom is still mom so I can I definitely understand his being upset.
-
A sweet chapter devoid of any drama, except for the calls about mama… Yeah, that was a terrible, unintentional rhyme. Please ignore that. 😂
-
I’m kinda confused. I mean, I’m glad they’re talking obviously, discussing compromise, and finally using some common sense yet I thought Alec was already talking about such a compromise. Wasn’t Alec implying that either he or the both of them move to a neighboring town so that he isn’t forced to live in Sunnyside and Finn isn’t forced to move far away from his family? Feels a bit like talking in circles even though neither has fully explained what they meant yet.
-
Kinda sums up their relationship doesn’t it? “How do you plan to keep it from happening then?” 🙄 This is the beginning of an unhealthy relationship as Finn is selfish. Feels weird to say that about someone who gave up college to help his brother but apparently if it’s someone other than his family their happiness doesn’t really matter. It’s been pointed out that he’s well aware of Alec’s mental health issues, he knows why Alec left, and he was pushing for them to hookup despite Alec saying it was bad idea as well as being transparent about his plans to go back to where he considers home. On that note it kinda irritates me that Milo and the rest of his family are angry at Alec for… doing what they all knew he was going to do. I know it’s normal family support to lay all the blame on the other party but still it irks me a bit as of course everyone, including Alec himself, are putting all of it on him. Finn and to an extent River with his meddling were the ones wanting to get things rekindled despite knowing Alec had no remote intentions of staying. Finn lied saying he could handle it and then was upset when Alec didn’t magically change his plans deciding to stay where he was miserable. Shocking development I know.

Chapter 23: Mistakes and Consequences
NimirRaj commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 23: Mistakes and Consequences
Reading through the comments I don’t really get all the negativity towards Alec. He literally has been diagnosed with depression, I assume anxiety, and is in therapy. We’re told he’s been improving over the past 10 years and while a lot of that is due to therapy & medication part of it is probably his living somewhere he doesn’t feel oppressed & miserable. The only friends he had there were River, who moved with him, and Finn so for Alec there’s way more negative memories there than positive ones. Why would he ever want to move back? He was planning to move away for years, he told Finn that he planned to move away fairly early on, he tried to get Finn to go with him, he repeatedly tried to reconcile and/or apologize, and when he came back he was transparent about his plans to leave as well as didn’t want to start anything up again for fear of making things worse. He’s being a bit overly negative/pessimistic yet I think he’s handled things fairly well considering Finn once again seems to see the only solution being for Alec to stay rather than any sort of sacrifice on his part. I agree with the idea they could move somewhere nearby as a compromise yet neither is seemingly capable of thinking of that option and unless it was extremely close Finn probably wouldn’t go for that either given how attached he is to his family. I get why Finn stayed as well as why he doesn’t want to leave yet sometimes you’ve got to give up the comfort of the nest to have a fulfilling life. As much as he loves him I’m not sure Finn is enough of a reason for Alec to risk his improved mental health by moving back to a town where he was miserable and which might make his depression harder to deal with. I’m also not sure it’s right for Finn to ask that of him. -
Chapter 20: Heart to Heart
NimirRaj commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 20: Heart to Heart
Well, I’m glad to see the open communication and I don’t see why their relationship can’t work now. Milo doesn’t need Finn for support anymore so he could move to Washington or in theory Alec could move back home. I say in theory because Alec obviously has bad memories there and while his mom is potentially dying as things currently stand he probably wouldn’t be overjoyed to live in the same town as his parents again. Maybe they could move to a nearby town that wasn’t too far of a drive for Finn to frequently visit his family. 🤷🏻♂️ -
Chapter 13: Drinks and Nerves
NimirRaj commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 13: Drinks and Nerves
Rereading this story I don’t recall disliking Finn before but man is he annoying me this time around to the point I’m starting to think Alec could do better. Thinking back to the previous chapters it was unfair for him to go off on Alec for wanting to move away essentially saying if he cared about him he’d give up something he’s dreamed about for years. Alec clearly wanted Finn to go with him so it’s not like their relationship meant nothing to him as Finn seemed to think was the case but few people are willing to give up their dreams to stay where they’re miserable. Next he ignores Finn’s attempt to reconcile only to guilt trip him out of the blue a year later and he’s now taking digs at him for leaving. He saw how horrible his parents were to him so his wanting to leave seemed beyond justified and while I’m aware he doesn’t know Alec is on meds for his nerves & depression I’m still kinda bothered by him going off on someone who has a medical/mental condition that obviously gives them an even greater reason to want to “run away” from the drama he had to deal with there. -
While I never really expected Luke to go to the same college as Jackson I don’t really get why he supposedly doesn’t want to leave town. I mean, sure he has happy memories there but he’s also been downright miserable to the point he had to find an attic to hide in. I just can’t comprehend why he wouldn’t want to go… anywhere else.

And They All Lived Happily Ever After - Well, Most of Them
NimirRaj commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in And They All Lived Happily Ever After - Well, Most of Them
A bit of a bitter sweet, realistic ending though I’m glad to see things turned out as well as they did. -
A Visit with Marty and Holiday Happenings
NimirRaj commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in A Visit with Marty and Holiday Happenings
Marty’s situation is a bit interesting given that those who see their treatment of him or justify it anyway as punishment for his raping a child are technically raping a child themselves as he’s still underage. I’m not sure how I feel about it as while what he did was horrible I can’t help feeling pity for him. -
I hope Blake is ok though I’m not optimistic. One thought that come to mind instantly is his parents might send him off to a conversion camp. Seth’s mother is crazy on top of homophobic so I think it’s only a matter of time before he loses it with her. I probably would have already lost my tempter dealing with her.

More Integrating Alistair and Sleepover/Pool Party

Dang Drew’s dad is a real piece of… work but it looks like his mom has things somewhat handled for now. -
Peace in the Valley Once Again
NimirRaj commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Peace in the Valley Once Again
Glad to see Matt & Reggie work things out and the Marty situation resolved quit nicely. 🙄 Come on Drew if you can talk about your attraction to a teacher or wanting to see Candy naked Matt can talk about how hot Ken is. You better get used to having gay friends as you’re outnumbered. 😂 -
To some extent I understand Stacy’s anger and the whole boyfriend stealing thing yet his mother’s rant of “Then why did you let it happen? Why did you seduce him? Couldn’t you have found your own boyfriend? Did you have to take Stacy’s boyfriend? feels homophobic. I mean the gay son automatically gets 100% of the blame when it takes two people plus who was caught sucking who? Looked more like Craig was doing the seducing. There’s no excuse for hitting your son and I definitely think his staying at the aunt & uncle’s at least until things calm down a bit is for the best. I feel given enough time and assuming it really was a heat of the moment type thing Seth might be able to forgive his mother though I’m unsure how things will progress with Stacy. Her anger is to an extent justified, but in her current state she’s downright dangerous. At the moment I think there’s a chance he could end up living with his aunt & uncle permanently going forward.

Marty Visits Jail and Matt's Recovery
NimirRaj commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Marty Visits Jail and Matt's Recovery
Glad to see Matt is doing ok all things considering with no lasting physical damage and seems like he’ll be fine emotionally with Reggie’s support. Marty went from stupid to brain dead fast, though like @weinerdog after getting to know his father I have the tiniest bit of sympathy for him. Of course that flicker of sympathy doesn’t negate my joy at his arrest and what seems like a likely prison sentence. -
Lawyers and More from Marty
NimirRaj commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Lawyers and More from Marty
Matt may have the courage to bring it up yet when someone of any age is found beaten & naked I’d expect some comment about the possibility of rape rather than the line “I believe it looks a lot worse than it is.”. It seems like the possibility never crossed their minds as clearly they haven’t examined him for signs of sexual assault. -
Thank goodness for Aunt Marie & Uncle Steve. Hopefully Craig can get the help he needs, though what they’re going to do about his parents I have no idea. We’ve got three family’s worth of drama to deal still and I’m not sure how that’s all going to go down.

I don’t know how much time has passed but I’m a little surprised Aiden went from telling Jason, a guy he had feelings for, that he wasn’t ready for anal sex due to the understandable trauma of being raped to essentially begging Brent, who he’s just using for revenge sex, to fuck him. He also found Brent being dominant/aggressive a turn on which I’d expect to trigger the exact opposite reaction at the very least. I’m glad to see he’s doing so well on that front.

What a disgusting pair trying to profit off their child’s suffering.

What kind of pastor hides a revolver in the pulpit??!
-
There’s being religious and there’s child abuse/neglect. To think they’d take time to pray away the gay but attend to their son’s medical needs is crazy. I suppose they saw his injury as punishment from God for protecting someone they judge as sinful. Glad he had Ricky and his family to turn to.

Rereading it I had forgotten how triggering this chapter was. Matt’s father had already shown he was a piece of… work even before he started in on the homophobia and I’m beyond proud of Matt for standing up to him.
