Would that be a good thing or a bad thing? At first glance, finding out their not related might seem like a relief, but now you have the trauma of being "abandoned" twice? Hmmm.
My grandmother to me when I was seven. "Carefully, you might end up looking like me when you grow up."
Me, in the most offended tone ever: "Oh no. I will NEVER look like you."
My mom still won't let it down.
BTW. I most definitely resemble my grandmother, which isn't nearly the atrocity I once thought it was lol, but oh the irony.
At least she's trying! This was inspired by my on MIL, whom I love but bought the WORST clothes ever. It's a difficult dynamic. Jay was asking for trouble when he dressed them in that stuff to pick Loren up, that's for sure.
You're right, parenthood is a trip. I don't think any of us are shocked that Loren is reacting the way he is. He is rightfully protective and wanting to do everything differently than was done to him. He his capable of so much love, love he's held back, and now it's flowing like a fire hose and I'm here for it.

Oregon is nice and all, but it’s not Denver.
The rental house is beautiful, but it’s not home.
The plan was always to drive back to Colorado with the twins, but now that the girls are cleared to travel, the plans are changing. Infants are harder than we ever imagined. Taking them on a road trip is no longer appealing which is why Loren’s on the phone, chartering a plane to take us from the McMinnville Municipal Airport to Denver while si
It's a big down with a small town feel. The prices have definitely shot up (where hasn't?). I love McMinnville. We're not planning on moving but if we were, we would totally move there.
I think most residence wish it wasn't there, but there has been some good. It pumps some money into the community, which is pretty low income. At this point, it's become relatively normal.
I read this earlier but then a friend/co-worker called. They'd had an accident at their house. I took them to the H and found out they broke both their shoulders! So, I got them medicated and tucked in for a nap while they wait for their kid to drive down from PDX to stay with them for the week.
But now I'm back!
I think it's great that each chapter you highlight unique situations that benefit from this unorthodox'd hunt. This chapter was no different. You dealt with trauma/PTSD respectfully and with a happy ending. On to the final chapter.
How special to have this little slice of normalcy? Something we take for granted had to have felt HUGE to Ray. Especially a birthday, something he may have thought were numbered. 🥹🥹🥹
Elijah isn't the only one to experience spidy feelings...hmm. Opposite elements and Psi connections. Sounds like the build up to something big.
