My problem with Gibbs and Grissom is that they both come off as entitled. They reprimand anyone who doesn't follow the rules to a T but then constantly do whatever the F they want and then are revered for going against their supervisors. I liked them both at the beginning, but grew very irritated of the constant double standard. Also, neither are ever wrong and ALWAYS make the perfect choices. Which, lets face it, is BS. I like my characters to be real and flawed.
He legally changed it to Patrick when he was 18. His birth last name is no longer part of his life. He is legally a Patrick and everything related to his business and image is Patrick. It would be like Kim Kardashian changing her last name lol. I bet people would be okay with Loren Petermeyer, but it would be hard to re-brand something like that. Some of the branding is explained in the next chapter, so I don't really want to spoil it, not that it's a huge part of the chapter, but still.
I haven't. Loren's last name isn't even real (I mean, he picked it from a SpongeBob character), so it's not like Jay would take it. But Loren's identity is Loren Patrick, so I don't see him changing it to Petermeyer. I think the girls are Petermeyer, because Loren would never give them his bio last name or a Spongebob name.
Carson was banished from his cute cousin and his hero brother. Life is really hard for little brothers lol. How annoying do you think he was to Matt and Seamus for the rest of that trip? lol
I think Jay thought Loren would get caught up in his head a little more than he is. Which, given his history, would not have been surprising! Loren loves to overthink EVERYTHING, and then overthink what he overthought. It's a quick spiral. Luckily, Jay is good at stopping it before it gains too much momentum lol.
So his "parents" would be baby snatchers. That would explain why they lack emotional attachment to Loren and why it was so easy to leave him. Easy come, easy go.
